Lately, value stream mapping (VSM) is integrated with tools and techniques that belong to other areas of knowledge such as risk management (RM). It is well known tool in showing the value, value stream and the flow which represents three of lean manufacturing (LM) principles. This integration, gives more benefit in covering two of VSM issues such as considering the variability and uncertainty of production processes. In this paper, a model named variable value stream mapping (V-VSM) that integrates the two was showed, explained and tested. The model helps to generate the VSM in a dynamic way with the identification of current and potential risks. These risks might happen in the future bringing a strong impact on not reaching the main objectives in the defined time and cost. The model has been tested by conducting a case study in food sector. A current state map was built using both models, traditional VSM and VVSM. The results showed the effect of variability and uncertainty on the total cycle time (CT) and lead time (LT) values, where the traditional VSM failed to show it by being a static tool. Comparing the results of both models show the differences in presenting the real state of manufacturing environment..

In the world of business special attention is paid to entrepreneurs for their potential and large corporations for their impact on the market. Due to this, small businesses often fall short of resources and tools to help them grow. The aim of this dissertation is to introduce a framework for decision making to small businesses as a tool to help embed more structure into their organization. The framework was then applied to two distinct case studies to display its functionality and usefulness. The framework consists of several steps: 1) corporate plan and financial assessment 2) a current state analysis 3) a quantitative and mathematical feasibility study of the decision The framework in each case study resulted in an objective and qualified decision. It also suggests that, due to the unique structure and characteristics of each small business, the framework proposed would only be relevant and applicable on a general level and more work is required to refine the details in order to be able apply it universally to business entities with limited working capital.

Cinematography is one of the least studied and emerging areas of research in public administration. The main principles of state policy in the field of cinema are support for domestic cinema and providing access to Kazakhstani film products. The purpose of the article is to analyze the topical problems of domestic cinematography, taking into account the principles of state policy in the field of cinematography. The methodological basis of the research is based on scientific works on the issues under consideration, regulatory legal acts. The work used the official statistics of services in the field of cinema. A factorial analysis of the current state of the film industry was carried out using the analytical tool PEST-analysis. In addition, a discursive analysis of the representation of ideas of state policy in modern Kazakhstani cinema was carried out. Modern Kazakhstani films of the last 10 years were considered as additional materials. The study showed that the support of national films is an important direction in the public administration in the field of cinematography. Socially significant films have non-commercial, spiritual and artistic value. Financial profit belongs to commercial films of private companies. The sharp decline in industry statistics confirms that the global pandemic in 2020 was a tough time for the film industry. Further development of the industry should be a common task not only of the state, but also of all interested parties.

This paper explores driver behavior in a paired car-following mode in response to a speed disturbance from a front vehicle. A current state– control action–expected state (SAS) chain is developed to provide a framework for modeling of the hierarchy of expected actions incurred during the need for speed disturbance absorption. Three car-following scenarios and one lane-changing scenario are identified with defined perceptual informative variables to describe the process of speed disturbance absorption. Those variables include dynamic spacing versus the follower's speed, disturbance-effecting and -ending spacing, headway, acceleration– deceleration, speed recovery period, speed advantage, and lane-changing duration. A significant improvement in car-following modeling introduced in the paper is the integration of car-following and lane-changing behaviors in the SAS chain. Moreover, critical values of perceptual informative variables are statistically developed as a function of the follower's speed by using observed vehicle trajectory data. Furthermore, models that determine the probability of a lane change in response to a speed disturbance and models for acceptable lane-changing decision-making conditions at the adjacent lanes are developed on the basis of the analysis of observed vehicle trajectory data. The work presented in this paper provides an analysis of speed disturbance and speed absorption phenomena and car-following and lane-changing behaviors at the microscopic level. This work establishes the foundation for further research on multiple speed disturbance absorption and its impact on traffic stabilities at the macroscopic analysis level.

AbstractHere we review recent progress in cooling micro-/nanoelectronic devices significantly below 10 mK. A number of groups worldwide are working to produce sub-millikelvin on-chip electron temperatures, motivated by the possibility of observing new physical effects and improving the performance of quantum technologies, sensors and metrological standards. The challenge is a longstanding one, with the lowest reported on-chip electron temperature having remained around 4 mK for more than 15 years. This is despite the fact that microkelvin temperatures have been accessible in bulk materials since the mid-twentieth century. In this review, we describe progress made in the last 5 years using new cooling techniques. Developments have been driven by improvements in the understanding of nanoscale physics, material properties and heat flow in electronic devices at ultralow temperatures and have involved collaboration between universities and institutes, physicists and engineers. We hope that this review will serve as a summary of the current state of the art and provide a roadmap for future developments. We focus on techniques that have shown, in experiment, the potential to reach sub-millikelvin electron temperatures. In particular, we focus on on-chip demagnetisation refrigeration. Multiple groups have used this technique to reach temperatures around 1 mK, with a current lowest temperature below 0.5 mK.
