Stroke has a deadly domino effect and is the number one cause of neurological defects in the world. Stroke patients can experience neurological deficits including cognitive impairment and disruption in fulfilling functional status reducing patient outcome. This literature review aims to identify the appropriate intervention to improve patient outcome among stroke patients. The authors conducted a literature search using several databases, namely ProQuest, EBSCO, Sage, and Science Direct from 2008 to 2018. The keywords appropriateness in the search were “stroke-patient”, “nursing intervention”, “patient outcome”. The literature search showed there are several nursing interventions for stroke patients that have an effect on increasing patient outcomes, namely intervention of dysphagia management, mobilization exercises, acupressure, cognitive enhancement, and self-management empowerment interventions. Nursing intervention given to stroke patients varies depending on the patient's response that arises as a result of a disorder related to the function of the part of the brain affected in stroke patients. Nurses through nursing interventions have a role in improving outcomes in stroke patients   Keywords: Nursing Intervention; Patient Outcome; Stroke-Patient

Abstract Abstract 1685 Poster Board I-711 Adult T-cell lymphoma/leukemia (ATLL) is a T-cell malignancy caused by human T-lymphotrophic virus type I (HTLV-I), and its therapeutic outcome is still remains very poor. Therefore, novel therapeutic strategies are needed to improve patient outcome. In this study, we elucidated the therapeutic potential to target anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family proteins for the treatment of ATLL by using ABT-737 (Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, IL, USA), a small molecule inhibitor of Bcl-2, Bcl-XL and Bcl-w. We first validated the rationale of this study by assessing the expression of Bcl-2 family proteins among 25 lymph-node specimens derived from ATLL patients by using immunohistochemistory. Both or either of Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL proteins was highly expressed in 80% of specimens. We next examined the cytotoxicity of ABT-737 against ATLL cell lines. ABT-737 significantly inhibited growth of MT-1, MT-2 and HuT 102 cells with a concentration of 50 percent inhibition (IC50) at 72 h of 2.4, 0.23 and 0.008μM, respectively. We then elucidated the mechanism of growth inhibition induced by ABT-737 using MT-1 and MT-2 cells. ABT-737 induced apoptosis in MT-1, MT-2 cells with cleavage of caspase 9, 3 and PARP. ABT-737 also induced apoptosis in fresh tumor cells derived from patients with ATLL. We next elucidated the potential of ABT-737 to enhance the cytotoxicity induced by conventional chemotherapeutic agents. The interaction between them was evaluated using the Chou-Talalay method by determining the combination index. ABT-737 synergistically enhanced the cytotoxicity and apoptosis induced by either of doxorubicin, vincristine or etoposide, which is a current key drug to treat ATLL. Most importantly, ABT-737 significantly inhibited tumor growth of in vivo ATLL model using SCID mice inoculated by HuT 102 cells subcutaneously. The mean tumor volume, weight and serum level of soluble interleukin-2 receptor á of ABT-737 (100mg/kg/day)-treated mice were significantly lower than those of vehicle-treated mice after treatment for 21 days. Moreover, massive induction of apoptosis in tumors treated by ABT-737 was observed by immunofluorescent TUNEL assay. These results suggest that ABT-737 used either alone or in combination with conventional cytotoxic drugs, represents a promising novel targeted approach to overcome drug resistance and improve patient outcome in ATLL. Primary cardiac sarcomas are rare tumors with a median survival of 6–12 months. Data suggest that an aggressive multidisciplinary approach may improve patient outcome. We present the case of a male who underwent resection of cardiac sarcoma three times from the age of 32 to 34. This report discusses the malignant nature of cardiac sarcoma and the importance of postoperative multidisciplinary care.

Kata Kunci : intervensi keperawatan, self effycacy, keluarga skizofrenia  NURSING INTERVENTION OF FAMILY SELF EFFICACY SKIZOFRENIA PATIENTS ABSTRACTThe family is an affected parent directly from a family member with schizophrenia. Families also suffer from schizophrenia, even schizophrenia is a disorder that can last a lifetime, a heavy and prolonged financial and emotional burden on the family.Families bear the burden of stigma that tends to cling to families that have family members with schizophrenia.Families in treating schizophrenia need self efficacy. Nursing interventions are needed to improve family self-efficacy, strengthen coping strategies, prevent schizophrenia recurrence, improve family function and reduce family burden. This literature review aims to find out which interventions are used against family self-efficacy with schizophrenia. The method used uses a review of articles and nursing journals from 2007 to 2018. The results of various interventions conducted showed significant changes to self efficacy. Conclusions nurses need to know a variety of nursing interventions to family self efficacy to improve the ability of families to care for and receive patients with schizophrenia. Suggestions need to be developed nursing interventions to further improve the family efficacy, including Islamic Spiritual Mindfulness nursing interventions. Keywords: nursing interventions, self effycacy, schizophrenia family

Dysphagia is one of the most important clinical manifestations of stroke and can pose a greater risk of malnutrition for patients during and after hospitalization. The purpose of this research is to review the literature about dysphagia on nutrient intake and malnutrition case in stroke patients. Type of the research is literature review which consist of journals cited the incidence of stroke patients suffered Dysphagia from 2015–2020 year of national and international publication. The result of dysphagia people can only consumed 10–33% of nutrient intake during 2 weeks and 3 months at home. This condition is insufficient for the energy and nutritional needs of the patient and can effect malnutrition case due to dysphagia which is 6-78%. The enteral formula can be obtained to reach energy and nutrients by focusing to the stroke patient treatment. Dysphagia experienced by stroke patient will affect nutrient intake and the malnutrition case. The suggestion of this paper is pointed to the health workers and the family of dysphagia people to concern energy and nutrients needs of the patient regularly.
