The chance to be a leader, open for anyone, both men and women. Although, it cannot be denied, culture still considers that women are weak, inconsistent and only concerned with feelings than logic, so they do not deserve to be a leader. As the world develops, the assumption is a little bit of changes, which gives women chance to be a leader. In the 21st century, women's progress in working world was increased dramatically, because the quality of women is sometimes more than men. Getting a quality and high education, giving women have chance to be leader in organizations / companies. Names such as Susi Pudjiastuti, Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, Grace Tahir, Veronika Linardi, Mary Barra, Gini Rometty, Marillyn Hewson, Sheryl Sandberg, Marissa Mayer are some of the names of women who are able to lead companies and business decision makers. Work decision making is an condition for measuring leaders, women have feminine characteristics which make them able to take business decisions well, by considering rational, realistic, logical, and pragmatic. The mindset that considers leaders only carried out by men has changed step by step. Women can also have character of a leader, such as; give direction, speeches, rhetoric and ideas. Women are not completely weak, they are also able to be a strong foundation in building organizations/ companies. Kesempatan menjadi pemimpin, terbuka bagi siapa saja, baik pria maupun wanita. Meski tidak bisa dipungkiri, budaya masih menganggap perempuan lemah, tidak konsisten dan hanya mementingkan perasaan daripada logika, sehingga tidak pantas menjadi pemimpin. Seiring perkembangan dunia, asumsinya adalah sedikit perubahan, yang memberi peluang bagi perempuan untuk menjadi pemimpin. Pada abad ke-21, kemajuan perempuan dalam dunia kerja meningkat drastis, karena kualitas perempuan terkadang lebih dari laki-laki. Mendapatkan pendidikan yang berkualitas dan tinggi, memberikan perempuan kesempatan untuk menjadi pemimpin dalam organisasi / perusahaan. Nama-nama seperti Susi Pudjiastuti, Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, Grace Tahir, Veronika Linardi, Mary Barra, Gini Rometty, Marillyn Hewson, Sheryl Sandberg, Marissa Mayer adalah beberapa nama perempuan yang mampu memimpin perusahaan dan pengambil keputusan bisnis. Pengambilan keputusan kerja merupakan salah satu syarat untuk mengukur pemimpin, perempuan yang memiliki sifat feminin sehingga mampu mengambil keputusan bisnis dengan baik, dengan mempertimbangkan rasional, realistis, logis, dan pragmatis. Pola pikir yang menganggap pemimpin hanya dilakukan oleh laki-laki berubah sedikit demi sedikit. Wanita juga bisa memiliki karakter seorang pemimpin, seperti; memberi arahan, pidato, retorika dan ide. Perempuan tidak sepenuhnya lemah, mereka juga mampu menjadi fondasi yang kuat dalam membangun organisasi / perusahaan.

Strategic decision-making is one of the most important criteria for organizational success. Therefore, it is vital to have a well-developed decision making process in place. However, one of the greatest challenges facing organizations today is making important and timely business decisions. The focus of this study was to examine critical business intelligence input factors that influenced the decision making process. The business intelligence input factors considered were accessibility, reliability, quality of information, frequency of use, relevance, security, and quality of decisions. The results of this study show that the decision making process is very complex. Based on the analyses of the data, the findings indicate that these factors help determine reasons why managers use business intelligence technology in the decision making process. These findings will help organizations decision makers make better. This can improve the operational and strategic decision making process, thereby creating a competitive advantage for the organization.

The visualisation of information for business decision-making is a relatively understudied area despite the promising benefits. Previous research confirms the value of information visualisation. Still, the mechanisms of the impacts on the quality of information are poorly understood. Therefore, the authors examine the impact of the quality and quantity of information visualisation on the quality of the content and access to information among different types of users and for various types of use. The results show the varying importance of the quality and quantity of visualisation for the quality of information and that there are statistically significant differences between groups of decision-makers and decision-making in various situations. Information visualisation adjustments for different user perceptual types and for various business decision-making situations can increase the quality of information and potentially lead to the faster and more accurate receipt and processing of business information.

A nation's competitiveness has become more and more important in forming government strategy and business decision making. This study proposes an optimization model, instead of regression model or neural network model, to induce rules for dynamic nations' competitiveness based on the Major Competitiveness Indicators of the World Competitiveness Yearbook. Fourteen attributes are used to form the dynamic rules expressed in "IF…THEN…" forms. According to the induced rules, the strategic implications are suggested for various groups of nations to improve or to sustain their competitiveness.

