The Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent Movement Control Order (MCO) has resulted all formal classroom learning for 4.9 million students at all levels of education in Malaysia was suspended since March 2020 till todate. Educators were advised to shift from traditional face-to-face classroom meetings to distance learning mode; online or offline platforms. However, the reality is, the majority of the students are still grappling with e- learning, inadequate equipment, and an unconducive environment making the adoption of home-based elearning even harder. There is no evidence on how Diploma engineering students are experiencing this new normal. Having realised the importance of getting first-hand information regarding online distance learning (ODL) experiences, this study investigated Diploma engineering students’ ODL experiences amidst COVID-19. An online survey using Google Forms was utilised to collect data for three weeks from 486 Diploma level students in a university from the southern region of Peninsular Malaysia. Using descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis, the distribution of study participants, learning experiences, and expectations on educational decisions of ODL was investigated. The findings highlight the need to transform education for more tech-based lessons for the millennials and there is a need to a properly planned ODL implementation with full support from all involved in ODL mode. As classes move online in the foreseeable future, the findings of this project will benefit UiTM and the government in restructuring digital education post-Covid-19 to develop employability and the productivity of the future generation.

The education world now is entering an adjustment phase in teaching and learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. Activities that are usually carried out offline (outside the network) face-to-face in the classroom, turn into online distance learning (in the network). In order to reduce the spread of the virus, the government issued a policy stating that all activities are carried out from home and utilize the technology as a supporting tool, including learning practices carried out by the universities. The limited online learning conditions between lecturers and students, overcome by the campus by preparing themselves to formulate policies and strategic steps, so that, the activity process on sharing topics lecture continue to run using e-learning application facilities. Likewise, Tri Dharma activities of higher education regarding research and community service. The use of technology with various platform applications during this pandemic is one of the researches breakthroughs used. Like it or not, online learning forces both lecturer and students to adapt. Implementation of community service activities that are generally carried out directly in the field, continues to run using the internet network through the provision of webinars (seminars on the web) or virtual work lecture (KKN) activities virtually. Keywords: Outside the Network, Distance Learning, In the Network, University   Abstrak Dunia pendidikan saat ini memasuki fase penyesuaian dalam proses belajar mengajar di masa pandemi Covid-19. Purpose The purpose of this study is analysing the experince of Kazakhstan in implementing distance/online learning during pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all areas of social and economic life, including education. More than 1.3 billion students worldwide have switched to online/distance learning. In Kazakhstan, more than 6 million active participants in the educational process are navigating this online migration. There is significant criticism of the process among the general population, demanding scholarly investigations into the government’s actions. Design/methodology/approach This paper examines the re-organization of education in Kazakhstan during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods to uncover this included an express survey of 31,300 households, in interviews with 65 parents, 15 children, 9 school/college/university administration and teachers and 15 representatives of the Government of Kazakhstan, and in analyses of statistical and regulatory documents. Findings This study finds that the government of Kazakhstan has faced significant issues in the transition to distance/online learning due to weak internet infrastructure and a lack of effective interaction with all stakeholders, as well as biased statistical and analytical information. Originality/value The pandemic has functioned as a test of government readiness for crisis and has exposed several fault lines where official development policy has been ineffective. While the “gap” between policy and outcome is often attributed to failures in local implementation, the unique factors at play here – an interested citizenry and committed teachers – show that considerably more work has to be put into bringing “best practices” from developed countries to developing ones.

Abstract The outbreak of COVID-19 necessitated abrupt transition from on campus, face-to-face sessions to online, distance learning in higher education institutions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of postgraduate dental learners and instructors about the transition to distance learning, including the changes to the learning and teaching and its efficaciousness. A mixed-methods approach to research was utilized. All the instructors and postgraduate learners were invited to participate in the online survey. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential analyses on SPSS for Windows version 25.0, and for the responses to the open-ended questions, multi-staged Thematic Analysis was utilized. Both groups of stakeholders: learners and instructors, were quite satisfied with the rapid transition to distance learning due to COVID-19. Instructors were significantly more satisfied than the learners. The stakeholders adapted well to the change. The perception of the stakeholders regarding the case-based scenarios significantly influenced their level of satisfaction. As perceived by the stakeholders, the transition to distance learning entailed advantages and challenges. Going through the experience equipped the stakeholders with lessons learned and enabled them to develop informed opinions of how best to sustain learning and teaching irrespective of how matters unfold in relation to the pandemic. In conclusion, the worldwide dental education community faced unprecedented challenges due to the onset of COVID-19. Yet, in the grand scheme of things, it is important for decision-makers not to miss-out on the worthwhile opportunities, inherent in the experience, to reinforce curriculums, and maximize the learning and teaching.

This present study discovers cybersecurity awareness in online distance learning (ODL) during the pandemic crisis. ODL is an excellent way of teaching and learning during this catastrophe. The Government has imposed the National E-learning Policy to support ODL procedures. Unfortunately, the policies have not been carefully planned on security elements. Therefore, by utilizing Information Security Awareness Capability Model and Situation Awareness-Oriented Cyber Security Education Model, we able to: (1) design the security elements for National e-Learning Policy (2) develop a conceptual model of security behavior that benefits ODL procedure. Principally, four factors are demanding attention in the domain of cybersecurity features. On the other hand, there are partially supported hypotheses between the dimensions of cybersecurity and behaviour. Nutshell, we believe our paper is extending the body of knowledge in cybersecurity elements, awareness, and behaviour literature. Future direction, limitation, and conclusion have been thoroughly discussed.
