The 5G wireless communication network is currently faced with the challenge of limited data speed exacerbated by the proliferation of billions of data-intensive applications. To address this problem, researchers are developing cutting-edge technologies for the envisioned 6G wireless communication standards to satisfy the escalating wireless services demands. Though some of the candidate technologies in the 5G standards will apply to 6G wireless networks, key disruptive technologies that will guarantee the desired quality of physical experience to achieve ubiquitous wireless connectivity are expected in 6G. This article first provides a foundational background on the evolution of different wireless communication standards to have a proper insight into the vision and requirements of 6G. Second, we provide a panoramic view of the enabling technologies proposed to facilitate 6G and introduce emerging 6G applications such as multi-sensory–extended reality, digital replica, and more. Next, the technology-driven challenges, social, psychological, health and commercialization issues posed to actualizing 6G, and the probable solutions to tackle these challenges are discussed extensively. Additionally, we present new use cases of the 6G technology in agriculture, education, media and entertainment, logistics and transportation, and tourism. Furthermore, we discuss the multi-faceted communication capabilities of 6G that will contribute significantly to global sustainability and how 6G will bring about a dramatic change in the business arena. Finally, we highlight the research trends, open research issues, and key take-away lessons for future research exploration in 6G wireless communication.

<p>Quality of Service (QoS) is one of the most important parameters to be considered in computer networking and communication. The traditional network incorporates various quality QoS frameworks to enhance the quality of services. Due to the distributed nature of the traditional networks, providing quality of service, based on service level agreement (SLA) is a complex task for the network designers and administrators. With the advent of software defined networks (SDN), the task of ensuring QoS is expected to become feasible. Since SDN has logically centralized architecture, it may be able to provide QoS, which was otherwise extremely difficult in traditional network architectures. Emergence and popularity of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) have opened up even more possibilities in the line of QoS assurance. In this article, the focus has been mainly on machine learning and deep learning based QoS aware protocols that have been developed so far for SDN. The functional areas of SDN namely traffic classification, QoS aware routing, queuing, and scheduling are considered in this survey. The article presents a systematic and comprehensive study on different ML and DL based approaches designed to improve overall QoS in SDN. Different research issues & challenges, and future research directions in the area of QoS in SDN are outlined. <b></b></p>

This paper proposed the lightweight QoE driven adaptive invulnerability wireless communication control method, including the wireless communication terminal equipment with invulnerability antenna. According to the quality of wireless network channel quality, the lightweight QoE driven scheme was developed. According to user needs, the quality of the network, survivable ability of wireless communication terminal and wireless communication survivability requirements, we proposed three matching rules by considering the wireless hop number, data size and life cycle. The experiments demonstrated that the proposed scheme can optimize wireless communication terminal equipment and wireless opportunistic communication network construction, guarantee the user experience quality and improve wireless communication network survivability.

This paper presents and critically assesses four major cognitive theories of emotion. Theories were selected on the basis of their pertinence to a social psychological study of emotion in sport. Four cognitive theories of emotion by Schachter (1964), Lazarus (1966), Arnold (1960), and Weiner (1981) were reviewed. Strengths and weaknesses of these theories were examined. Cognitive theories of emotion were also shown to be amenable to theoretical research in sport. It was suggested that a comprehensive theory of emotion in sport should incorporate aspects of different cognitive theories of emotion thus leading to a better understanding and prediction of emotion in sport settings. Such a comprehensive theory, however, must await future research. Issues for a social psychology of emotion in sport were formulated. It was argued that emotion research in sport should be incorporated within a social psychological framework. To this end it was suggested that a better understanding of the antecedents and consequences of affect is needed in order to fully understand emotion as experienced by sport participants.

