The discussion of translation used by students has been investigated long time ago in which the setup of the Second Language Development was firstly established, i.e around 1900s. Many Error Analyses on translation have been analyzed by linguists which become the valuable contributions towards the study of translation. This study deals with error analysis of students’ project on translations of English Department of UNIMED so that there could be drawn some factors that make students are in difficulty in translating texts idiomatically. Qualitative method is used in analyzing this study and all the data are taken from students’ projects and worksheets on translation. Among factors that cause students are in difficulty in translating texts idiomatically are less understanding the meanings of the texts, do not fully master the lexicogrammar, do not understand the language concepts, social context, language use, etc.

School bullying has been a perennial phenomenon and in recent years several studies have been conducted to investigate its consequences on those involved. School bullying is defined as a form of aggressive behavior in which one or more students engage in physical or psychological violence against a student repeatedly and for a long time, consciously, to cause physical or mental pain. The purpose of our research is to investigate the interpretations of Primary education teachers in the island of Lesvos. We use symbolic interaction to interpret the meanings that are produced, exchanged, and intertwined in the social context of school. In the present study, the qualitative method was used, its main feature being the interpretive and naturalistic approach to social reality. Teachers, as actors subject to a structurally defined environment of school bullying interpretations, have incomplete knowledge of its conceptualization, but 'established' criteria for discriminating and delimiting 'divergent' behavior, which can, however, raise problems in terms of categorization.

Human is a part of language development. Human use language in every aspects of life, including in cyberspace. Cyberspace give a lot of ease in interaction and expressing yourself that sometimes people didn’t realize breaking the rules of language use. Twitter is one of social media that provided in cyberspace. Verified twitter account is an account that is consider to have part or influence in the society. The owner of the account can be individual or institution.The objective of this research is to get information about language error in verified twitter account, explain the error and correct it. The research method that used is descriptive analysis. The researcher collect evidences as much as possible and then analyze them. The hesitation to speak English in the class was the crucial problem that occurred in semester seven students of the English Department of Timor University. This study figured out the discouraging points that influence the students' eagerness to speak English in the class, the most dispiriting factors, and the attempt that they executed to overcome their problem. The subject of the study was 30 semester seven students of the English Department of Timor University. The qualitative method was employed to analyze the data in this study. Interview and questionnaire were applied as the instruments to obtain the data. The result of the study pinpointed that there were internal and external factors that affect discouraging students in the classroom. The finding also revealed that the most demotivating factors which affected the students' willingness to communicate in English were motivation and confidence. The students also performed a few things to overcome their problems. The conclusion required the students to prompt themselves and be prompted by other people to pursue a good interaction in English.Keywords: demotivating, students, willingness

This special issue commentary draws seven lessons from the four papers on input and bilingual development: (1) the environments in which children become bilingual vary widely, (2) capturing the relevant features of those environments is difficult, (3) input is shaped by the larger social context, (4) language skill is multifaceted, (5) the relation of input to language skill may be different for different facets of language, (6) not just input, but also language use affect language development, (7) studies of the relation of input to bilingual development provide a unique window onto basic processes of language development.

One of phenomena that occur in the educational world is the issue of discrepancies that occur between theory the pre-service teacher learned in college with implementation when they should teach in thereal fields (schools). Problem Based Learning (PBL) becomes one of the efforts to bridge the existing problems. This research is conducted to find out the extend of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in Micro Teaching course since the course must be accomplished by students before carrying out practical activities in the real field in the school at teaching training program. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method. And in this research the writer uses case study as a research design to find out the purpose of the research. The participants of the the research are 8 students from a class of micro teaching course in English Department of Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati. In this paper, The Students as the Pre Service Teacher(s) are coded PST(s). The writer uses observation as the instruments of the research. Theory of Miles and Huberman are used to collect data from observation. Regarding to the discussion above, the four aspects of competences of effective teacher are shown in the teaching practice done by the students of Micro teaching course that apply Problem Based Learning (PBL). The majority results of the observation explain that applying Problem Based Learning in Micro Teaching course develops pre-service teachers competence in their teaching in classroom. This research shows pre-service teachers can integrate their competences and create good performance in their teaching practice.

This research is entitled “The Translation Problem Types in Translating Indonesia textinto English (A Case Study of Translation Subject of Fifth Semester English Department –UPY) . It is about how Indonesia text is translated into English by English students, toidentify the translation problems, and to identify the problematics of translation technique.This research uses qualitative method to analyze the data. Techniques of analyzing datain this research consist of 3 components, they are (1) reducing the data, (2) explaining thedata, and (3) taking a conclusion. Reducing data is a process of selecting, focusing,simplifying and abstracting the data. Explaining the data is a process of organizinginformation and arranging the complete narration. Taking a conclusion is a process ofdrawing conclusion from the data. The data source of this research are Indonesia text andstudent’s translation.After conducting the research, the research find the data that all respondents havesimilar translation problem types in translating Indonesia text into English. The problems arediction, tenses, no equivalence translation; others have problems of adverb, article, andrelative clause. None of respondents apply other translation technique. They only apply wordper word translation technique. The accuracy of transfer level is adequate level. Only onerespondent have almost completely successful transfer level. Other respondents haveadequate accuracy transfer level. By applying the untrue translation technique has an impactto translation accuracy transfer level.This research is expected to open wide opportunities and challenges to academicians,especially those in translation linguistics sphere to deepen their research and study, especiallyin translating Indonesia text to English in order to be a new contribution to the translationfields.

Abstract The  problem  of this research is : How is the language development of children age 12 to 24 months in Semarang ?. The purpose of this study is to describe widely and deeply about language development the children age 12 to 24 in Semarang. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques using Miles Hubermen’s model. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation data. The results showed that the development of language of children aged 12 to 24 months in Semarang in expressive is: can produce sound almost perfect in several words; Some of the letters of the words missing from the pronunciation; The missing letters are usually consonants; Haven't been able to pronounce the letter s and r; In General, most people are able to understand the speech of the children is an adult who is close to the child; There is a word that can be spelled perfectly by the child. The words are by and large is the words that are simple and close to the children's daily lives. As for the generally receptive: children can follow and obey what is spoken by adults; The children seem to understand when the adults were talking about them; and children  can understand  to the words that they  heard more than that they can speak.   Keywords: Language, children, expressive, receptive, word.
