Abstract In the execution of product development projects, deviation in time, budget and quality must be avoided. The expectations on these outcomes are high, especially in commodity-type projects, where most of the project content is assumed known upfront. On the other hand, increasingly complex project environments face constantly changes, where shift in scope is more the rule than the exception. In this study, we cluster factors assumed pushing the project boundaries of exploration in terms of innovation, complexity and newness. We pose an initial hypothesis that dealing with unplanned changes, or ‘newness’, has an overall negative outcome on project outcomes, despite the underlying intentions. It is also hypothesized that learning capabilities of the product development team is a major factor for successfully dealing with the dynamics of newness. To test both hypothesizes, we first developed and executed a survey involving 10 manufacturing companies. The participants were asked to rate 25 statements related to innovation, complexity and newness, and their perceived impact on overall project success. The results show a clearly negative correlation between successful projects and newness. To test the second hypothesis, the single statements for ‘newness’ was divided into positive and negative learning. The term ‘negative learning’ is used when stress occurs and therefore knowledge and abilities are not properly developed. Positive learning describes on the other hand if motivation is high and active learning occurs. The results show that newness statements related to positive learning has a positive impact on project outcomes, whereas negative learning has a negative impact on project success.

As a result of covid-19, the Tokyo Olympics was postponed to 2021, as well as the implementation of the European Cup (UEFA Cup) 2020 was postponed to 2021. At the national level the holding of the XX Papua 2020 PON, which was planned to be held in October 2020, was postponed to 2021. Likewise with the termination of the Indonesian football league since March 14, 2020. From the aspect of sports culture, sports infrastructure and facilities are closed, gym, futsal court, tennis court, public swimming pool. Not to mention the impact on the sports equipment industry. Even so, on the other hand, the Covid-19 pandemic also encourages people to have a culture of healthy living by doing regular exercise independently. This means that Covid-19 on the one hand has had a devastating negative impact, but on the other hand it also has a positive impact. By looking at the impact of Cobvid-19 through 5 dimensions of the impact of Thomas R. Dye's policies, it is hoped that the impact of Covid-19 on the national sports system as a whole can be explained, so that handling efforts can also be formulated with comprehensive and effective policies.

This study aims to investigate the factors that affect the success of Vietnam’s State-owned enterprises’ (SOEs) equitization. Using a unique sample of equitization of unregulated SOEs in Vietnam from January 2010 to April 2016, we find that age, valuation, and gross margin of the SOEs are significant determinants of the success of the equitization. Specifically, in contrast with prior literature, age is found to have a negative impact on the success of the equitization. On the other hand, valuation and gross margin have a positive impact on the success of the equitization.

The present study is an attempt to explore the impact of trade liberalisation on employment and wages of production and non-production workers in large scale manufacturing industries of Pakistan. We use a sample of 18 industrial establishments with a time series data covering a period 1970-71 to 2005-06. In order to account for endogeniety problem, this study uses the Generalised Method of Moments (GMM). The study comes up with the findings that trade liberalisation has significantly negative impact on employment of both production and non-production workers. On the other hand, trade liberalisation has a significantly positive impact on wages of production workers, but it has no significant impact on wages of non-production workers. The negative impact of trade is attributed to the high protection given to most of the inefficient industries in the post liberalisation period. On the other hand, reduction in non-production worker employment is not unexpected as in case of developing country like Pakistan, trade liberalisation is supposed to displace capital intensive industries that employ most of the non-production (skilled) workers. This article discusses the problem of Islamic education from a theological and sociological point of view. The emergence of normative and verbalist Islamic education curriculum distorts the universality of Islam. Islam that is contextual in space and time, always in contact with sociological aspects, should be understood as something that can change its partiality dynamics continuously, even though there is a universal thing that is maintained as a normative belief. On the other hand, the failure of education to produce educational output that is dignified and virtuous has caused some people to distrust the world of education in developing the character and ethics of children. The vote of disbelief is getting stronger with the emergence of the National curriculum model which gives a greater portion of general subjects than religious subjects. This paper is a criticism of the development of the world of education in Indonesia, with the hope that education stakeholders make changes to the education system and the applicable curriculum.

This paper provides an empirical assessment of the relationship between banking origins and the supply of credit in Ivory Coast. The analysis focuses on 14 banks composed of local banks, African banks and foreign banks outside Africa. The study covers the period from 2000 to 2016. Using the panel data approach, we show that local banks positively influence the supply of credit unlike foreign and African banks. Foreign banks, on the other hand, have a negative influence on the supply of credit in Ivory Coast. In addition, the results highlight the positive impact of growth and market share on the supply of credit to the private sector. On the other hand, the size of banks and the inflation rate are unfavourable to the supply of credit in Ivory Coast. The study suggests that local banks should be strengthened so that they can provide more financing to the Ivorian economy.

The activities of misbehaving customers represent a significant problem for organizations across diverse sectors and industries. Their need for satisfaction is the most important driver of consumer behavior with the consumer choosing how they fulfill this need. Unfortunately, consumer decisions often lead to consumer misbehavior and negative effects on the service provider or on other consumers. Consumer misbehavior is difficult to control. First, it is not always possible to prove misbehavior of a particular consumer. On the other hand, preventive actions, like social campaigns, may not always reach the target audience. Moreover, neither service provider regulations nor monitoring of infrastructure sufficiently prevents consumers from misbehaving in every case. It seems, however, that the consumers who reject the fraudulent behavior of others have a crucial role in the fight against consumer misbehavior, as they are constant observers of this phenomenon and can react immediately. The aim of this article, therefore, is to present the concept of consumer misbehavior with examples relating to the tourism market. Moreover, the attitudes of consumers towards consumer misbehavior are examined through nethnographic research.
