Writing cannot be separated from sentences. Constructing sentences is astart to write a composition since it has levels of difficulties starting from wordsto sentences, sentences to paragraph and paragraph to longer composition.Jumbled words is a method of teaching. There are some words or sentenceswhich are jumbled by teacher and the students must arrange them intocorrect sentences. This research is a descriptive quantitative one that focusedon the data analysis with form description with the scoring of the eight gradestudents’ grammatical errors in arranging jumbled words into meaningfulsentences at SMP Negeri 4Banyuwangi in the Academic Year 2016/2017. Purposive method was used todetermine the research area. The number of respondent were 30 students.The result of the data analysis showed that compose sentences was difficultfor the eight year students of SMP Negeri 4 Banyuwangi. (1) There are 126miordering of using adjective followed by noun with the percentage 23,37%.(2) There are 46 misordering of using verb followed byadverb with the percentage 8,53%. (3) There are 98 misordering of usingauxiliary verb ( do, do es and did )with the percentage 18,18%, (4) There are 95 misordering of using to be pasttense (was and were) with the percentage 17,62%. (5) There are75misordering of using Simple Present Tense with the percentage 13,91%. (6)There are 99 misordering of using Simple Past Tense with the percentage18,36%

Grammar is the rules in a language for changing the form of words and joining them into sentences to create meaning. This research is focused on error analysis  on the using BE in Simple Present and Simple Past Tenses. The purpose of this study is to find out the grammatical errors in using BE in students’ composition. In this study the writer took the the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Nainggolan in the Academic Year of 2017/2018 consisting 25 students as the sample. The data are analyzed with descriptive qualitative method. The data were identified based on kinds of errors. The kinds of errors are omission and misordering. The results of the data analysis show that there are 155 errors made by the students in their compositions. The writer concluded that omission errors 68 or 61,80% in Simple Present Tense and  49 or 51% in Simple Past Tense, misordering errors 16 or 14,60% in Simple Present Tense and 22 or 23% in Simple Past Tense. But out of category there are 28 or 23,60 redundant sentences in Simple Present Tense and 25 or 26% redundant sentences in Simple Past Tense. The writer also concluded that there are two causes of errors, namely Translation and Carelesssness. Based on the result of the research, it is suggested that the students should learn and memorize grammatical rules an teachers should give clearer explanation on grammatical rules in English.

The goal of this research is to investigate grammatical errors in speaking performed by tour guides in Gorontalo city. As demanding English is a compulsory language for those who work in the tourism sector when they deal with foreign tourists. This study aims to uncover grammatical errors produced by Gorontalo tour guides. Afterwards, this research uses sequential mixed method that proposed by Creswell, which aims to investigate and discover the types of grammatical errors followed by modus data. Moreover, the data analysis of this study uses a guideline that proposed by Politzer and Ramirez who explained the types of grammatical errors in detail. This study reveals that the ability of 12 tour guides produce speaking in a grammatically low manner. It indicates that the number of grammatical errors is dominated by the verb phrase, noun phrase and transformation. Followed by third person present singular, simple past tense, and past participle. Overall, this research is expected to contribute to tour guides in Gorontalo city, especially what needs to be emphasized by tour guides in speaking grammatically.Keywords: grammatical errors; tourist guide; Gorontalo

The objective of this study is to know the grammatical errors and to elaborate the sources of errors in odd midterm evaluation of eleventh grade for the academic year 2018/2019 in Vocational School, Muhammadiyah 2, Parung Serab, Kota Tangerang, Banten. It belongs to descriptive qualitative study which used document analysis to proceed the data. The findings showed that there are five error grammatical items which include tenses (present tense & past continuous tense), preposition, object pronoun, article and quantifier. In addition, there are three sources of errors in the study; error related to context of learning, intralingual error and interlingual error.