A number of factors must be considered when selecting a convention site. Typically, most selections are based on the decision makers’ knowledge and experience, which may lead to biased decisions based on the decision makers’ subjective judgment. This study establishes decision-making evaluation factors and attributes for convention site selection based on a literature review. After surveying experts’ opinions using questionnaires, we employed the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) to analyze the weighting of the factors and attributes. The results show that of the five evaluation factors, site environment is the most important, followed by meeting and accommodation facilities, local support, extraconference opportunities, and costs. Additionally, the five most important attributes among the 20 evaluation attributes are the suitability of convention facilities, suitability and quality of local infrastructure, climate, city image, and political conflict or terrorist threats.

This chapter analyzes the differences of decision-making process in the EU member countries, caused by differences in main dimensions of national culture of each of them. The influence of different cultural dimensions on decision-making process is explained. Thanks to the application of qualitative research method and deductive approach, there are conclusions about specificities of decision-making process, in particular EU countries. Using the inductive approach, content analysis method and method of synthesis, the EU countries were grouped regarding to the decision-making styles that are the most appropriate in each of them, based on the characteristics of the cultural framework that exist within them. Obtained results may help managers to better understand their decision-maker role in different cultural environment and it would enable them to apply the appropriate decision-making style, which would increase the quality of business decisions that are being made.

Many management scholars believe that the process used to make strategic decisions affects the quality of those decisions. However, several authors have observed a lack of research on the strategic decision-making process. Empirical tests of factors that have been hypothesized to affect the way strategic decisions are made are notably absent (Fredrickson, 1985). This article reports the results of a study that attempts to assess the effects of decision-making circumstances, focusing mainly on the approaches applied and the managerial skills and capabilities the decision makers built on during concrete strategic decisionmaking procedures. The study was conducted in California between September 2005 and June 2006 and it was sponsored by a Fulbright research scholarship grant.

OBJECTIVES/SPECIFIC AIMS: Promote knowledge translation and evidence-informed decision-making by assessing barriers and facilitators to balancing cost and quality of care within the US state of Maryland and nation of Denmark. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: Open-ended and semi-structured key-informant interviews were conducted in 2016 and 2017 among high level decision-makers in Maryland (N=21) and the Danish (N=17) healthcare systems, including hospital, local, regional, and cross-organizational administrators and elected officials. The interviews consisted of questions related to: (1) currently practiced and preferred approaches to resource allocation and development and use of quality performance measures, and (2) preferred sources, formats/styles, modes of information, and decision-making strategies based on a shift from volume to quality-driven care. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: Decision-makers in Maryland expressed the need for collaboration in a changing environment, yet increasingly rely on cost and quality outcomes data to drive decisions and note the struggle to identify credible and useful information. Maryland decision-makers also face challenges in regulating utilization and costs without mandated participation of physician practices within the global budget cap model, which is perceived to be a primary driver of healthcare utilization in the hospital sector. Similarly, decision-makers in Denmark conveyed the importance of quantitative data to aid decisions, however, stress collaboration and dialogue as driving factors and important sources of information. Danish decision-makers also express challenges to wide-spread adoption of a quality-driven approach due to unsustained quality assurance regulatory bodies. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: The findings suggest implementation of value-based healthcare is highly driven and influenced by availability of credible data, which may significantly impact development of policies and innovative cost control strategies, and regulatory oversight to promote adoption of quality measures in decision-making. Furthermore, collaboration within and across healthcare organizations remains a key component to health system improvement as it fosters dialogue and sharing of best practices among stakeholders.

Survival being the rationale for every organisation, there are infinite dynamics which contribute to every organisations growth and survival. Weighing in all the dynamics available, if organisations have to contemplate on the one which acts as catalyst for ultimate survival it is business decision making process. Risk is an inherent ailment that exacerbates organisational decision making ever since the dawn of industrialization, with their reach proliferating ever since. In the present article, the authors articulate the effectiveness of risk assessment models on key business decisions to testify how risk models operate in isolation and when combined together. Authors also analyse the significant effect risk models have on business decision, which serves as justification for organisational efficiency.
