The topic of the presented study is relevant due to a new trend in the development of the education system – digitalization of education, which changes the paradigm of educational relations. Digitalization of the economy in general and education in particular declared in federal strategic documents over the last two decades and until 2024 has been unexpectedly boosted by the quarantine measures taken in spring 2020 and the mass transition of the participants of educational relations into the online format. This topic requires special consideration due to its uniqueness in the context of transforming relations in any field of human activity, especially in the context of human relations transitioning from the analog offline world to the online domain.Aim. The study aims to present theories explaining the changes in educational relations in digital reality and to empirically assess the level of preparedness/unpreparedness of the subjects of educational relations for actual changes in their roles required for constructive digital interaction.Tasks. The authors select theoretical grounds for explaining changes in the educational relations between subjects in the context of digitalization; determine the ideas of participants about the phenomenon of “digitalization of education”; analyze the results of surveys in the logic of expectations of respondents with different characteristics from digitalization of education; compare the results of surveys addressing the problem of digitalization of education before and after the mass transition of school education into online mode.Methods. This study includes a theoretical and an empirical part. The search for an explanatory theory of changes in educational relations focuses on the theoretical substantiation of the phenomenon of changes on the one hand, and on empirical substantiation of the existing problem of a blurry vision of school stakeholders about the phenomenon of digitalization of education on the other hand. The empirical part includes a fragment of a three-stage sociological survey aimed at the preliminary identification of ideas about the phenomenon of digitalization among people of different ages and professional status before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.Results. A “portfolio” of theories that are relevant to the topic of the study and explain the essence of changes in educational relations in the context of digitalization is developed. Definitions of “digitalization of education” and “transformation of educational relations” are provided. The theoretical block, based on the concept of an interdisciplinary approach, is supplemented by empirical data obtained from surveys of more than 1,700 respondents from different regions, different professional status, and different ages, the results of which are used to verify (or refute) the hypothesis about the relevance of changes in educational relations in digital education.Conclusions. The results of empirical research and contextual goals presented in the study do not give grounds for asserting that digitalization of education becomes a trigger for changes in educational relations. This conclusion does not contradict the basic explanatory theory – the theory of liminality. The transition of relations from the usual state to a new one takes time, since it involves the loss of previous statuses (roles) in educational relations, where the understanding of the hierarchy in the structure of these relations is invalidated.

Objective: In recent years, advances in technique as well as a growing public interest in developing and maintaining a healthy and attractive smile, has resulted in a greater understanding of the interrelationships between periodontics and orthodontics. The primary objective of periodontal therapy is to restore and maintain the health and integrity of the attachment apparatus of teeth. In adults, the loss of teeth or periodontal support can result in pathological teeth migration involving either a single tooth or a group of teeth. This may result in the development of a diastema, incisal proclination, rotation with collapse of the posterior occlusion.Materials and methods: This case report is of a 32 year old female patient who reported with swollen gums, generalized spacing between the teeth and extruded upper anterior tooth. Periodontal therapy followed by fixed orthodontic therapy was planned. Results: At the end of 2 years a stable healthy periodontium was established that was both functional and esthetic. Conclusion: Adjunctive orthodontic therapy is often necessary for successful restoration of periodontal health. On the other hand, successful orthodontic treatment will depend on the periodontal preparation before and after treatment and the maintenance of periodontal health throughout all phases of mechano-therapy.

In the last few years, several initiatives based on extracurricular activities have been organized in many countries around the world, with the aim to reduce the digital gender gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields. Among them, the Digital Girls summer camp, organized every year since 2014 by two Italian universities with the aim to attract female students to ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) disciplines, represents quite a unique initiative for its characteristics of long-duration (3–4 entire weeks) and complete gratuitousness for the participants. The COVID-19 emergency imposed severe changes to such activities, that had to be modified and carried out in the online mode as a consequence of social distancing. However, on one hand, the general lack of high-quality evaluations of these initiatives hinders the possibility to understand the actual impact of extracurricular activities on the future academic choices of the participants. On the other hand, the availability of data collected over different editions of Digital Girls has allowed us to analyze the summer camp impact and to evaluate the pros and cons of in-presence and online activities. The main contribution of this paper is twofold. First, we present an overview of existing experiences, at the national (Italian) and international levels, to increase female participation in integrated STEM and ICT fields. Second, we analyze how summer camp participation can influence girls’ future academic choices, with specific attention to ICT-related disciplines. In particular, the collection of a significant amount of data through anonymous surveys conducted before and after the camp activities over the two editions allowed us to evidence the different impacts of in-presence and online extracurricular activities.

