Purpose Biological age (BA) has recently emerged as a substitute for chronological age (CA), and many subjects seek to optimally control their BA. However, in South Korea, no study has adequately explored factors that affect BA, although individual health management is essential to preventing chronic diseases. In the present study, we focus on the use of health information, in particular nutrition facts, to control BA. Methods We used data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (2010–2015; 26,914 eligible participants) using BA and age differences as outcome variables. We used multiple linear regression to explore the relationship between the use of nutrition data and differences in BA after adjusting for covariates. In addition, we used multiple linear regression to examine subgroup differences in such relationships. Results 12.8% of males and 27.5% of females used nutrition facts when deciding which foods to purchase. The more attention paid to such facts, the lower the BA and BA differences in both males and females (males: β = −2.646, females: β = −2.787, p < 0.05, for BA; males: β = −1.181, females, β = −2.161, p < 0.05, for BA differences). However, BA differences were more significant in subjects with chronic disease, obesity, and/or a family history of chronic disease. Conclusion High-level awareness of and active use of nutrition facts permitted effective self-management in preventing chronic disease and improving BA, particularly in subjects at higher risk for chronic disease. Thus, considering nutrition facts when deciding what to purchase is important.

In recent years, a large number of automatic equipment has been introduced into the chemical fiber filament doffing production line, but the related research on the fully automatic production line technology is not yet mature. At present, it is difficult to collect data due to test costs and confidentiality. This paper proposes to develop a simulation platform for a chemical fiber filament doffing production line, which enables us to effectively obtain data and quantitatively study the relationship between the number of manual interventions and other process parameters of the production line. Considering that the parameter research is a multi-factor problem, an orthogonal test was designed by using SPSS software and was carried out by using a simulation platform. The multiple linear regression (MLR) and the neural network optimized by genetic algorithm were adopted to fit the relationship between the number of manual interventions and other parameters of the production line. The SPSS software was applied to obtain the standardized coefficients of the multiple linear regression fitting and the neural network mean impact value (MIV) algorithm was applied to obtain the magnitude and direction of the impact of different parameters on the number of manual interventions. The above results provide important reference for the design of similar new production lines and for the improvement of old production lines.

Abstract The new species, Paroctopus cthulu sp. nov. Leite, Haimovici, Lima and Lima, was recorded from very shallow coastal waters on sandy/muddy and shelter-poor bottoms with natural and human-origin debris. It is a small octopus, adults are less than 35 mm mantle length (ML) and weigh around 15 g. It has short to medium sized arms, enlarged suckers on the arms of both males and females, large posterior salivary glands (25 %ML), a relatively large beak (9 % ML) and medium to large mature eggs (3.5 to > 9 mm). The characteristics of hatchlings of two brooding females, some of their anatomical features, and in-situ observations of their behaviour are a clue to the life history of it and closely related pygmy octopuses. The Bayesian phylogenetic analysis showed that Paroctopus cthulu sp.nov. specimens grouped in a well-supported clade of Paroctopus species, separate from P.joubini and P. cf mercatoris from the Northwestern Atlantic . The description of this new species, living in a novel habitat of human debris in shallow water off Brazil, offered an opportunity not only to evaluate the relationship among the small octopuses of the western Atlantic, Caribbean and eastern Pacific, but also their adaptation to the Anthropocene period.

The development of Islamic economics in banking practices in society develops innovatively. Various sharia banking products have become the people's choice in supporting their daily economic activities. The same thing also happened to students. The purpose of study is to analyze the religiosity effect of students' interest in saving for Islamic banking with knowledge as intervening variable. Multiple linear regression is an analytical technique used here, with hypothesis testing and path analysis to support its conclusions. The result of this study is that the level of religiosity significantly effects on students' interest in saving for Islamic banking with positive relationship. Likewise, knowledge is able mediate the relationship between the religiosity variable and students' interest in saving.

Abstract Background Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder, which produces high costs and has a substantial impact on health care budgets globally. This is mainly due to poor global and cognitive functioning in these patients. The objective of this study was to relate global functioning and cognitive functioning in patients with schizophrenia who attend the outpatient clinic of a general hospital in Peru during the years 2018–2019. Methods Non-experimental quantitative study of descriptive cross-sectional correlational type. The sample was for convenience, and consisted of 53 patients with schizophrenia from the “Hospital Nacional de la PNP”. Functioning Assessment Short Test (FAST) was used to assess global functioning, the Screen for Cognitive Impairment (SCIP), cognitive functioning, and a data collection sheets with the history of the disease. The relationship between FAST and SCIP with the qualitative variables was evaluated by the Mann-Whitney U test or Student’s t test depending on whether they met the normality assumptions. The linear correlation between the FAST, the SCIP and the other quantitative variables was evaluated using Spearman’s Rho. A multiple linear regression model was constructed in which all variables other than the total FAST result are considered using the forward method. Results It was found that 34 (62.2%) were male; 52 (98.1%), single; 39, (73.6%) without a current job. We found worse overall functioning in patients with lower educational level (p = 0.005) and without a current job (p = 0.004). The total FAST was correlated with the time of the disease (ρ = 0.334, p <0.05) and with the number of previous psychotic episodes (ρ = 0.354, p <0.01). We found worse cognitive functioning in patients with lower educational level (p = 0.000) and without a current job (p = 0.017). The SCIP total was correlated to the FAST (ρ = 0.542, p <0.01). The multiple linear regression analysis with the total FAST score as the explained variable evidenced the existence of a relationship between variables that is explained by the equation: Y = 57.032 + (-0.521) X1 + (1.896) X2 Where Y is the total FAST score, X1 the total SCIP and X2 the number of previous psychotic episodes. The coefficient of determination was 0.392 and the mean square error of 161.46. The Durbin-Watson statistic was 1,529. Discussion This is the first exploratory pilot analysis of the factors associated with global functioning, with special emphasis on cognitive functioning and the history of the disease, in Peruvian patients with schizophrenia. Patients with higher educational level and those who have a current job showed a better global and cognitive functioning. It was found an indirect and significant relationship of moderate intensity between cognitive functioning and its subtest with global functioning, that is, a lower level of cognitive functioning is related to greater difficulties in the daily functioning of patients with schizophrenia. Both the bivariate analysis and the linear regression model found a relationship between global and cognitive functioning. In the multiple linear regression model, it was found that the total SCIP was the one that had the most influence on global functioning (Beta = -0.528), that is, lower levels of cognitive functioning are related to high levels of poor global functioning. Taking these results into account, we recommend implementing functional and cognitive evaluation programs in patients with schizophrenia at the “Hospital Nacional de la PNP”. Future longitudinal studies should be performed on samples from larger patients, especially with a first psychotic episode, with the purpose of seeking a cause-effect relationship between global and cognitive functioning in patients with schizophrenia.
