scholarly journals New Age Leaders

Leading change in established educational organizations requires an exceptional type of leadership. Research studies claim that legions of change makers in schools, colleges, and universities acknowledged stress, anger, conflict, and frustration as they dealt with complacency and ignorance. Despite acknowledged obstacles, researchers note that some universities claim to be actively incorporating change into their workplace. This research paper explores incorporating change as an active investment in leadership capital. Sixty six participants drawn from different departments were randomly selected as a sample. The results found perceptions of bold leadership seemingly driving universities upward and onward. Moreover, the results posited that many leaders who were seen as part of a millennial leadership cadre were imbued with a new age moral compass bridging forces of change and bridging faculty to faculty and faculty to students, all in a higher educational context in the MENA. Given these positive results, additional research is recommended to better understand the context and learn how to sustain daring leadership.

In this article, a conceptual model for the study of motivational dynamics behind leading change in educational organizations is proposed. In support of the present model, this article includes (a) a delineation and critical analysis of the theoretical frameworks in relation to the understanding of the development of motivation concept, and (b) a conceptualization of motivational dynamics by relating the organization’s aims to the external educational context, and, moreover to the external market requirements. Based on the above considerations, a leader’s integrative conceptual model of promoting motivation is presented, anchored within a dynamic capabilities paradigm, emhasizing the importance of motivation toward strategic organizational change.

The article considers the issues of the processes of merging, consolidation, and unification of various educational organizations (preschool educational organizations and municipal general education schools) into educational complexes (on the example of Moscow and the Moscow region). The accumulated experience of the existence of educational complexes is summarized, the positive and negative aspects of the association of educational organizations in general education are described. Among some positive results, the availability and opening of additional high schools were noted; accessibility, openness and diversity of specialized classes; some "strong" schools managed to pull up more "weak" schools. Among the negative aspects of the association, the following are highlighted: the gap in continuity between various links: primary, secondary and senior; low psychological safety of participants in the educational process in educational complexes; the achievements of schoolchildren in different divisions of the educational complex and in different classes are uneven and can vary greatly; additional paid education for children is additionally costly for their parents; the possibility of undermining the psychosocial and age-related aspects of normal socialization and personal development of a student due to the heavy workload of academic subjects; disproportionate funding between the structural divisions of the complex; reduction of teacher rates; destruction of a unique director's corps (directors and his deputies within one school as an established team of professionals); loss of the individuality of the educational organization, established values and traditions; a preschool educational organization can become, as it were ,an "appendage" of the school; with a large number of children in the educational complex, the phenomenon of depersonalization can occur, students become a "gray mass" , etc. It is emphasized that not only economic and managerial efficiency is important, but also pedagogical. Education specialists need to take into account the existing shortcomings of already operating educational complexes in order, as a result, to achieve the goals and content of education, primarily for students.

Abstract- E-learning is changing the landscape of many educational organizations globally. It has been embraced by many educational organizations in rapidly developing countries such as India, China and Malaysia. Wang (2003) stresses the importance of IT solutions in teaching and learning which is required to develop students’ skills by using more contemporary, resourceful and effective methods such as e-learning technology solutions in the universities. Recently, e-learning has become one of the IT tools which have emerged very strongly in the educational sector and specifically in the higher education. Yet, e-learning technology solutions offered by universities suffer from high cost and quality problems, and hence lack of acceptance. As such, this paper examines the factors affecting successful acceptance of e-learning technology solutions offered by colleges and universities in Oman from students’ perspective. The findings of this study will enrich the knowledge of students’ acceptance of e-learning in the Omani colleges and universities.

This research paper recapitulates the history of mathematics, which occupies itself describing processes of growth and development, whereas philosophy of mathematics is concerned with questions of justification. Both play an essential role within the educational context. However, there is a problem because genuine historical studies necessitate ever-greater particularity whereas mathematics and philosophy require generality and abstraction. The paper offers some methodological reflections about these matters together with two case studies from nineteenth century history of arithmetic and integration theory, respectively, which try to strike a balance between the directly opposed requirements.

Surveys taken in 1991 and 1992 in Virginia suggest that the enclave model of employment may be a more successful and long-term method of employing individuals with mental disabilities (IMDs) within Virginia college grounds departments. Individual, competitive placement of IMDs seems to be less successful, resulting in increased level of temporary and short-term employment. Additional research is needed to document the methods and benefits of employment used by other grounds departments, including colleges outside Virginia in the employment of IMDs.
