Given the impeding timeline of developing good quality quantum processing units, it is the moment to rethink the approach to advance quantum computing research. <br>Rather than waiting for quantum hardware technologies to mature, we need to start assessing in tandem the impact of the occurrence of quantum computing in various scientific fields.<br>However, to this purpose, we need to use a complementary but quite different approach than proposed by the NISQ vision, which is heavily focused on and burdened by the engineering challenges.<br>That is why we propose and advocate the PISQ-approach: Perfect Intermediate-Scale Quantum computing based on the already known concept of perfect qubits.<br>This will allow researchers to focus much more on the development of new applications by defining the algorithms in terms of perfect qubits and evaluate them on quantum computing simulators that are executed on supercomputers.<br>It is not the long-term solution but will currently allow universities to research on quantum logic and algorithms and companies can already start developing their internal know-how on quantum solutions.

Cloud Gaming is a cutting-edge paradigm in the video game provision where the graphics rendering and logic are computed in the cloud. This allows a user’s thin client systems with much more limited capabilities to offer a comparable experience with traditional local and online gaming but using reduced hardware requirements. In contrast, this approach stresses the communication networks between the client and the cloud. In this context, it is necessary to know how to configure the network in order to provide service with the best quality. To that end, the present work defines a novel framework for Cloud Gaming performance evaluation. This system is implemented in a real testbed and evaluates the Cloud Gaming approach for different transport networks (Ethernet, WiFi, and LTE (Long Term Evolution)) and scenarios, automating the acquisition of the gaming metrics. From this, the impact on the overall gaming experience is analyzed identifying the main parameters involved in its performance. Hence, the future lines for Cloud Gaming QoE-based (Quality of Experience) optimization are established, this way being of configuration, a trendy paradigm in the new-generation networks, such as 4G and 5G (Fourth and Fifth Generation of Mobile Networks).

ABSTRACTTwo challenges facing nursing-home care today are understanding the concept of quality of life as it relates to cognitively impaired residents and finding effective ways to ensure that it is achieved. Canadian director Allan King's documentary, Memory for Max, Claire, Ida and Company, filmed at Baycrest, captures a method for enhancing the quality of life of six cognitively impaired residents. While the film suggests an intervention model implemented by volunteers, there are challenges unique to institution-based programs (i.e., the recruitment and retention of volunteers). One of the challenges is the fear that volunteers may experience when interacting with the cognitively impaired. We conducted a pilot study of a model for training volunteers to provide friendly visiting and evaluated the impact on the participating residents. Observational accounts of volunteer–resident interactions and seven volunteer interviews were analysed and yielded several themes—(a) relationship building, (b) contribution of the environment, (c) preserving personhood, (d) resident-centred presence and the quality of the moment—and several themes related to the volunteers' role and their perceived impact on the residents. Discussed are the implications for volunteer programs in long-term health care settings.

The aim of this article is to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the income models of the Spanish general inter­est press through an in-depth analysis of the case of ‘El Mundo’. This article shows data about the decline in adver­tising, both in printed and digital for­mats, during the first quarter of 2020 and, more specifically, during March. It also reveals that the media platforms with a previously implemented sub­scription system have gained a signif­icant number of new registrations. Not only is ‘El Mundo’ an example of this trend, but also other newspapers such as ‘Eldiario.es’, ‘Ara’, ‘La Razón’ or ‘La Voz de Galicia’. The reader becomes an alternative to lessen advertising losses at a time of global transformation of the industry towards reader-revenue models. Long-term consequences of a probable economic recession once the pandemic effects are reduced are also considered in the analysis. The article also outlines some key points to ensure the viability of newspaper publishers, such as investing in journalists with relevant sources or profiles that know how to manage new digital businesses. The application of increasing price-level changes to capital investment decisions Inflation (the decreasing purchasing power of money) has become a reality with which one has to live, and for which one has to plan. As a result of the decrease in the purchasing power of money, the prices of production means are going up considerably, and more so where long-term capital projects are involved. The initial investment in respect of a capital project involves the least risk in accuracy, as it has to be known at the moment of decision-making and cannot be changed significantly until the decision has been realized. The other factors essential for decision-making and which will be realized in the future throughout the lifespan of the asset are subject to change in the value of money and it is important that the influence of this change be taken into account. The impact of price-level changes can be taken into account through the use of general or specific price-level changes. The application of this has led to the fact that only general price-level changes, or only specific price-level changes, or general and specific price-level changes can be used for the adjustment of items. The last includes the advantages of using both price-level changes. In each of these applications different methods have been developed which agree in principle, while there may be differences with regard to details of the applications.

