It is shown that vibroabrasive treatment of hardened titanium alloy specimens contributes to an increase in their durability. This effect is explained by the removal of a defective surface layer containing microcracks and subject to the influence of residual tensile stresses. It is shown that the proposed stage of vibro-abrasive processing with ceramic granules makes it possible to almost completely remove iron introduced after vibro-impact surface hardening, which makes it possible to exclude the operation of etching in nitric acid from the technological process. The current state of research on durability in world science is briefly presented.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease of the joints, characterized by irreversible destruction of articular cartilage. The disease process is accompanied by changes of immunological nature, resulting in local inflammatory reactions, with the production of proinflammatory cytokines and metalloproteinases. There is currently no effective treatment resulting in repair of degraded cartilage. Clinical application of mesenchymal cells (MSCs) creates new possibilities in the treatment of incurable diseases. Multipotent MSCs exhibit immunosuppressive activity and limited immunogenicity and have the potential to differentiate in vitro towards adipocytes, osteocytes, chondrocytes, myocytes and endothelial cells. Thanks to these biological properties, they are increasingly used in clinical therapies. In few scientific papers, the safety of cellular therapies in the group of dogs diagnosed with OA has been confirmed. In patients undergoing treatment with autologous intra-articular injections, no serious adverse effects were observed, and in the vast majority of patients an improvement in the clinical condition and reduction of pain and joint pain were achieved. The paper presents the current state of knowledge on osteoarthritis in dogs, on the biological properties of adipose tissue stem cells and their use in OA therapy and on monitoring the progress of treatment by imaging diagnostics.

The current state of legal regulation of academic integrity in Ukraine has been analyzed. It has been found out that the standards of academic integrity are still poorly studied in the scientific field in Ukraine. However, some aspects of the legal regulation of academic integrity have already been considered in the works of national scholars. However, given the relative novelty of the term of “academic charity” in the current legislation, a number of issues of legal regulation of academic integrity in Ukraine remain relevant and unresolved. It has been noted that the regulatory requirements for the standards of academic integrity were first enshrined only in 2017in the Art. 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”. It became the legal basis for the protection of the author’s scientific work from its appropriation or unjustified publication by another person. Until now, the “standards” of academic integrity were not enshrined in law, although they were used to some extent in verifying the results of dissertation research. This aspect is still problematic from the point of view of legal regulation, and hence practical application. The following problems of the current state of legal regulation of academic integrity in Ukraine have been identified: diversity in the approaches of educational institutions to the criteria used in testing scientific papers for literary piracy; the existence of a legal conflict regarding the regulation of the issue of “self-plagiarism” between the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 567 dated from July 24, 2013; the need to distinguish between additional and detailed liability for the violation of academic integrity; inconsistency of terminology in the current legislation, etc. Ways to solve existing problems have been suggested.

This chapter describes the contributions of the scientific community in the development of international climate change law, highlighting in particular the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC’s) assessment and research of the scientific, technical, and socio-economic information relevant for the understanding of the risk of climate change. Since the Panel’s establishment under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in 1988, it has released several scientific papers that provide a clear scientific view on the current state of knowledge in climate change. The chapter examines the core of the IPCC’s assessment reports, which are divided into three working groups that deal respectively with the ‘Physical Science Basis of Climate Change’, ‘Climate Change Impact, Adaptation and Vulnerability’, and ‘Mitigation of Climate Change’. The IPCC also addresses specific areas, such as renewable energy, disaster management, and climate engineering.

Crowdfunding is an innovative financial instrument that is continuously gaining importance in research and practice. In order to promote the economic and theoretical discussion on this topic, a systematic overview of the literature is essential. The present work represents a literature-based research on crowdfunding to determine which research topics have been addressed so far and whether or not a focus has been developed on a particular topic, research stream, and model. The literature review identified 90 scientific papers, published between 2011 and 2016. The study consequently develops seven research areas: individual, managerial, legal, platform-based, sustainability-based, innovation-related, and conceptual. Through this conceptualization and the presentation of the current state of the research as well as the determination of the future research potential, this work is relevant for the academic debate on the organizational implications on crowdfunding. In addition, the review supports practitioners, or in particular crowdfunding initiators, to understand how crowdfunding mechanisms function and to deduce consequences for successful crowdfunding.

Purpose. The aim of the article is research of the peculiarities of the current state of simplified accounting in small enterprises and development of proposals for its improvement and identifies opportunities for further simplification. Methodology of research. The theoretical basis of the study were laws and normative and legal acts on regulation, organization, accounting and financial reporting in Ukraine, as well as scientific papers of domestic scientists on simplified accounting in small enterprises of Ukraine. The study used general scientific and specific methods: logical analysis, system approach, synthesis, induction and deduction, generalization (in the study of current norms and regulations on accounting regulation, accounting features), abstract and logical (in generalizing theoretical provisions and forming conclusions and proposals). Findings. A study of the peculiarities of simplified accounting in small enterprises is carried out. It is found out what special norms of simplified methods of accounting the current legislation contains for certain categories of small enterprises, the problems concerning their practical use by small enterprises are defined. Emphasis is placed on the insufficiency of simplified methods of accounting and the need to bring regulations on simplified accounting in line with modern realities. Proposals for improving accounting have been formed and the need for a single standard that regulates current issues of accounting in small enterprises and meets modern realities was substantiated. Originality. The urgent need to expand the methods of simplified accounting and the introduction of a single special legal act on accounting in small enterprises is substantiated. Practical value. The obtained research results and developed proposals can be used for further research, as well as in the development of regulatory documents. Key words: accounting, small enterprises, simplified forms of accounting, double entry, accounting registers, simplified chart of accounts, financial statements.

The aim: Analyze the ophthalmic studies on diagnostics and treatment of patients with age-related macular degeneration to optimize diagnostics and management tactics. Materials and methods: The analysis of scientific papers due to age-related macular degeneration, vitamin D and its functions from scientometric databases: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science. The methods were next: systematic approach, analysis, summarization and comparison. Conclusions: Age-related macular degeneration is a chronic, progressive disease among people older than 50 years. Late diagnostics and inappropriate treatment may lead to irreversible central vision loss and social disadaptation. Modern studies on the pathogenesis and treatment of this pathology (that are due to the role of the immune system, antioxidants and microelements) demonstrate the effectiveness and prospects for further development around the world to find new ways to solve this problem.

Most of the existent certified electronic mail proposals (found in scientific papers) have been designed without considering their deployment into traditional e-mail infrastructure (e.g., Internet mail system). In fact, there is not any implementation used for commercial purposes of those proposals. On the other hand, in different countries, private companies and public administrations have developed their own applications for certified electronic mail, but these solutions are tailored to their needs and present serious drawbacks. They consider the mail providers as Trusted Third Parties (TTPs), but without being verifiable (if they cheat or fail, users cannot prove it). In most cases, users (typically recipients) cannot choose their mail provider; it is imposed, and even worse, sometimes a message is considered to have been delivered when it has been deposited in the recipient’s mailbox (and perhaps, he will not be able to access it). In this chapter, the authors give a broad picture on the current state of certified e-mail, including a brief description of the current e-mail architecture and the need of certified e-mail services, and a definition of the security requirements needed for such a service. Next, they review the scientific and existent proposals. Finally, the authors give some guidelines for developing practical solutions for certified e-mail services that meet all the security requirements.