The article presents the results of changes in the adaptive ability of dogs of different ages before and after exposure to physical activity in different seasons of the year in the conditions of Sakhalin island (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk). The main clinical and physiological parameters of the body of service dogs of the German shepherd breed were studied. The authors established a certain relationship between the degree of training and the response of the body of service dogs to physical activity in different seasons of the year. The most stressful periods for the life of service animals are summer and spring, and autumn and winter are consid-ered more comfortable. In General, the authors believe that service dogs are quite well adapted to use them in a moderate monsoon climate in the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk region, regardless of age. Regular train-ing conducted with service dogs increases their resistance to physical exertion and endurance, so older dogs have adaptive abilities.

The present article describes studies on the use of veterinary anthelmintic drug “Moxistop” (drops) to prevent helminthiasis in dogs and cats of different ages. These studies are relevant because the market has a wide range of anthelmintic drugs; “Moxistop” with its constituent substances (moxidectin/praziquantel) provides effective prevention of a wide range of helminths. Prevention of helminthiasis is an important anti-epizootic measure, which carried out at least once a quarter. Infection of dogs and cats before and 14 days after treatment was determined by examining fecal samples by Fulleborn flotation. The effectiveness of the drug was established because of the number of helminth eggs in 1 g of feces before and after treatment. For the treatment of dogs was used “Moxistop for dogs” (LLC SPE “SUZIRYA” Kharkiv, Ukraine): the active substances – moxidectin (25 mg/ml) and praziquantel (40 mg/ml), and for the treatment of cats used “Moxistop for cats”: active substances – moxidectin (10 mg/ml) and praziquantel (40 mg/ml). The drug was applied to experimental animals in drops (“spot-on”) on dry intact skin (topical application). As a result of a single application of the drug “Moxistop” drops found that on (4-6) days after application of the drug to dogs and (4-5) days after administration of the drug to cats, diarrhea in all animals stopped, feces became decorated, homogeneous consistency, not had additional inclusions. The animals were not disturbed, did not lick the skin around the anus, no side effects from the skin (redness or irritation, hair loss), increased local temperature or any signs of poisoning. No cat was detected in coprology studies on 14 days after deworming of helminth eggs. In the first series of experiments (groups I and III) conducted on dogs and cats infected with both cestodes and nematodes, a 100% therapeutic effect was obtained in cestodes in dogs and cats. The extent of invasion in dogs with nematodes was 80.0%, and the decrease in the number of eggs after treatment was 97.5% (from 157 ± 13.4 to 4), in cats, these figures were 100%. The effectiveness of the drug “Moxistop” in dogs and cats (groups II and IV animals), which was 100% in the second series of experiments with a high degree of nematode infestation (more than 500 eggs in 1 g of feces). According to the results of the tests, it was found high efficiency of the drug “Moxistop” in the invasion of Dipylidium canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina and Uncinaria stenocephala in dogs and cats of different ages

Abstract Background:Management of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and other rheumatological diseases requires an interdisciplinary approach involving dermatologists and rheumatologists. The aim of the study was to analyze the specialized dermatological-rheumatological management before and after foundation of a PsA center. Methods:A retrospective cohort study of all dermatology-rheumatology consultations during two periods was conducted. Period one, from April 1st, 2016 to February 28th, 2018 versus period two, from March 1st, 2018 to January 31st, 2020, after foundation of a PsA center. Clinical data on patient characteristics including psoriasis subtypes, clinical symptoms and signs, disease activity scores, classification criteria and comorbidities as well as patient journey were extracted and analyzed. Results: 404 consultations were studied. Close collaboration in a PsA center lead to a relevantly shortened patient journey concerning rheumatological complaints: period 1: median (IQR): 36.0 (10.0-126.0) months, period 2: median (IQR): 24.0 (6.0-60.0) months. Established scores and classification criteria such as GEPARD or CASPAR did not assist in diagnosis of PsA. Arthralgia (p=0.0407), swollen joints (p=0.0151), morning stiffness (p=0.0451) and dactylitis (p=0.0086) helped to distinguish between osteoarthritis and PsA.Conclusions: Clinical signs and symptoms, scores and classification criteria usually assessed were less helpful than expected in diagnosis of PsA and other rheumatological diseases. Close collaboration in a specialized PsA center yielded the fastest way of diagnosis.

