Who could have imagined that the COVID-19 crisis would affect the whole world? This means that all aspects of society, in general, have felt the consequences of the measures imposed to reduce contagion. Firms, businesses, and their management had to be and must continue to be resilient, and entrepreneurs creative to overcome the present and future impacts of the pandemic, which will be long-lasting. This study aims to map the existing literature on the topic and identify emerging ones. To provide a robust response to this objective, qualitative methodology was adopted through content analysis of the selected documents and the use of MAXQDA software to analyze qualitative data. In addition, a descriptive analysis of the selected documents is presented. The results obtained show there is still a shortage of studies, principally empirical ones, addressing this subject, to complete existing knowledge and thereby contribute to understanding the effects of the virus on businesses and their management. The main contribution of this article lies in a first systematization and coding of the literature, to identify emerging topics for study by academics, the foremost agents of knowledge.

Brain-Based Instruction methods have become influential at almost all educational levels. This paper examined the extent to which Natural and Computational Sciences and Engineering instructors in Ethiopian Higher Education Institutions apply Brain-Based Instruction principles (i.e., relaxed alertness, orchestrated immersion, and active processing) in their learningteaching process. This paper used a descriptive survey research design with a concurrent mixed (quantitative and qualitative) methodology. A questionnaire was used to gather quantitative data from a random sample of 512 instructors (292 from Natural and Computational Sciences and 220 from Engineering). Qualitative data were gathered from six selected instructors (three from Natural and Computational Sciences and three from Engineering) via a semistructured interview. A pilot study was used to confirm the validity and reliability of the research instruments. Quantitative data were analyzed by standard univariate methods. Qualitative data were analyzed by thematic analysis. The findings depicted that limited implementation of Brain-Based Instruction principles. Furthermore, the study showed that Higher Diploma Program training and length of teaching experience positively influenced the use of Brain-Based Instruction principles. The paper discusses implications for Brain-Based Instruction in Ethiopia and suggests areas for future research.

Abstract Following an integrated data analytics framework that includes descriptive analysis and multiple automatic content analysis, we examined 265 projects that have been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the Smart and Connected Health (SCH) program. Our analysis discovered certain characteristics of these projects, including the distribution of the funds over years, the leading organizations in SCH, and the multidisciplinary nature of these projects. We also conducted content analysis on project titles and automatic analysis on the abstracts of the projects, including term frequency/word cloud analysis, clustering analysis, and topic modeling using Biterm method. Our analysis found that five main research areas were explored in these projects: system or platform development, modeling or algorithmic development for various purposes, designing smart health devices, clinical data collection and application, and education and academic activities of SCH. Together we obtained a comparatively fair understanding of these projects and demonstrated how different analytic approaches could complement each other. Future research will focus on the impact of these projects through an analysis of their publications and citations.

Through data gathered from interviews with cold case homicide survivors, this article reveals the important role of religion and faith in the aftermath of an unsolved murder. Using qualitative methodology, the author highlights the lived experiences and personal journeys of cold case homicide surviving family members, who are often a forgotten and an overlooked segment of victims. Qualitative data suggests that these cold case homicide survivors found religion to be critical in the aftermath of their loved one's murder. Specifically, survivors indicated their faith was fundamental in coping with the homicide and provided hope for anticipating a resolution in their cases. From these intimate, personal survivor accounts, scholars and practitioners can begin to develop future research and programs that are specifically designed to highlight the role of religion in moving forward after an unsolved murder.

Background Despite viewing less often than young men, young women view pornography. This study used an online survey to describe young women’s pornography use and their reflections on the influence of this use. Methods: Young Australian women (15–29 years) were recruited via Facebook to complete an online survey in 2016. Respondents who had ever viewed pornography (n = 491) were asked 10 closed-ended questions related to their exposure to pornography and an open-ended question: ‘How has pornography influenced your life?’. Quantitative responses were descriptively analysed. Qualitative responses were thematically analysed using a descriptive qualitative approach. Results: Most respondents (89%) watched pornography alone for sexual arousal and openly reflected on the influence of their own use. Two overarching themes were identified across qualitative data. The first, exploration, included positive sub-themes of safety, independence, normalisation of sexuality and diversity in body type. The second, harm, included negative sub-themes related to conditioning, comparison and dependency. Themes were identified separately among two discrete groups, but were also described concurrently among a third group of (mostly older) respondents who experienced pornography both as a place for exploration and as a potential source of harm. Conclusion: Young women watch pornography and have positive, negative and mixed experiences that they link to their own viewing. Future research must provide a safe space for young women to be honest regarding their pornography use to ensure that their perspectives are heard and understood.

Post-secondary education in the 21st century United States is rapidly diversifying, and institutions’ online offerings and presence are increasingly significant. Academic libraries have an established history of offering virtual services and providing online resources for students, faculty, staff, and the general public. In addition to these services and resources, information on academic library websites can contribute to an institution’s demonstration of value placed on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This article analyzes the DEI statements of a library consortium’s member websites to explore how these statements contribute to institutional construction of, and commitment to, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Descriptive analysis revealed 12 of 16 member libraries had explicitly labeled DEI statements in November 2020, with an additional member updating their website to include such a statement in early 2021. Content analysis examined how the existing statements contributed to institutional value of and commitment to DEI, and multi-modal theory explored the communicative aspects of DEI statement content. Analysis revealed vague conceptualizations of diversity and library-centered language in DEI statements, while a subset of statements employed anti-racist and social justice language to position the library as an active agent for social change. Implications and avenues for future research are discussed.