The purpose of this chapter is to review the literature on quality of care in rural areas. Keywords related to rural quality of care were used to search CINAHL and MEDLINE databases for articles published between 2005 and 2007 (limited to studies occurring in the United States). The review consisted of a total of 46 articles. Limitations include inconsistent definitions of rural, the use of only articles available to the reviewers, an unclear understanding of the context of many of the studies, and lack of a clear operational definition of quality. The studies were grouped and discussed according to quality of workforce, practice, treatment, interventions, and technology in rural areas. Each study’s contribution to the understanding of quality health care in rural areas and to determining what was effective in improving staff, patient, or organizational outcomes in rural areas was considered. This chapter also offers a discussion of ethical issues and data quality in rural research. Issues for future research include a focus on patient safety, mental health issues, and the use of technology to improve quality of care in rural areas. Future research should also focus on demonstration studies of model applications. The nursing profession has a unique opportunity to conduct research that will contribute to the development of knowledge that will ultimately improve the quality of health and health care for individuals in rural communities.

Abstract The objective of the study was to analyze and compare the subjective quality of life (S-QOL) of Slovak men with physical disabilities through satisfaction with the quality of life domains (QOLDs) and the overall quality of life (QOL) assessment. The sample comprised of men with physical disabilities (n = 132), divided into 4 age categories: 19–29 yrs. (n = 59); 30–44 yrs. (n = 26); 45–59 yrs. (n = 24) and over 60 yrs. (n = 23). The Subjective Quality of Life Analysis (S-QUA-L-A) and The World Health Organisation Quality of Life User Manual (WHOQOL User Manual) were used as primary research methods. The findings of this study confirm differences in S-QOL in one QOLD as well as in the overall QOL between two from four age categories of men with physical disabilities. The 19–29 yrs. old men were significantly more satisfied in their lives with the Physical health domains and declared significantly higher overall QOL compare to 45–59 yrs. men. There were no significant differences found in S-QOL between other pair comparisons of the age categories of men with physical disabilities. The highest satisfaction in all age categories of men was declared by the domains of Social relation and Physical health and the highest dissatisfaction by the Psychological health and Environment domains. It is necessary to continue this line of this research field with stress on exploring the ways of psychological health increase as an integral part of S-QOL in men with physical disabilities. Future research should focus on life indicators that saturate the Environment domain, which should be positively affected in mens’ life.

Open innovation is an essential phenomenon in the crowdfunding context. This conceptual piece tends to offer an integrative discussion of three important mechanisms upon which stakeholders of a crowdfunding platform conduct open innovation and value co-creation in crowdfunding sites. These mechanisms include: diversity, knowing, and networking. We argued that: 1. diverse demographic attributes facilitate multiple-party value co-creation; 2. knowledge of platform stakeholders improves quality of ideas; 3. networking positively impacts on open innovation performance. With such discussions, a theoretical foundation for future research is built and more research issues are stimulated.

The present narrative review examined quantitative and qualitative research on family members who support survivors of trauma or abuse. Studies included in the present review were found in peer-reviewed journal articles, available in English, published between 1980 and 2019, and focused specifically on the experiences of adult familial supporters of adult trauma and abuse survivors. A search of PsychInfo and Google Scholar identified 136 relevant articles, and analysis of their content generated the following categories: individual-level impacts (i.e., quality of psychological health, burden, secondary traumatic stress, quality of physical health, and positive impacts), interpersonal and environmental level impacts (i.e., quality of relationships with survivors, navigating environment, maltreatment and safety, and social impacts), and other experiences (i.e., social roles, needs, coping strategies, and sociocultural context). Findings indicate that the majority of existing studies examined the experiences of family members of adult survivors of military trauma. Results of the review suggest that family supporters of adult trauma and abuse survivors generally experience physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, social, safety, and relational impacts. Implications of review findings and directions for future research are discussed.

With the advent of the information age, VR video streaming services have emerged in large numbers in scenarios such as immersive entertainment, smart education, and the Internet of Vehicles. People are also demanding an increasing number of virtual-reality (VR) services, and service providers must ensure a good user experience. Therefore, the quality of the VR user’s experience is receiving increasing attention from academia and industry. The review in this paper focuses on a comprehensive summary of the current state of quality-of-experience (QoE) technologies applied to VR video streaming. First, we review the main influencing factors of QoE and VR video streaming. Second, the user QoE for VR evaluation is discussed. Third, the modeling of QoE for VR video streaming, the QoE-oriented VR optimization problem, and enabling techniques of machine learning for VR video streaming improvement are summarized. Lastly, we present current challenges and possible future research directions.