This study intends to analyse the behaviour of epidemiological variables of workers in an oil industry of Bahia, Brazil, before and after implementation of interdisciplinary practices in occupational health assessments between 2006 and 2015. This is a retrospective longitudinal study carried out in two time periods. Data were collected from the workers electronic medical record and time trends were analysed before (2006–2010) and after (2011–2015) the implementation of the interdisciplinary practices focusing on health promotion. The data were complementarily compared to a control group from the same industry.A statistically significant reduction for data on the number of smokers, periodontal disease and of days away from work was obtained. A significant increase in the number of physically active subjects wasalso observed. Whilenot statistically significant, a reduction in the number of workers with obesity and overweight, with caries and altered glycemia, was identified. Coronary risk and high blood pressure indicators have shown aggravation. It can be concluded that an interdisciplinary health approach during the annual occupational assessments, with action directed to the population needs, can be associated with the improvement of the health indicators assessed, contributing to increased worker productivity in the oil industry.

e18020 Background: A multidisciplinary tumor board (MTB) provides an interdisciplinary approach for decision-making in cancer care. Oncology nurse navigators (NN) have been introduced to facilitate patient access to services and resources, and to improve continuity and coordination of care. Little is known about how digital technologies support this role. Methods: A prospective IRB approved cohort study was undertaken to evaluate NN time preparation for MTBs before and after the implementation of the NAVIFY Tumor Board (NTB) solution at University of Missouri Health Care (MU). Data was collected using a digital time-tracking application. The NTB manual version was implemented via a phased roll-out (Hematology – Apr 9, 2018; Breast May 18, 2018; Gastrointestinal Jul 11, 2018). Subsequently, the integrated version was introduced (Oct 4, 2018). Results: Time preparation for 101 MTBs (828 cases) were evaluated throughout 2018 (35 Breast; 213 cases / 32 GI; 302 cases / 34 Hematology; 313 cases). Data showed NN meeting preparation time decreased for each MTB after the introduction of NTB; further time saving was achieved with NTB integrated version (Table 1). For the Breast MTB there was statistical significance between time preparation pre- & post-NTB (p-value = 0.011) but not between the manual and integrated versions (p-value = 0.118). For the Gastrointestinal MTB, there was no statistical significance between pre- & post-NTB (p-value = 0.214). For Hematology MTB there was statistical significance between the change from the NTB manual version vs. integration (p-value = 0.004). Note before NTB implementation Hematology MTB was not supported by NN. Conclusions: Introduction of the NTB reduced time spent by NNs preparing for 3 different MTBs, EMR integration delivered further time-savings. No discernable learning curve was observed suggesting user-training was sufficient and NTB was easy to learn. A reduction in variance (SD & IQR) for time preparation across all MTBs was seen. This suggests the NTB solution standardized the process for MTB preparation. Less time spent preparing for MTBs gives NNs more time to support patients.

The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand whether certain theoretical benefits that open educational resources (OER) might have on teacher practice were being realized by a group of secondary teachers using open science textbooks.  In surveys and interviews, teachers were asked to describe their classroom practice before and after adopting an open textbook, including practices relating to openness.  Teachers were also asked to rate the quality of open textbooks they were using in contrast to textbooks used previously.  Most participants reported changes to practice, and the most commonly cited changes could be attributed to a combination of openness and online format.  For example, participants described linking textbook content to other online resources.  In comparisons of current to previous practice, however, teachers did not report increases in the open practices of collaboration, revising, or adapting.

We examined whether rhinoceros auklet (Cerorhinca monocarata) parents are able to adjust their provisioning effort in response to chick demand. A fostering experiment in which nestlings of different ages and masses were exchanged between burrows was employed to examine parental provisioning effort before and after the exchange. Daily mass increments of the nestlings were used to estimate the amount fed on the previous night, using a model based on data from captive chicks raised on a controlled diet. Our results demonstrate that rhinoceros auklet parents somehow assess and respond to the needs of their chicks by delivering more to older and larger fostered chicks and less to younger and smaller fostered chicks. Our results confirm and extend a growing body of information which shows that seabird parents can adjust provisioning effort when feeding young. We highlight how studies to date have differentially manipulated nestling age and hunger, thus complicating a comparative approach. Testing for interspecific differences in parental ability to respond to chick demands will require studies that employ comparable types of manipulations for a variety of seabird species.
