A systematization of a workshop course that took place in 2018 in the ejido of Nuevo Ideal, Durango, with the aim of agreeing actions to start a management plan, is presented. The workshop derived from work done to provide producers with tools and techniques that are useful for livestock exploitation, in addition to raising awareness of the need for actions for the protection and conservation of the natural resources offered to them by summer pasture ecosystems. The workshop was designed with five themes: Our Ejido, Livestock Management Plan, Grazing System, Infrastructure and Agreements. It is important to note that the agreement between PRONATURA northwest and the ejido for the implementation of a program that will help in the grazing system was the product of the workshop. The document is divided into three parts: Ejido, Design and implementation of the workshop, and Conclusions.

Throughout the millennia, project management methodologies were developed, and as projects were completed, both theoreticians and practitioners contributed to the development of project management science and codification. Throughout this time, project management science grappled with the problem of delineating project activities from on-going operational activities. Projects require project management while operations require business process management or operations management (PMI, 2008). In the project methodology world, a project is defined as unique, temporary, a definite start and finish (PMI, 2008). Without this definition, the science of project management cannot be applied. It is this definition that provides the credence for the creation and application of project management processes, tools, and techniques. However, the science of project management exists irrespective of a project. In fact, it is the application of project management to any endeavor that creates a project. Effective project management that will drive the design and implementation of transformational e-Government must be enhanced. This chapter proposes project management enhancements to the design, direction, management, and implementation of e-Government projects that focus on project problems rather than methodological processes. The enhanced project management solution provides the tools and educates the user to take into account the impact of the holistic, synergistic challenges and barriers that surround and influence e-Government projects – heretofore, in an unmanageable way that has inhibited change instead of promoting it. The enhanced project management solution is “exogenous” of the e-Government solution; it is its external driver.

Abstract E-government public services in Romania must follow unitary procedures considering the new requirements of the European Union from the Digital Agenda for Europe Strategy 2020. E-government 2.0 has to be implemented because of the cultural and behavioral transformations in the interaction between governments and users of e-services. E-government 2.0 projects use tools and techniques of social media to accomplish their goals. This article examines the possible risk categories and the risk management procedures needed to mitigate risks in future Romanian e-government projects, according to the strategic lines of development for the Digital Agenda. We propose a risk management plan for the e-government lines of action within the strategic lines of development that includes identifying, assessing, and mitigating the risks. New and modernized government services through e-government 2.0 projects that apply risk management will bring a significant improvement in how citizens and businesses relate to government and will increase the use of e-government services.

This paper reports the description of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) methodology design and implementation in an industrial system, where it could be used as a tool to assure products quality, and as a mean to improve operational performance of the production cycle. The work was developed in a Romanian sugar factory, in co-operation with part of the internal staff, chosen as FMEA team members, and it was focused on the study of the crystal sugar lines. All the work done permits to increase company’s knowledge and the control of the capacity on processes and products. The FMEA methodology operated in different production phases allowed to study and analyse every single step of production cycle and to achieve an exhaustive knowledge and improvement of products and processes.

Despite a well-documented need for school health programs (SHPs) among schoolchildren, there is little school health funding in California and limited research on the role of those who manage SHPs. This qualitative study investigated the work of a selected group of school health administrators (SHAs) in California. Study aims were to explore SHA job pathways and responsibilities, the contextual factors influencing their work, and how they get their work done, given limited funding for SHPs. Thirty in-depth, semistructured interviews were conducted with SHAs and their staff, supervisors, and deputy SHAs. The main themes and subthemes are (1) district hierarchies marginalize SHAs and (2) in response to this marginalization, SHAs engage in brokering strategies to get their work done, including (a) raising awareness, (b) cultivating powerful allies, and (c) adjusting to working conditions. Despite structural disempowerment, SHAs have developed strategies to secure political support for SHPs and school nurses.

This paper is based on an empirical work done by author on a series of case studies such us document studies and analyzing the best practices examples. The objective of this research is to find out barriers to reach regional waste management plan demands in three municipalities: Salacgriva, Saulkrasti and Ikskile. Author gives proposal with some recommendations for development of municipal waste management as well. There are several views and attitudes of local stakeholders such us municipality, waste producers, waste collectors and mediators on how to manage collection and transportation of solid waste in practice as well as on public involvement in the process.. Passivity of stakeholders to realize theirs needs and requirements mainly depend on the limited human and financial resources, but often political will, skepticism or lack of knowledge. A lot of problems could be solved faster and easier, if there existed better communication and collaboration among local stakeholders.

<div> <p>The PRIMAVERA project aims to develop a new generation of advanced and well evaluated high-resolution global climate models. An integral component of PRIMAVERA is a new set of simulations at standard and high-resolution from seven different European climate models. The expected data volume is 1.6 petabytes, which is comparable to the total volume of data in CMIP5.  </p> </div><div> <p>A comprehensive Data Management Plan (DMP) was developed to allow the distributed group of scientists to produce and analyse this volume of data during the project’s limited time duration. The DMP uses the approach of taking the analysis to the data. The simulations were run on HPCs across Europe and the data was transferred to the JASMIN super-data-cluster at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. A Data Management Tool (DMT) was developed to catalogue the available data and allow users to search through it using an intuitive web-based interface. The DMT allows users to request that the data they require is restored from tape to disk. The users are then able to perform all their analyses at JASMIN. The DMT also controls the publication of the data to the Earth System Grid Federation, making it available to the global community. </p> </div><div> <p>Here we introduce JASMIN and the PRIMAVERA data management plan. We describe how the DMT allowed the project’s scientists to analyse this multi-model dataset. We describe how the tools and techniques developed can help future projects.</p> </div>
