BENDING OF A SUBTLE-FINISHED PLATE ON ELASTIC BASE WITH SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF ITS WORK

In this article, an analytical solution is obtained for the problem of bending a semi-infinite plate on an elastic Winkler base, taking into account incomplete contact with the base and the influence of longitudinal forces applied in the middle plane of the plate. The analytical solution is obtained by the method of generalized solutions using integral Fourier transforms. Any analytical solution is the result, approaching the actual working conditions of the designed structures.

The machine tool dynamics is evaluated under actual working conditions by using a time series technique. This technique develops mathematical models from only one signal, viz., the relative displacement between the cutter and the workpiece. Analysis of the experimental data collected on a vertical milling machine indicates that the new methodology is capable of characterizing the machine tool structure and the cutting process dynamics separately. Furthermore, it can also detect and quantify the interaction between these two subsystems.

AbstractThe intricacy in Lekhnitskii’s available single power series solution for stress distribution around hole edge for both circular and noncircular holes represented by a hole shape parameter ε is decoupled by introducing a new technique. Unknown coefficients in the power series in ε are solved by an iterative technique. Full field stress distribution is obtained by following an available method on Fourier solution. The present analytical solution for reinforced square hole in an orthotropic infinite plate is derived by completely eliminating stress singularity that depends on the concept of stress ratio. The region of validity of the present analytical solution on reinforcement area is arrived at based on a comparison with the finite element analysis. The present study will also be useful for deriving analytical solution for orthotropic shell with reinforced noncircular holes.

According to an example of the broken jib accident of a high pedestal jib crane (HM2564) in a Shipyard Co., Ltd. in Guangdong province, this paper used a finite element software ANSYS to establish a solid model for the jib frame of the crane, calculated the stresses of jib system under various actual working conditions and checked the strengths. Simultaneously, the reasons of broken jib were quantitatively analyzed from the perspective of mechanics. The results show that the strengths of the jib system meet the requirements of safe use under all kinds of working conditions, but the related hoistman incorrectly operated the facility, cables can’t be winded normally in pulleys, thus resulting in that the tensile force of a cable was directly applied on the main jib by pulley spindle and the failure of the jib frame occurred under heavy compressive force of lifting cables.

The mathematical structure of the Fourier transformations of theoretical gravity anomalies of several geometrically simple bodies appears to have distinct advantages in the interpretation of these anomalies. However, the practical application of this technique is dependent upon the transformation of an observed gravity anomaly of finite length. Ideally, interpretation methods similar to those for the transformations of the theoretical gravity anomalies should be developed for anomalies of a finite length. However, the mathematical complexity of the convolution integrals in the transform calculations of theoretical anomaly segments indicate that no general closed analytical solution useful for interpretation is available. Thus, in order to utilize the Fourier transform interpretation method, the data must be of sufficient length for the finite transform to closely approximate the theoretical transforms.

During the early years of the nineteenth century children laboured in factories, down mines, up chimneys, at sea – and in the theatre. In this article, David Haldane Lawrence discusses the portrayal of child labour in the drama of the 1830s and 1840s, concentrating on five plays: The Factory Girl, The Factory Boy, The Dumb Man (or Boy) of Manchester, The Climbing Boy, and The Cabin Boy, whose child heroes extricate themselves from appalling conditions to confront their villainous oppressors, and through coincidental circumstances are elevated to a higher social position. But the realities of child labour are not fully portrayed on the stage, and the working boys of the period remain idealized figures. Here, a comparison is made between this idealization and the actual working conditions of child labourers. The theatricality inherent in the stage representation of child labour is further enhanced by the fact that the leading ‘boy roles’ were usually played by women, and the performances of the cross-dressed specialists in ‘boy roles’ is also discussed, as is the influence on ‘factory boy’ drama of socially relevant fiction, particularly Frances Trollope's novel about child labour, The Life and Adventures of Michael Armstrong the Factory Boy, published in 1840.

Abstract Normal impact of a massive body on a uniformly stretched plate lying on the base is investigated. A hinged round or rectangular plate on an elastic base, or an infinite plate on the surface of an ideal incompressible fluid is considered. The solution to the elastoplastic impact is in good agreement with numerical calculations and experimental data. With a small parameter of elastic collapse, that is, with the developed local plastic deformations, a solution to the problem of impact with rigid-plastic local collapse can be used. Approximate formulas for calculating the main characteristics of rigid-plastic impact are set up.

This essay is preoccupied with a notion that is often embraced in theatre and performance theory: that of the dramaturge as a flexible, in-between figure. Taking into consideration, however, the precarious working and living conditions that freelance dramaturgs are typically subjected to as well as the structural parallels between the flexible dramaturg and the ideal of the agile post-Fordist employee, the article sets out to critically investigate the concept of inbetween-ness. Theoretically, the essay draws on theory formations from theatre and performance theory on new dramaturgies as well as theories from political theory and performance theory concerning the precarious working conditions experienced by a majority of cultural workers today. Empirically, the essay builds on two surveys conducted amongst dramaturgs working in the field of Danish theatre and dance with a view to shedding light on their working conditions, particularly with regards to wages and credit policy. The data obtained in the two surveys is analysed and discussed against the background of the two theoretical strands laid out in the first part of the article. In conclusion, the article ventures the claim that if we wish to create sustainable working conditions for dramaturgs, especially those working on a freelance basis, we need to critically address not only their actual working conditions, but also the notions and concepts through which dramaturgs tend to self-identify.

Relevance. During the pandemic of new coronavirus infection, healthcare professionals have increased occupational risks of exposure to the pathogen SARS-CoV-2, as well as physical and psychological stress, especially when treating Covid patients in “red zones”. Such a change in working conditions wasn’t reflected in the results of a special assessment, which requires the development of an individual scientifically based approach to its organization in conditions equated to emergency situations. Intention. Evaluate the results of a special assessment of working conditions and their compliance with actual working conditions, taking into account the health risks for healthcare professionals taking care of Covid patients.Methodology. We retrospectively conducted a comparative analysis of 295 cards for a special assessment of the working conditions of medical personnel of military medical organizations of therapeutic and infectious profile over 2015–2019, and 266 cards from the same organizations for 2020.Results and Discussion. Study of cards for special assessment of working conditions of medical personnel of military medical organizations for 2015–2020 showed the leading role of biological factors for all categories of medical personnel. Working in the “Red zone” should be assessed as 3.3 (Degree III harmful) based on biological hazard or 4 (dangerous) due to risks of acute occupational diseases and death. This should be reflected in the results of special assessment of working conditions and compensated via reduction of working hours. However, in the context of the pandemic, actual working hours of healthcare professionals exceeded the established 39 hours per week (Article 350 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation), and the medical personnel were allowed to work with the pathogen of Group II pathogenicity without preliminary medical examinations.Conclusion. Analysis of the results of special assessment of the working conditions of medical personnel showed that they do not reflect the actual harmful (dangerous) working conditions of employees involved in providing care to patients with new coronavirus infection in these medical and preventive institutions.

The simulation model of the column system is established in the software of AMESim, and the parameters of the model are set according to the actual working conditions. The simulation curves of each working procedure are obtained, and the simulation results are analyzed. The conclusions will be essential references for the research on the entire support hydraulic system.
