The hydropower project had comprehensively benefited people from aspects of the economy, society, ecology, etc. The comprehensive benefit is a key indicator for evaluating a project’s performance. However, the existing studies only evaluated the comprehensive benefit and ignored the relationship among different benefits, which is of great significance for the sustainable development of a project. Therefore, in the framework of the complex system composed of economic, social, and ecological benefit subsystems, a synergy degree evaluation method is constructed based on the evaluation index system of the comprehensive benefits, and the compound weight is determined by using the non-linear model and the Lagrange function. Thus, the changing rules of the order degree and the synergy degree for the subsystems in different years can be obtained. The proposed method is applied to a gate dam (named SG) to appraise the relationship among benefits. The results show that the economic, social, and ecological benefits of the SG dam from 2011 to 2018 are gradually to be a better state, but the synergy degrees of the complex system belong to “bottom synergy” and “moderate synergy” level, which indicates that there is no close cooperation among the three benefit subsystems.

Rapid industrialization and urbanization in China have led to a rapid increase in the number of brownfields, however there is a lack of identification of the spatial extent of brownfields in cities and accurate assessment of brownfield redevelopment. Based on the relationship between brownfields and urban complex ecosystems, this paper defines brownfields in China and constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system including socio-economic and ecological subsystems. Using Wuhu City as empirical evidence, 19 brownfields were identified using remote sensing data and field surveys. Based on the detection of soil contaminants in brownfields, a fuzzy integrated evaluation method was used to suggest their redevelopment direction. It is found that the government’s planned land use types and the brownfield redevelopment evaluation results match to a large extent, but social, economic and ecological environmental factors should be more fully considered. At the same time, the identification and redevelopment of brownfield sites in the city as a whole need to be carried out by the government’s professional forces in order to obtain more effective and scientific conclusions.

The comprehensive benefit evaluation is the key of reasonable development for the rural household biogas. The evaluation index was established according to the economic efficiency, energy efficiency, ecological benefit and social benefits and so on, which was used to resolve the problem that the effect factors of comprehensive benefit evaluation of rural household biogas are more and the quantitative evaluation can't completely be finished. The secondary mathematical model of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation for comprehensive benefit evaluation of rural household biogas was established by fuzzy mathematical method. The case calculation shows that this method is simple and practical, which not only convenient for experts to compare, selection and score, but also has the effect of quantification. It is integrated between the qualitative analysis and quantitative evaluation and the result is satisfactory through.

On the one hand, resource-based cities have played a great role to the economic growth of our country. On the other hand, they have also caused great destruction to China's economic development. The sustainable development evaluation of resource-based cities is a new topic, and its theory and method system remain to be discussed. Taking Pingdingshan City , Henan Province as an example, this paper discusses the evaluation method of sustainable development of resource-based cities. Combining the methods of scientific and practical, typical and comparable, dynamic and operable, comprehensive and hierarchical, taking AHP comprehensive evaluation as the foundation, from resource support ability, environment support ability, social support ability, and economic support ability, this evaluation method choose 47 index to evaluate the sustainable development of resource-based cities. The comprehensive evaluation index system of this paper strives to comprehensive reflect the process of sustainable development of resource-based cities, and hopes to provide some reference for policy making for the sustainable development of resource-based cities.

The evaluation of urban sustainability plays a crucial role in the process of the sustainable development of cities. To decrease subjectivity and attain a comprehensive evaluation, this paper develops an evaluation method using the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS). First, an evaluation index system including 39 indices and three categories (economic, social, and ecological development) is established; second, based on the index system, a modified TOPSIS, in which the entropy method is used to assign weights to each index according to its evaluation score and grey relation analysis is used to reduce the uncertainty existing in the process of evaluation, is presented to rank the sustainability level of cities. Finally, an example with the sustainability evaluation of 16 cities in the Anhui province of China is introduced to verify the effectiveness of the model.

The sustainable development evaluation of reservoir resettlement has great significance to future planning and implementation of water conservancy and hydropower projects. Based on the analysis of the current condition of reservoir resettlement, this paper established a comprehensive evaluation index system for sustainable development of reservoir resettlement, with the consideration of economic, social, cultural and environmental factors. The Analytic Hierarchy Process method is proposed to determine the weight of each index. The case of the Three Gorges reservoir resettlement in Tianchang, Anhui is analyzed, and the feasibility of the proposed method is verified.

With the advancement of China's urbanization process, China's villages and small towns also begin to face a series of challenges such as ecological environment destruction, population outflow and aging. In order to better deal with these challenges, Zhejiang province issued the “Interim Measures for the Assessment and Acceptance of Environmental Comprehensive Improvement Actions in Small Towns in Zhejiang Province”. The document provides detailed environmental assessments of villages and small towns, but lacks economic and social assessments. This study introduced the performance evaluation system of landscape, it focuses on the sustainable development of the thought and the advantage of quantitative evaluation system, combined with“Interim Measures for the Assessment and Acceptance of Environmental Comprehensive Improvement Actions in Small Towns in Zhejiang Province”, to build a strong comprehensive evaluation index system. Then, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method (FCE) are used to draw the conclusion. In this way, the direction of key construction in the next step of rural and small town development can be clarified to achieve better development of this region.

Land ecological security is related to the sustainable development in every country. The ecological safety status of Poyang Lake Eco-economic Zone was chosen as study area in this paper. Based on Emergy, an evaluation index system of land ecological security is constructed from the perspective of the natural, economic and social factors. The AHP method was used to determine the index weights and multi-factor comprehensive evaluation method was also adopted to quantitatively evaluate and analyze the ecological security status of land use in the Poyang Lake Eco-economic Zone. The results show a downward trend from 2006 to 2010, the state of land ecological security changed from being comparatively safe to being critical safe. The value of ecological security for the Poyang Lake Eco-economic Zone decreased from 0.7031 in 2006 to 0.6576 in 2010.

The weakness of the existing system of urbanization comprehensive evaluation is: evaluation Indexes were not comprehensive, and the evaluation system can’t reflect the real situation; analysis method was complex, and difficult to operate. We established evaluation index system from the economic development, social development, living, environment, infrastructure, spatial density, and urban-rural gap. We used entropy and comprehensive evaluation method to process and analyze the indicators. The results show that the quality of urbanization development is obviously different in Shaanxi Province, the effect of secondary cities is not obvious to promote the development, and the internal gap is still large in provincial cities and sub-index level.
