Grammar is the rules in a language for changing the form of words and joining them into sentences to create meaning. This research is focused on error analysis  on the using BE in Simple Present and Simple Past Tenses. The purpose of this study is to find out the grammatical errors in using BE in students’ composition. In this study the writer took the the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Nainggolan in the Academic Year of 2017/2018 consisting 25 students as the sample. The data are analyzed with descriptive qualitative method. The data were identified based on kinds of errors. The kinds of errors are omission and misordering. The results of the data analysis show that there are 155 errors made by the students in their compositions. The writer concluded that omission errors 68 or 61,80% in Simple Present Tense and  49 or 51% in Simple Past Tense, misordering errors 16 or 14,60% in Simple Present Tense and 22 or 23% in Simple Past Tense. But out of category there are 28 or 23,60 redundant sentences in Simple Present Tense and 25 or 26% redundant sentences in Simple Past Tense. The writer also concluded that there are two causes of errors, namely Translation and Carelesssness. Based on the result of the research, it is suggested that the students should learn and memorize grammatical rules an teachers should give clearer explanation on grammatical rules in English.

Writing cannot be separated from sentences. Constructing sentences is astart to write a composition since it has levels of difficulties starting from wordsto sentences, sentences to paragraph and paragraph to longer composition.Jumbled words is a method of teaching. There are some words or sentenceswhich are jumbled by teacher and the students must arrange them intocorrect sentences. This research is a descriptive quantitative one that focusedon the data analysis with form description with the scoring of the eight gradestudents’ grammatical errors in arranging jumbled words into meaningfulsentences at SMP Negeri 4Banyuwangi in the Academic Year 2016/2017. Purposive method was used todetermine the research area. The number of respondent were 30 students.The result of the data analysis showed that compose sentences was difficultfor the eight year students of SMP Negeri 4 Banyuwangi. (1) There are 126miordering of using adjective followed by noun with the percentage 23,37%.(2) There are 46 misordering of using verb followed byadverb with the percentage 8,53%. (3) There are 98 misordering of usingauxiliary verb ( do, do es and did )with the percentage 18,18%, (4) There are 95 misordering of using to be pasttense (was and were) with the percentage 17,62%. (5) There are75misordering of using Simple Present Tense with the percentage 13,91%. (6)There are 99 misordering of using Simple Past Tense with the percentage18,36%

This study aimed at describing the types of errors in seventh grade students’ descriptive texts and identifying causes of errors. There are two research questions in this study, namely: (1) What are types of grammatical errors made by seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sukawati in writing descriptive texts? and (2) What are the causes of grammatical errors made by seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sukawati in writing descriptive text?. The data for study were collected by document study, interview method, and recording. The instruments were researcher, writing task, guideline, interview guide, and mobile recorder. The results of this study showed that there were five types of errors found in students’ descriptive writing, namely: omission, addition, misformation, misordering, and spelling. The total number of errors was 541 errors. There were three causes error found in this study, namely: carelessness (40.67%), first language interference (53.42%), and translation (5.91%).

English and Indonesian are grammatically different. The difference proves that the rules and the application of grammar are the difficult problems in writing English. Based on previous preliminary research, many Third-Semester students of English Education Study Program had problems using grammar. This is supported by the results of unstructured interviews by researcher against students. Then students made mistakes they cannot correct called errors. As English Education students, they must have good competence in all language skills to become a good English teacher. In the future, students will teach writing effectively if they master the grammatical understanding.This research’s objectives were to find: (1) The the types of grammatical errors based on surface strategy taxonomy found in students’ descriptive essay,(2) The dominant grammatical error based on surface strategy taxonomy found in students’ descriptive essay,(3) The factors causing students made grammatical error in writing descriptive essays.To achieve the objectives, a qualitative method is used. Data collected by observation, interview and documentation from students’ descriptive essay worksheet then analyzed using error analysis.The findings of the research: (1) Grammatical errors are Misformation (3rd Person Singular, Plural, Auxiliary Verb, Dictionaries, Preposition, Conjunction, Pronoun, Singular, Simple Present Tense, Simple Past Tense), Omission (Simple Present Tense, Agreement, Auxiliary Verb, Plural, Article, Pronoun, Conjunction, Preposition, Adverb), Addition (Simple Additions, Double Marking), Misordering (Adjective, Pronoun, Auxiliary Verb). (2) The dominant grammatical error is Misformation with 47.05% from 170 errors. (3) The factors causing error are Interlingual and Intralingual.