The purpose of this research was to find out the errors made by the eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Santu Petrus Sidikalang in writing composition in the academic year of 2020/2021. Errors were analyzed based on linguistic category taxonomy. Linguistic category taxonomy consists of morphology and syntax. The population of this research is 262 students and 56 is randomly taken as a sample. Based on the result of the data analysis, there are 169 errors made by the students on their writing compositions. Morphological errors is 85 (50,29%) and syntactical errors is 84 (49,69%). Morphological errors that students made in morphology of linguistic category are definite aricle incorrect 14 (8,29%), possessive case incorrect 17 (10,05%), third person singular verb incorrect 25 (14,79%), simple past tense incorrect 28 (16,57%) and comparative adjective/adverb incorrect 1 (0,59%). In syntax there are noun phrase 40 (23,67%), verb phrase 28 (16,57%), verb-and-verb construction 5 (2,95%), word order 9 (5,32) and some trafnsformation 2 (1,18%). In conlusion the dominant errors made by the students is in morphology error.

Writing is a language skill that is used for indirect communication to convey a message or information to the readers. In writing a text, we can explore our ideas, feelings and thoughts which are arranged in words, sentences, and paragraph by using eyes, brain and hand. In writing a text, we must be able to use a good language and we also must be able to arrange good sentences grammatically in order the readers understand about the content of our writing. Besides that, if the students will make a sentences or paragraph, they must have knowledge about tenses. The objectives of the research are to find out the students’ simple grammar mastery and their performance in writing descriptive and also to find out whether or not there is a correlation between the students’ grammar mastery and their performance in writing descriptive. The subjects of this research are the tenth grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro (class XA1 and class XAP). In this research, the writer used descriptive quantitative method because the final score of variable is number and the analysis is using statistic. The researcher tried to analyze the current data about students’ grammar mastery and their performance in writing descriptive. In collecting data, the researcher administered two kinds of test. They are simple present tense test and writing test. The simple present tense test are consists of 20 items of multiple choice and the writing test, the students choose one of topics from three topics. The result of this research shows that the students’ simple present tense mastery was middle. It can be seen from the average of simple present tense test is 70.6. The students’ performance in writing descriptive was middle. It can be seen from the average of writing descriptive test is 74.9. The conclusion above was from result of data analysis, it was found that writing descriptive affected by simple present tense mastery.

This research aims to understand and to describe the process and rules of thetenses form in Manado Malay language. This research is conducted in Manadowhich is almost all the civilians use Manado Malay language as their dailycommunication.This Research uses qualitative descriptive method and structural linguisticsmethod as an approaching to do this research.The data collecting was in terms ofrecording and interviewing with informan and analyzed by Miles and Hubermanmodel of data analysis such as data reduction, data display and data conclusion.The result shows that there are three forms of tenses in Manado Malay languages.Those are present, past and future. The present tense is form by a prefix ba- whichis bound to a verb; past tense is formed by a partikel so and followed by a verband; future tense is formed by partikel mo and followed by a verb.Keywords: tenses, process, Manado-Malay, language

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis kesalahan menulis karangan argumentasi dengan menggunakan kata lampau di SMAN 2 FakFak. Klasifikasi jenis kesalahan dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan pada prosedur yang dibuat oleh Dulay dan analisis kesalahan menggunakan prosedur yang dibuat oleh Ellis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis deskripsi dalam menjelaskan dan menganalisis kesalahan data yang diperoleh. Data peneltian diperoleh berdasarakan hasil tes siswa pada penggunaan kata lampau. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 2 FakFak periode akademik 2020/2021, Kelas X IPA 1 terdiri dari 12 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi dan menganalis hasil tes siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir semua siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menulis karangan argumentasi dengan menggunakan kata lampau. Siswa kurang memahami dan memperhatikan perubahan kata kerja dan bentuk masa lalu yang berkelanjutan. Mereka membuat kesalahan di bagian tambahan, kelalaian, kesalahan informasi dan salah urus. Oleh karena itu disarankan kepada siswa untuk lebih giat lagi menulis sehingga dapat meminimalisir kesalahan dalam penulisan karangan argumentasi. The objective of this study was to identify types of errors in the use of past tense in an argumentative writing at SMAN 2 FakFak. The classification of the types of errors in this study was based on procedure made by Dulay and the error analysis procedure made by Ellis. This study used descriptive analysis method to describe and analyse the errors of the data collected. The data were collected from students’ tests in the use of Simple Past Tense. The sample of this study was tenth grade students of SMAN 2 FakFak, academic year 2020/2021, the class of X IPA 1 consisting of 12 students. Data analysis was done by identifying and analysing the students’ tests. The results show that most of students made an error when writing an argumentative writing using past tense. They did not understand and pay attention on verb changes in past tense and past continuous. The students also made errors in addition parts, omission, malformation and disordering. Therefore, it is suggested for students to frequently practice in argumentative writing in order to minimize mistakes