Abstract Objective The quarantine/self-isolation measures implemented to retard the spread of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) may negatively affect the mental health of the population. The present study aimed to explore the impact of the psychological symptoms on the occurrence of cognitive failures in a large sample of home-dwelling Italian individuals during quarantine/self-isolation for COVID-19. Methods We employed an online questionnaire using a virtual platform of Google Moduli. The questionnaire included an assessment of cognitive failures evaluated by the Perceived Memory and Attentional Failures Questionnaire (PerMAFaQ) and of resilience, coping style, depression, anger, and anxiety. Results The online questionnaire was completed by 4175 participants revealing that about 30% of participants complained of cognitive failures at least sometimes during quarantine/self-isolation, whereas some respondents reported very frequent cognitive failures. Moreover, resilience was found to mediate the relationships between depressive and anger symptoms and cognitive failures. Although no difference was found on PerMAFaQ among smart-workers, non-smart-workers, and those currently not at work, people not working at the moment complained of more frequent cognitive failures. Conclusions These findings indicate the need to implement psychological support intervention, particularly for vulnerable groups, to reduce anxiety, depression, and anger, and of psychoeducational interventions to enhance resilience reducing possible long-term cognitive consequences of the quarantine.

This study uses the theory of market timing in considering capital structure of the sample of 430 companies which are listed on Vietnam's stock market and implemented IPO in the period of 2006 - 2012. Following the research method of Alti (2006), the article used the variable HOT to represent the factor of market timing in order to understand the relationship between this variable and leverage variable in the short-term (in the year of IPO) and in the long-term (year of IPO + 1, IPO + 2, ..., IPO + 6). The results showed no statistically significant evidence about the negative relationship between the HOT and leverage ratios. It implies that in the first time that companies issue their share capital to the public, the ―active‖ or ―gloomy‖ situation of market is not related to the leverage ratio at the moment of observation. In addition, the results also showed that variables relating to characteristics of company such as growth potential, profitability and scale have a statistically significant relation to capital structure and tangible has no impact on leverage ratio.

The urban renewal approach is generally carried out with both physical and economic appoach. A community-based development/urban renewal approach is used for long-term results, therefore it is rarely done. Community based urban renewal study is very important because the impact is more sustainable. Urban renewal of red-light district Putat Jaya Surabaya is carried out to resolve the pressure and social economic change, which is the closing of Dolly and Jarak (Putat Jaya). The Government of Surabaya has been using a community based approach in conducting the renewal, but in doing so the Government of Surabaya has no reference, especially the know-how mechanism of a community based development. This study aims to evaluate and formulate a community-based urban renewal mechanism, so that it can be a reference in the implementation of urban renewal. The results showed that the efforts made by the Surabaya of Government had not fully met the principles of community-based urban renewal where the community had a central role in the preparation and implementation of plans and monitoring of the results of urban renewal in a participatory manner.

Computing tools, all based on classical logic at the moment, present intrinsic limitations that can be overcome by using quantum logic. In this direction, superconducting Josephson devices have been proved to be very suitable candidates for the realization of quantum computing tools. We present some basic elements of quantum computing, possible strategies for the implementation of quantum gates by using Josephson devices, and recent experimental results in this field.