Error may appear when students put the English grammatical incorrectly. Errors is mostly occurred in English as the foreign or second language. The aim of this study is describing kinds of errors are made by the seventh semester students of English department in Madura University on the use of simple past tense in a translated narrative text. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subject is seventh semester students of English department which consist of 15 students. The instruments used is translating test. The data is analyzed by collecting the data from students, identifying the errors based on its grammatical errors, classifying them into errors classification, and calculated them into percentage. The results showed that the students' errors can be classified into four kinds of errors, which are 25% for omission errors, 5.36% for addition errors, 62.5% for missed formation errors, and 7.14% for missed ordering errors. There are total 56 errors occurred which is dominated by missed ordering errors. The teachers recommended to make a clear understanding related to differentiate grammatical differences between Indonesia and English. Further, students need to practice it more often. The other researchers can provide techniques to increase students’ English grammatical understanding, especially in simple past tense usage.

This study was intended to figure out the effectiveness of Numbered Heads Together in improving speaking skill of the seventh grade students of SMP PGRI 4 Denpasar. This study was conducted in class VII B which consisted of 16 students: 12 males and 4 females. This study was conducted by the fact that the subjects still faced problem in speaking skill especially in vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. Based on the result of the pre-test which was carried out in the pre-cycle, among 16 subjects who did the pre-test, there was none of the subjects passed the minimum score. The present study was then carried out by implementing Numbered Heads Together in successive two cycles where each cycle consisted of two sessions. The results of post-tests score for cycle I was 2.67 while in cycle II was 3.18. The results of post-test in each cycle showed that there was a significant progressing achievement of the subjects’ speaking skill. In addition, the data analysis of questionnaire score showed the comparative percentages figures of 55.78% for option A, 42.40% for option B, 1.80% for option C and 0% of option D. The result of the questionnaire above clearly showed that the students’ learning behavior and motivation have been improved significantly when Numbered Heads Together was implemented in teaching speaking. In conclusion, the present classroom action study proved that Numbered Heads Together was effective to improve the seventh grade students’ of SMP PGRI 4 Denpasar ability in speaking skill; in addition, the subjects also responded positively to the implementation of Numbered Heads Together.

The purpose of this study is to know the students problemsin translating English into Indonesian proverbs. The writer took the population consist 1 teacher and taken theentire sample that consist of 13 students. The research method applied was a qualitative method by translating proverbs text which is consist 20 items. The result shows that there were eight kinds of problems on  the translation of English proverb into Indonesian, they are (1) the meaning error on using article, (2)  plural, (3) participle, (4) modal auxiliary, (5) demonstrative, (6) gerund, (7) adjective, and (8) comparative degree. This also describe that the students of SMA Muhammadiyah Mataram still have difficulties in translating skill. The students made the grammatical errors in translating English proverb because they have different point of view from the researcher, they are overloaded with many different tasks, they do not think that grammar point is important, the point is more difficult for them than it seems, and they do not know the function of certain grammar.

The aim of this study is to find whetever Murder technique works effectively on improving students’ reading comprehension and to describe the students’ responses towards the application of Murder technique in the learning teaching processes of reading comprehension. The subject of the study in the seventh grade students of SMP Santo Thomas 1 Medan in the Academic Year of 2020/2021 consisting 32 students of class VII-A. This study  was conducted by applying Classroom Action Research (henceforth CAR). The result of the test showed that the students’  mean  score in pre-test is 55,00  with 16% of students got ≥ 70, in formative test is 68,13 with 38% of students got score ≥ 70, and 83,13 in post test  with 100% of students got score ≥ 70. The qualitative data analysis showed that the students’ responses after being taught by using Murder Technique are very good. The percentage students who strongly agree is 26 (81%), agree is 27 (84%), there is no students choose strongly disagree and disagree. It is suggested that the English teachers use Murder Technique as an alternative technique in teaching reading to the students in Junior High School in order to improve their students’ reading comprehension.

