Relevance. The complex of actions for decrease in growth of diseases of the maxillofacial region includes the reorganization of the mouth, creating an individual program for hygiene and prevention. Among the large number of types of therapeutic and preventive hygiene products for patients with neuropsychiatric disorders, given the burdened somatic status, the program should include safe for use basic and additional means.Purpose. Comparative assessment of oral fluid microorganisms in patients with psychoneurotic disorders before and after 6 months of using toothpastes with the enzyme «bromelain».Materials and methods. A comparative analysis of the oral fluid microflora in patients with high intensity and activity of the cariosity, with positive (psychoneurological disorders) anamnesis and without comorbidities has been carried out. The mouths of all studied patients were sanitized, and a program of personal oral hygiene using hygienic toothpastes and with the enzyme «bromelain» was developed.Results. The conducted research does not prove the bactericidal effect of the enzyme «bromelain» on oral microflora, however, a significant decrease of the total number of viable bacteria, changes in the species composition, and the degree of hemolecular properties indicates an indirect bacteriostatic effect of this enzyme in the composition of the toothpastes, which can be considered as a positive effect on the decrease of caries activity in patients with «negative» dental status (caries intensity index > 9, hygiene index by the method of Yu.A. Fedorov and V.V. Volodkina > 2 points, 3rd degree of caries activity by T.F. Vinogradova), including in patients with psychoneurological disorders.Conclusion. The use of enzyme «bromelain» in toothpastes in patients with neuropsychiatric disorders contributes not only to the safe and intensive cleavage of soft plaque, but also to a positive effect on the microbiota of the oral fluid, which is a favorable prognostic criterion for reducing the activity of the carious process.

Study the effectivity analysis of Program Usaha Agribisnis Perdesaan (PUAP) and its impact on farmer income levels (case study of the Teluk Jaya Farmers Group Association) aims to 1. knowing how large the effectivity of PUAP funds is for income levels in poverty alleviation in Teluk Desa Sentosa Panai Hulu Subdistrict, 2. to analyze and determine the level of income of Gapoktan Teluk Jaya Farming Business in Teluk Sentosa, Panai Hulu Subdistrict before and after receiving PUAP assistance. The results showed that the effectivity of PUAP program funding is very effective and good, it can be seen from the results of the F test of 12.406 with a significant level of 0.000 while the F value of the table is 2.051. When compared to the value of F test (12.406) > Ftable (2.051) at α 5%, it was concluded that simultaneously the effectivity variable and the PUAP program had a positive effect. The increase in income of the Teluk Jaya Farmers Group in Teluk Sentosa after receiving PUAP funds can be known from the t table for the effectivity variable of 2.663 and the PUAP program for 1.270 with a significant value for each independent variable (2.051); (0.073). Whereas for the t table value in the distribution statistics t table with the level of test α = 5% and df1 = 27 of 2,051. Based on the criteria that if the value is t count> t table); namely (2.663> 2,051) (1,270> 2,051) so that it can be concluded that the effectivity variable partially has a positive and significant effect on the income level. Keywords : effectivity variable,  income level, PUAP program

The Covid-19 induced economic crisis has significantly affected almost all businesses from nearly every sector, causing severe financial problems, lack of cash assets, and decrease of revenues. In this context, the economic entities were forced to look for adjustment and rescue solutions of their activities. One possible solution for the recovery and reorganization of economic entities’ activities is demerger. This paper evaluates the impact of demerger upon the sustainable development of economic entities in terms of economic efficiency and financial performances. To achieve this goal, a statistical analysis of profitability ratios before and after the demerger, as well as a structural analysis of 268 demerger projects for the April 2012–April 2021 period, were performed. The results attest there are no significant differences between the ex-ante and ex-post financial performances. However, demerger seems to have a positive effect upon analyzed companies helping them to overcome economic hardships, rethink their business strategies, and continue their activity in the medium and long-term time horizon.

