The article is devoted to the analysis of the state and activity of the penal enforcement system to ensure certain areas of internal security. Through the analysis of federal regulatory legal acts and departmental orders, the most significant components of the security system as a factor of its stable functioning in modern conditions are characterized. Various aspects of the category "internal security in the activities of the penitentiary system" are considered. Attention is paid to various theoretical, legal and applied issues of the implementation of internal security functions in the activities of individual departments of the Federal Penitentiary Service. As a conclusion, it is noted that ensuring the internal security of the bodies and institutions of the penitentiary system should be in the sphere of direct implementation of the main tasks and functions of virtually all employees of the penitentiary system.

Povzetek Grožnje nacionalni varnosti se preoblikujejo zelo hitro. Prebivalci države pričakujejo, da se bo nacionalnovarnostni sistem učinkovito in uspešno odzval na te grožnje. Izvedbeno se lahko nacionalnovarnostni sistem države odzove samo tako, da v sistem zagotavljanja nacionalne varnosti vključi vse svoje vire v upanju sinergičnih učinkov. Uporaba oboroženih sil za zagotavljanje notranje varnosti je bila izredna naloga oboroženih sil. Obramba oziroma obrambna sposobnost vojske, ki se izvaja v notranjosti države za notranjo stabilnost in varnost države ob zakonskih in primarno konceptualno določenih nalogah vojske in policije, predstavlja zakonodajni in operacionalizacijski izziv države. Ključne besede Slovenska vojska, Policija, izredna pooblastila vojske, operacionalizacija. Abstract Nowadays, threats to national security are transforming extremely rapidly. The people of a country expect the national security system to respond effectively and successfully to these threats. Implementation-wise, a country's national security system can only respond by including all its resources in the national security system hoping to achieve synergistic effects. The use of the armed forces to ensure internal security was an extraordinary task of the armed forces. The defence and the defence capacity of the military, which are in addition to the legal and primarily conceptually determined tasks of the military and the police aimed at ensuring internal stability and national security in the interior of the country, represent a legislative and operational challenge of the state. The Police constitute a major element in the state security system. Their operation has both a national and local dimension. The Police have an impact on a local community’s security, ensuring the safety of people, their health, life, property, as well as maintaining public safety and order. The arrival of information and communication technologies is nothing new. The number of people using these technologies and moving in cyberspace is growing, and therefore it is an important role of the state to respond sufficiently to such developments. A fundamental role of the state is to create a stable security system consisting of complex legislation as well as creation of a legislative environment capable of responding flexibly to the growing number of diverse incidents in cyberspace. Sufficient legal regulation consisting of unambiguous determination of competencies and tasks of individual subjects represents the basic pillar for the creation of a stable security system. The role of the state is also to maintain existing and create new partnerships with organizations that are able to provide relevant information and knowledge in the field of cyber security.

The house is the most valuable asset, therefore security at home is also very important. Therefore a home security system is created that combines a microcontroller with an Android smartphone application. The microcontroller used is the Raspberry Pi which is equipped with a camera as a home security monitoring system and various sensors as detectors such as magnetic, PIR sensors and solenoids as automatic door locks. So if the sensors that are installed detect something at home, then the homeowner will immediately get a notification sent by the database to the smartphone application, and the homeowner can monitor the state of the house right then through photos and videos recorded by cameras that have been installed at home.

Governance, the world over, has become the main framework for assessing the effective utilization of human and material resources for the development of a nation or an organization. This paper explores the link between governance failure, violence and its implication for internal security in Rivers State. The level of violence in the state is high and increasing particularly since 1999 when the nation returned to civil rule. Violence such as inter and intra communal conflicts, cult violence, armed robbery, kidnapping, political violence among others, now writ large in the state. The study utilized the qualitative and content analysis. The paper reveals that the pervasive nature of violence with negative effect on the internal security is the fall out of the failure of the governance in the state. The paper recommends, among other things that, good governance is a tool for empowering the people, which in turn, will reduce unemployment, poverty, marginalization and the recourse to violent aggression in the state.

The paper assesses the existing approaches to the problem of assessing the security of hazardous facilities. It is proposed to carry out an assessment using the system of modeling and calculating the state of protection of hazardous objects developed on the basis of the Clements-Hoffman method, in which a set of threats, protection mechanisms and objects of protection are used to describe the system of protection with full overlap. This system can be used to calculate any type of protection of hazardous objects when entering data on any threats and appropriate means of protection. The paper provides a block diagram of the security system, a functional diagram, the main parameters and stages of development and testing.