The purpose of this study was to analysis students’ vocabulary in learning English of Ninth grade at SMP Swasta Yayasan Pangeran Antasari, Medan in the academic year of 2018/2019. The researchers used descriptive qualitative method to describe and implementing factual condition and characteristic. There are 72 students that decided two classes at ninth grade as the population. But the researcher only took one class consists of 36 students as the sample. To collecting data, researchers use questionnaire and vocabulary comprehension test as procedure. In analyzing the data, the researchers identifying the difficulties of students’ vocabulary and cause difficulties by analyzing students answer sheets and their mistakes. There were 25 students (70%) incorrect answer in the questions. There were 6 students (16%) in modal, there were 8 students (23%) in simple past tense, There were 8 students ( 24 %) in simple present tense, 3 students (7%) troubled in simple continuous tense. Meaning.  Students who gave incorrect answer in the questions were  29 students (82%). Others difficulties is translation being other types of the questions that examined in this research. it was found that there were 23 students (64%) who were unable to give the correct answer. Concluding the cause difficulties of students’ vocabulary in learning English are the first students difficulties in pronouncing the words. Grammatical form be the second cause because the written form is different from the spoken form in english. The last, students does not give their attention to study english more, knowing a words much more, and limitations their time to sources of information about new words vocabulary. Online learning is considered less than optimal, students are lazy to learn, careless because they are not controlled, and lack enthusiasm. One of them is in the Civics subject of Human Rights material for class XI SMA. Therefore, the use of Google Classroom learning media is very appropriate. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Google Classroom in improving students' abilities during distance learning. This study used the subjects of class XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 SMAN 1 Dawarblandong, Mojokerto Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year. Methods This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the type of classroom action research. The data collection technique used is daily test/test. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed that in the pre-cycle student learning outcomes that did not meet the percentage of total learning outcomes, the school KKM was 61.76%, while in the implementation of learning using Google Classroom the first cycle obtained student learning outcomes that were completed were 47.05% and were not completed 52.94 %. In the second cycle the number of students who completed was 82.35% and not completed only 17.64% with the standard KKM is 67 points. ABSTRAKPembelajaran daring dinilai kurang maksimal, siswa malas belajar, lengah karena kurang terkontrol, dan kurangnya antusias. Salah satunya yaitu pada mata pelajaran PPKn materi Hak Asasi Manusia kelas XI SMA. Oleh karena itu penggunaan media pembelajaran Google Classroom sangatlah tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas Google Classroom dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa selama pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini menggunakan subyek siswa kelas XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 SMAN 1 Dawarblandong, Kabupaten Mojokerto Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah ulangan harian/tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menjukkan bahwa pada prasiklus hasil belajar siswa yang belum memenuhi prosentase jumlah ketentuntasan belajar, KKM sekolah adalah 61,76%, sedangkan pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran menerapkan Google Clasroom siklus pertama didapatkan hasil belajar siswa tuntas adalah 47,05% dan tidak tuntas 52,94%. Pada siklus kedua jumlah siswa yang tuntas adalah 82,35% dan tidak tuntas hanya 17,64% dengan standart KKM adalah 67 poin.

The goal of this research is to investigate grammatical errors in speaking performed by tour guides in Gorontalo city. As demanding English is a compulsory language for those who work in the tourism sector when they deal with foreign tourists. This study aims to uncover grammatical errors produced by Gorontalo tour guides. Afterwards, this research uses sequential mixed method that proposed by Creswell, which aims to investigate and discover the types of grammatical errors followed by modus data. Moreover, the data analysis of this study uses a guideline that proposed by Politzer and Ramirez who explained the types of grammatical errors in detail. This study reveals that the ability of 12 tour guides produce speaking in a grammatically low manner. It indicates that the number of grammatical errors is dominated by the verb phrase, noun phrase and transformation. Followed by third person present singular, simple past tense, and past participle. Overall, this research is expected to contribute to tour guides in Gorontalo city, especially what needs to be emphasized by tour guides in speaking grammatically.Keywords: grammatical errors; tourist guide; Gorontalo
