To numerically solve a problem of stress-strain state of a workpiece metal under roll forming, finite element analysis was used that allowed using the principle of elastic-plastic deformations with a multilinear hardening curve. Numerical results of base metal lift have been analyzed and the adhesion strength of antifriction coatings and a steel base has been determined. Some recommendations have been made on optimal diameter choice of a workpiece subjected to the skew mesh roll forming

The article presents a study of the adhesive strength of adhesion of thin solid antifriction coatings. A brief analysis of existing methods for determining the adhesive strength of thin anti-friction coatings is performed. The method is described and experiments are carried out using a universal-purpose breaking machine with an electronic force meter IR5047-50 and a portable ad-hesive meter of the «Constant A» model. A number of quantitative estimates of the adhesion strength of the antifriction coating with the base are obtained. Conclusions are made about the adhesion strength of the coating and methods for determining its adhesion. Recommendations on the application of methods for determining the adhesive strength of thin solid antifriction coatings are given.

The paper is dedicated to the investigation of adhesion strength in film coatings. The goal of the work is a qualitative estimate of the strength of film antifriction coatings applied on friction units of machines. The topicality is grounded by the fact that the friction decrease on surfaces in units ensures the increase of life, power effectiveness and reliability of machinery. Most of the works are dedicated to the study of manufacturing films, their phase composition, structure, stress-strain properties, whereas in the material offered the adhesion properties of film antifriction coating are emphasized, which is a sufficient novelty. During the investigations of the adhesion strength of antifriction film coatings there was used a method of a normal detachment. To carry out comparative tests there were prepared four groups of different antifriction coatings. For each coating under testing there were prepared five samples which were loaded with the smooth increase of a breaking tension. Therefore there are obtained experimental dependences of normal stresses (σ) upon relative elongation (ε), which allow using values obtained for surfaces coated with antifriction film coatings with different areas. Upon completion of coating tests both parts of the samples tested were subjected to visual analysis. In the course of the analysis a character of destruction was defined. As a result of the theoretical and experimental investigations carried out there were drawn conclusions describing a qualitative and quantitative estimate of the adhesion strength of antifriction film coating.

The article examines, using the example of the laboratory work «Dismantling an internal combustion engine», the acquisition of skills in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles from students of transport specialties. The methodology of laboratory work and methodological support is presented. Based on the testing of students, a conclusion was made about the possibility and ef-fectiveness of conducting full-scale laboratory work. Recommendations on laboratory work for students of transport and related specialties are given.

The article presents the results of a study of the influence of inertial forces on the adhesion of the coating to the external surface of a body of revolution during thermal spraying. A mathematical apparatus is proposed for calculating the inertia forces, acting on a particle of coating, applied to the outer surface of the bodies of revolution. As a result, dependencies have been revealed that allow predicting the adhesion strength of the coating with the steel base during thermal spraying.

Carbon monoxide was one of the indicators of air pollution that most often comes from motor vehicles. Indirectly, increasing the number of motorcycles would be followed by an increase in the number of workshops that provide maintenance services. The process of maintenance and repair in the workshop causes carbon monoxide (CO) levels in the air to be higher from the standard so it was easily inhaled by workers and the internal mechanism reacts became carboxyhemoglobin (HbCO). This study aims to analyze the effect of CO levels in the workshop air and smoking habits of workers on HbCO levels in the blood of workshop mechanic workers. This research was an observational analytic study with 18 respondents as workshop mechanic workers who were male. Respondents in this study were identified based on age, years of service, length of work, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and nutritional status. The results showed that most respondents aged 25-36 years -old (38,9%), had a year of service ≥ 5 years (55,6%), had smoking habits (72,2%), did not use PPE (88,9%) and had a normal nutritional status (47,2%). CO levels in the air had a significant correlation on HbCO levels (p <0,000) as well as smoking habits also had a significant correlation on HbCO levels (p <0,000). It was recommended for workers to reduce smoking habits, improved healthy lifestyles, and used masks to reduce exposure to pollutants.

The application of the anti-friction coating of babbitt on the working surface of sliding bearings is an important technological procedure necessary both for their manufacture and for their repair. To extend the service life and restore the performance of bearings, the coating is preferably applied by gas-dynamic spraying, The coating formed by this method has a low porosity, high adhesion strength and low friction coefficient.