This study aims at describing how the teachers teach reading comprehension of narrative text to the tenth grade students in Sibolangit and revealing the underlying reasons of why do they do that way. This study was conducted by using qualitative research design. The subject of this study were two english teachers who taught at tenth grade students of two SMA in Sibolangit they are : SMA Negeri  1 Sibolangit  and SMA RK Deli Murni Bandar Baru in academic year 2016/ 2017. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman data analysis technique. The  technique of collecting the data was recorded from the classroom process in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text. The findings of the study show that most of teachers’ ways are not yet focusing on teaching reading comprehension but rather focusing teaching the knowledge of genre. The underlying reason of the teachers’ ways in teaching reading comprehension did not facilitate reading comprehension. It was due to the misperception of the concept of teaching reading comprehension.  Keywords : Teaching,Reading Comprehension,Narrative Text.

This research is entitled “The Effectiveness of Using Cooperative Script Method to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension on Recount Text of 8th Grade Students of SMP N Kewapante, Maumere in Academic Year 2017/ 2018”. The objective of this research is to investigate and to find out whether the use of cooperative script method effective to improve students’ reading comprehension on recount text. The method of this research is experimental research especially quasi experimental research. In analyzing the data, the researcher combined both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. In qualitative data analysis, the researcher used interview technique in order to get information about students’ perceptions in reading, while in quantitative data analysis, the researcher used SPSS version 16. The result of the research showed that the implementation of Cooperative Script Method in experimental class was more effective to help the students in reading comprehension on recount text compared to the use of the conventional method in control class of the eighth grade students of SMP N Kewapante, Maumere. It is also found that cooperative script method positively contributed to improve students’ reading comprehension. Therefore ,the researcher  suggests the teachers to use cooperative script method in order to improve students reading comprehension Additionally, cooperative script method can also motivate students to be more active, relax and enthusiastic to comprehend reading texts.

The research objective is to increase the wealth of mufrodat through hypnoteaching methods. The research subjects were all fifth grade students of MI Miftahun Najah Banyuputih Situbondo in the 2016/2017 Academic Year. Researchers used data collection instruments in the form of observation formats, question sheets, field notes, and interview guidelines. The research method is classroom action research. Data analysis techniques are planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The results of the study are: 1) The average memorization of students' mufrodat in the pre cycle before receiving hypnoteaching learning method treatment gets an average of 65.38. The smallest value is 55 and the highest value is 80. With the Minimal Completeness Criteria reference of 70, the number of students who get a score equal to or above the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 23% while students who have not reached the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 77%. 2) The average memorization of students' mufrodat in the first cycle after applying hypnoteaching learning method got an average of 72.3. The smallest value is 55 and the highest value is 80. With the Minimal Completeness Criteria reference of 70, the number of students who score equal to or above the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 61.5% while students who have not reached the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 38.5%. 3) The average memorization of students' mufrodat in the second cycle gets an average of 90. The smallest value is 75 and the highest score is 100. With a Minimal Completeness Criteria reference of 70, the number of students who score equal to or above the Minimal Completeness Criteria is 92.3% while students who have not yet reached Minimal Completeness Criteria is 7.7%. 4) The use of hypnoteaching method can increase the wealth of mufrodat of fifth grade students of MI Miftahun Najah Banyuputih Situbondo in 2016/2017 Academic Year.
