This paper discusses number of institutional repositories, software used, what are the content available in IR, which language mostly used in Brazil. Currently the intellectual output of the educators and the organization plays an essential role in the education knowledge process of a Higher Educational Institution. Articles; Theses; Unpublished; Books; Datasets etc are scattered in many places of an institution in print and electronic form. Therefore it is essential to collect, classify, arrange and store these materials digitally in a single platform by establishing Institutional Repository (IR) and to provide easy access to them over intranet/internet to the institute community and others. The 84 repositories are available in Brazil country with consists of total 11, 17,688 number of records and 62 repositories are in a mono-lingual type language which is used Spanish and Portuguese only. It is found that, most of the repositories are also used Portuguese languages but only one repository are generated by using Spanish language only.

Purpose – This paper aims to present the experiences of SEAFDEC/AQD library staff in digitizing institutional publications and developing an institutional repository (IR). Design/methodology/approach – SEAFDEC/AQD IR or SAIR provides a reliable means for its researchers to store, preserve, share their research outputs, enable easy access to and increase the visibility of its scientific publications. The repository uses DSpace customized with some add-ons. Details on the digitization hardware and software, layout, delivery format, and persistent identifier used are provided. Findings – As of March 2012, the repository contains 771 items with 541 downloadable PDFs. SAIR had 88,287 item views, 69,249 PDF downloads and 271,978 searches. SAIR is registered to and indexed by OpenDOAR, ROAR, Google Scholar and WorldCat. It is harvested by AVANO Ifremer, BASE, Sciencegate.ch and OAIster. Initial impact based on indicators in webometrics ranking web of world repositories and research centers was presented. Reluctance to contribute to IR has been observed by the library staff among SEAFDEC/AQD researchers. Research limitations/implications – The IR can be an effective tool to promote institutional publications and those written by researchers in peer-reviewed journals and to generate higher citations through increased visibility. IR submission policy and procedures are being drafted by the library staff. Practical implications – SAIR provides free access to all in-house publications of SEAFDEC/AQD. Full-text digitized copies of fish farmer-friendly materials like books, handbooks, policy guidebooks, extension manuals, institutional reports, and newsletters can be downloaded. Originality/value – SAIR is one of only three open access institutional repositories registered in the Philippines. The paper discusses the lessons learned and issues to be addressed in developing an IR of value to other institutions considering similar projects. Future plans and further development are also presented.

Institutional Repository (IR) which contains local works of the academic community is an intellectual property owned by a tertiary institution. This intellectual work can be in the form of books, papers, scientific articles, research results, proceedings, theses, theses, dissertations and others produced by Lecturers, Librarians, Employees, and Students. Proper management and easy access must be a priority so that information dissemination and IR utilization can be optimized. One effort to optimize the use of IR is the existence of an independent upload program. With independent uploads, it is expected that IR collections will develop more dynamically in terms of quality and quantity because of the convenience of the visitors in publishing their thoughts. This simplicity is due to independent uploads not limited by space and time. Whenever and wherever, Pemustaka can upload independently easily because IR media is online. This study aims to find out what is meant by IR independent uploads, what are the menus and contents of metadata in eprint-based repositories, and the extent to which the effectiveness and efficiency of independent upload programs for intellectual works (Thesis, Thesis, Desertation, and scientific work) Civitas Academica of UIN Sunan Ampel in the development of Institutional Repositories.

Plants seem to be rather defenceless, they are unable to do motion, have no nervous system or immune system unlike animals. Besides this, plants do have hormones, though these substances are produced not in glands. In view of their complexity they lagged behind animals, however, plant organisms show large scale integration in their structure and function. In higher plants, such as in animals, the intercellular communication is fulfilled through chemical messengers. These specific compounds in plants are called phytohormones, or in a wide sense, bioregulators. Even a small quantity of these endogenous organic compounds are able to regulate the operation, growth and development of higher plants, and keep the connection between cells, tissues and synergy beween organs. Since they do not have nervous and immume systems, phytohormones play essential role in plants’ life. Orv. Hetil., 2014, 155(26), 1011–1018.

This article is devoted to the analysis of the concepts of «methodology» in general, and «methodology in education» in particular. The analysis of the main classical methods in the field of teaching a foreign language such as «natural» and «grammatical-translation», indicate the urgent need for training and application of the student audience to achieve conscious foreign language knowledge in a non-linguistic higher educational institution of general economic profile.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to be concerned with the motivations and resistance among an institutional repository (IR) stakeholder – the Library and Information Science (LIS) academicians – with respect to Green Road open access publishing in an inter-institutional repository. Design/methodology/approach – The answers were identified from 47 LIS faculty from three library schools in Malaysia who reported awareness of what an IR is and having had experience in contributing resources to digital repositories. Data were collected using survey and interviews. Findings – The results highlighted the LIS faculty on their motivation to share their intellectual profile, research and teaching resources in an inter-institutional repositories and why the reluctance in contributing. The study reveals that the major motivation to share resources for those practicing self-archiving is related to performance expectancy, social influence, visible and authoritative advantage, career benefit and quality work. The major resistance to share scholarly research output through self-archiving in institutional repositories for those practicing self-archiving is concern on plagiarism, time and effort, technical infrastructure, lack of self-efficacy and insularity. Practical implications – Knowing what conditions predict motivation and resistance to contribute to IRs would allow IR administrators to ensure greater and more effective participation in resource-sharing among LIS academic community. If this resistance is addressed aptly, IRs can be of real benefit to their teaching, scholarship, collaborations, and publishing and to the community that they serve. Originality/value – The first study that has explored the ways LIS academics respond to a situation where knowledge sharing in academe has now been made mandatory through an IR and what makes them resist to do so.

A method for modeling and printed circuit board layout in the form of a 3D model in one of the digital solutions designed for this task, Altium Designer, is proposed. The practical significance of the work is the study of the basic software libraries in terms of their creation, filling and application when working with the project, as well as of the algorithm for constructing an electrical circuit in the Altium Designer program, layout and design of the simplest circuit on the board. In the course of the work, the algorithm and rules for creating a library of three-dimensional models of components, a library containing conditional graphic designations of the corresponding components, a schematic diagram of the device, a three-dimensional model of the board and the construction of conducting tracks on it are described. The components and circuits used in the work are publicly available on the Internet, which allows anyone to work over the entire algorithm for studying and honing the skills of designing printed circuit boards, both by students studying at a higher educational institution and by fully-fledged specialists. This work can be used not only for teaching students in the field of electronic device development in terms of their design and for organizing laboratory work, but also for creating and designing real devices both in production and within a higher educational institution, for example, for creating a laboratory bench. The introduction and study of this software is carried out at the Department of Radio-Electronic Systems and Complexes of one of the leading engineering universities of the Russian Federation — the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
