The high prevalence of infertility motivated researchers to find a solution, henceforth In Vitro Fertilization was invented. Factors that affect the outcome of IVF may include sperm analysis, maternal Body Mass Index (BMI), maternal smoking habits, endometriosis, and maternal age. However, there are ongoing debates about the role of said factors regarding the outcome of IVF. The objective of this research is to analyze those factors. This research is a Case-Control study with an analytical observational design. Data were retrieved from patients’ medical records undergoing IVF in Graha Amerta Fertility Clinic from January 2019-October 2020. First, the Chi-Square Test revealed sperm abnormality (p=0.212), Maternal BMI (p=0.427), endometriosis (p=0.067), meaning there was no connection with the outcome of IVF. Simultaneously, maternal age (p=0.037) showed a connection with the outcome of IVF. From the Binary Logistic Regression Test, maternal age 36-40 years old (p=0.044) affects the outcome of IVF significantly. Concurrently maternal BMI, endometriosis, and sperm abnormality have p value>0.05 meaning it is insignificant to the outcome of IVF. This research concluded that sperm abnormality, maternal BMI, and endometriosis do not affect the outcome of IVF. There was no data about maternal smoking habits. Whilst maternal age affects the outcome of IVF. Conclusion: This research concluded that sperm abnormality, maternal BMI, and endometriosis do not affect the outcome of IVF. There was no data about maternal smoking habits. Whilst maternal age affects the outcome of IVF.

Abstract Background Little is known regarding the role of gender as a possible modulator in determining the associations between lifestyle risk factors and depression in older adults. Objectives This study examined whether gender modulates the relationship between depression and lifestyle risk factors in Korean adults aged 65 years and older (n = 3700). Methods Data were obtained from the 2016 and 2018 Korea National Health and Examination Survey. The primary outcome was depression, assessed with the patient health questionnaire-9. As exposures, smoking habits, at-risk alcohol consumption, and physical inactivity were assessed with a standardized questionnaire. In addition, mean adequacy ratio (MAR) as an indicator of overall nutritional inadequacy was assessed with dietary intakes of macro- and micronutrients. Results In men only, either two or three and more risk factors were significantly associated with higher depression risk (OR (95% confidence interval, CI) = 2.886 (1.003–8.299) and OR (95% CI) = 3.109 (1.064–9.097), respectively). In women only, either two or three and more risk factors were also significantly associated with higher depression risk (OR (95% CI) = 1.505 (1.067–2.124) and OR (95% CI) = 2.828 (1.527–5.239), respectively). In particular, the presence of smoking habits and MAR were the major determinants of depression (OR (95% CI) = 1.835 (1.09–3.10) and OR (95% CI) = 1.585 (1.125–2.233), respectively) in women only. Finally, a moderation analysis with the Hayes PROCESS Macro showed a significant moderating effect of gender (β (95% CI) = 0.633 (0.206 ~ 1.060)) on the relationship between risk factors and depression. In addition, the slope of the relationship was much steeper in women than in men. Conclusion Current findings suggest that lifestyle risk factors are more closely associated with depression risk in women than in men.

Background: There are a wide number of assessments suggesting that being a member of a religious community inhibits adolescents’ risky behaviours and, consequently, can act as a protective factor against the consumption of smoking substances. Methods: We have analysed a structured questionnaire answered by 1935 adolescents from Tarragona (Spain). Results: We have found that variables linked to family were the principal explanatory factors of adolescents’ smoking habits. Living with two parents was a protective factor against tobacco and cannabis use since its Incidence Rate Ratio (IRR) was clearly below 1 (p<0.01). So, whereas living with one parent showed an IRR>1 (p<0.05), adolescents that live without parents presented an IRR close 2 (p<0.05 for tobacco and p<0.01 for cannabis). However, having a religious confession also influence smoking substance use in adolescents (IRR close 0.85 with p<0.01). Conclusion: We found a clear preventive effect in belonging to a religious community. Moreover, this protective effect was less intense, but not statistically significant, for Catholics than for members of other confessions.

Loneliness is a distressing feeling that can be a barrier to a student’s development and affect their mental health. This research aimed to analyse the effects of loneliness on psychological and behavioral factors among students aged 12–19 years in Spain. Loneliness, experiential avoidance, psychological inflexibility, physical activity, mobile phone use, and smoke habits were analysed in a sample of 110 men and 122 women assigned into two groups depending on their loneliness levels: higher loneliness group (HLG) and lower loneliness group (LLG). Results showed that experimental avoidance and psychological inflexibility were related with loneliness (r = 0.471; p = 0.000). Experiential avoidance and psychological inflexibility were higher in HLG than LLG. Regarding the use of mobile phones and smoking habits, LLG presented significantly higher values than HLG. Higher age correlated with lower loneliness values (r = −0.155; p = 0.017). The present research found how students with higher loneliness presented higher experiential avoidance and psychological inflexibility and lower age, use of mobile phone, and smoking habits. These findings reveal the importance of considering multiple social behaviours when examining adolescent mental health factors.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Arterio-Venous Fistula Obstruction on Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease Ismail MT1, Hariawan H1, Wardhani Y2, Puspitasari M2, Artayasa IPA1, Ramadhan G1, Tarigan T1, Triatmaja R1   1Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, 55284, Indonesia 2Department of Internal Medicine Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada-RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta Indonesia   ABSTRACT Aim: AV fistula obstruction has become one of the main vascular access complications in patients undergoing haemodialysis. This complications have significant impacts on the morbidity and mortality of dialysis patients while also leading to higher medical costs. Clinical monitoring has been routinely used for early detection of AV fistula stenosis and obstruction, however screening with Doppler ultrasound is still not a routine recommendation. This study aims to know prevalence and risk factors of AV Fistula obstruction detected by Duplex ultrasound examination.   Methods: This study was a hospital-based descriptive analytic study with cross sectional design conducted at the haemodialysis center of National General Hospital Dr. Sardjito, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Patient demographic and clinical risk factor were recorded using direct interview. AV fistula obstruction were assessed using Duplex ultrasound by professional sonographer.   Results: Seventy four (74) patients are using AV fistula as entry access for hemodialysis in RSUP dr. Sardjito. It is consist of 39 male (53%) and 35 Female (47%). The mean age of patients is 50 years old. Surveillance using Doppler ultrasound found 20 patients (27%) have stenotic AV Fistula. Smoking habits (OR 5.37, 95% CI, 1.760 - 16.431, p=0.002) and diabetes mellitus (OR 5.00, 95% CI, 1.631 – 15.503, p=0.004) increase risk for having stenotic AV fistula. Only 4 patient (20 %) of all 20 patient with stenotic AV fistula were symptomatic, and needed for further vascular intervention   Conclusion: Prevalence of AV fistula obstruction detected by Doppler ultrasound was 27% of all AV fistula patient with only 5% had symptomatic AV fistula failure. Smoking habits and diabetes mellitus are important risk factor for AV fistula obstruction. Asymptomatic AV fistula obstruction often goes undetected by clinical monitoring that can increase of risk of symptomatic AV fistula obstruction in the future. The further study is needed to determine level recommendation of routine AV fistula surveillance with Doppler Ultrasound.   Key words: AV Fistula obstruction, CKD, Doppler ultrasound surveillance, Risk factors, Prevalence