Mindfulness-based interventions (MBI) are a recognized effective psychological practice characterized by attention control, awareness, acceptance, non-reactivity, and non-judgmental thinking obtained through the practice of meditation. They have been shown to be useful in reducing stress and enhancing well-being in different contexts. In this research, the effectiveness of an MBI was evaluated on variables that can promote successful job performance such as mindfulness trait, positive and negative affect, forgiveness, personality strengths and satisfaction with life. The intervention was carried out through a smartphone application called “Aire Fresco” (Fresh Air) during 14 days in the middle of the quarantine produced by the Covid-19 pandemic. The study sample was composed of 164 Spanish people who were distributed in two groups: control group and experimental group, which were evaluated before and after the intervention. The MANCOVA performed showed an overall positive effect of the intervention on the variables evaluated. The different ANCOVAs carried out showed that the intervention was beneficial in increasing mindfulness trait, reducing negative affect or increasing life satisfaction, among others. Our study is, as far as we know, the first to demonstrate the effectiveness of a brief intervention in mindfulness conducted using a smartphone application in Spanish.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of administering intermittent parathyroid hormone (iPTH) before tooth extraction versus after tooth extraction on the risk of developing MRONJ in experimental animal model. Twenty-five ovariectomized rats received 6 weeks of bisphosphonate therapy. They were classified into 3 groups, based on the timing of the medication, as Control, Pre-PTH and Post-PTH groups. For Control group, normal saline was administered before and after tooth extraction. iPTH was administered during 4 weeks before tooth extraction for Pre-PTH group and after tooth extraction for Post-PTH group. The animals were euthanized 8 weeks after tooth extraction. Macroscopic, histological, micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), and histomorphometric examinations were conducted. The incidences of impaired healing were 11.11% both in Pre-PTH and Post-PTH groups, which was lower than the Control group (42.86%). Bone healing in the extraction socket, based on micro-CT and histomorphometry evaluations, was best in Post-PTH and worst in Control group. The Pre-PTH group showed moderate healing pattern. Despite of limitations in this study, the authors identified Pre-PTH group seems to have positive effect on extraction socket healing. With regard to timing, administering iPTH after tooth extraction was superior to applying it before tooth extraction.

Background: Population-based studies have shown good correlation between severity of atherosclerotic disease in one arterial bed and involvement of other vessels. However, in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), it remains unclear whether atherosclerotic plaque in an artery might regress or progress in parallel with other vessels. Accordingly, the present study was performed in patients with CAD to compare changes in plaque volume (PV) between the left main (LMT) and right coronary arteries (RCA), thoracic descending aorta (TDA) and common carotid artery (CCA), and to clarify clinical factors and biomarkers which might affect changes in PV in each artery. Methods: Using 64-multislice computed tomography, PVs in each artery were determined before and after 2.0-year follow-up period in 52 patients with CAD (67.4±9.9yo). Based on our previous study using ultrasound, CCA-PV was determined at windows of 90–240HU and TDA-PV determined manually. Coronary soft plaque was determined at windows of 0–75HU. Plasma levels of hsCRP, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 and urinary 8-iso-prostaglandin F2 α (PGF) were determined at baseline. Results: At baseline, PVs of TDA were correlated with CCA-PV (r=0.38, p<0.02), but PVs of other arteries did not correlate to each other. Two-year later, PVs of LMT, RCA, TDA, and CCA were reduced in 41, 62, 27, and 39% of patients, respectively. Changes in LMT-PV were weakly related with those of TDA-PV (r=0.37, p=0.02) and RCA-PV (r=0.31, p=0.08), but there were no relation between other arteries. The multivariate analysis revealed that treatment with statin and low LDL-cholesterol (C, <100mg/dl) were independent variables regarding a reduction in DTA-PV, but, in LMT, only low LDL-C was independent variable. However, there were no independent variables in RCA or CCA. The ratio of soft PV to total PV was similar between LMT (45.2±7.1%) and RCA (45.7±4.9%) at baseline and was unchanged in the follow-up study. None of hsCRP, MMP-9 or PGF levels was related with PVs of any arteries at baseline and with changes in PVs. Conclusions: Regression of PV in one arterial bed dose not necessarily allow us to predict atherosclerotic changes in the other vessels. Major factors which affect changes in PV may not be homogeneous between arteries.
