The article analyses the technological features of assembly of important types of joints, which include group threaded connections. Taking into account the requirements of the joint sealing, the forces in the fasteners for the case of multistroke tightening are calculated. The procedure for loading these parts at the fi rst and subsequent rounds for different values of relative compliance of joint parts is proposed. The calculation versions and the results of comparative analysis of analytical and experimental studies are given.

Investigation of the influence of the peculiarities of raw material composition and structure of traditional and innovative linen textile materials on their hygienic properties. Theoretical and experimental investigations are based on the main positions of textile materials science. In experimental studies, modern standardized methods for determining the hygienic properties of textile materials were used, as well as techniques specially developed taking into account the peculiarities of the operating conditions of underwear. The peculiarities of the operating conditions and the basic functions of hospital underwear were determined. The comparative analysis of hygienic properties of traditional and modern fabrics for underwear was carried out. Using the standardized and the developed methods, adapted to the peculiarities of the conditions of use of the products, the indicators characterizing the processes of water absorption of the materials were experimentally determined. On the basis of the obtained values of quality indicators, a comprehensive assessment of the ability of materials to transfer moisture and air, with the calculation of the arithmetic complex quality index was done. This allowed to determine the material that is optimal in properties, which provides thermophysiological comfort when operating hospital underwear. Using the developed methods, which take into account the specifics of the operating conditions, a comparative analysis of the hygienic properties of traditional and innovative materials for underwear was carried out. A new range of textile materials for underwear has been proposed, taking into account the peculiarities of the operational situation of consumption.

A comparative analysis has been carried out on two options of three-phase parametric current sources (inductive-capacitive stabilizers). Their capacities to operate in voltage stabilizer mode have been studied. Such capacities were proven and their conditions were defined. Theoretical results were experimentally checked and confirmed with satisfactory accuracy. Based on theoretical and experimental studies it was proven that the considered systems can operate in both modes – as current and voltage stabilizers.

This paper presents a comparative analysis between the practical results of pig iron die-type part casting and the results reached by simulation. The insert was made of polystyrene, and the casting was downward vertical. As after the part casting and heat treatment cracks were observed in the part, it became necessary to locate and identify these fissures and to establish some measures for eliminating the casting defects and for locating them. The research method was the comparisons of defects identified through verifications, measurements, and metallographic analyses applied to the cast part with the results of some criteria specific to simulation after simulating the casting process. In order to verify the compatibility between reality and simulation, we then simulated the part casting respecting the real conditions in which it was cast. By visualising certain sections of the cast part during solidification, relevant details occur about the possible evolution of defects. The simulation software was AnyCasting, the measurements were done through nondestructive methods.

The research aimed to study methods for calculating wood-concrete beams of rectangular cross-section when testing building structures according to the ultimate limit state. The article focuses on the comparison of theoretical methods for calculating structures and considers several methods of fastening the samples of a typical wood-concrete beam. There were obtained experimental data of the ultimate limit state for each sample and carried out a comparative analysis of the most advantageous scheme of fastening the sample parts. The scientific novelty is in the development of an algorithm for calculating composite wood-concrete beams of rectangular cross-sections. As a result, numerical comparison of the values for calculating a typical wood-concrete beam using two of the methods under consideration was given, experimental studies were carried out, as well as a comparative analysis of the obtained theoretical and experimental results.

AbstractThis article is Part II of the paper containing a description and results of the experimental studies of the deformations, friction processes and structural damping that occur in the foundation bolted joints of propulsion plant components and auxiliary machinery installed on sea-going ships. Part I of this research work presents an analysis of the rigid mountings of machines and devices to the foundations on steel or resin chocks, and explains the need to carry out relevant research in this area. It also presents the description and results of experimental studies carried out for a foundation bolted joint with a conventionally used steel chock. Part II (this article) contains a description and results of similar studies carried out for a foundation bolted joint with a modern chock – cast from epoxy resin compound (EPY), specially developed for this purpose. Then, a comparative analysis of the results obtained for both bolted joints in question was made and the foundation chocks of the poured-in-place resin compound were demonstrated to better fulfill their technical tasks than the steel chocks traditionally used for this purpose.

According to the results of experimental studies, empirical dependencies were obtained (obtained from the appropriate mathematical models). The advanced (refined) method of engineering calculation of express-estimation of the strength of sloping cross sections of elements of flexible reinforced concrete structures on the basis of comparative analysis of the obtained empirical dependencies and standard accepted methods in the world was developed (nine basic norms are taken: DSTU B.V.2.6-156:2010 (Ukraine), previously operating SNiP 2.03.01-84*, SNB 5.03.01-02 (Belarus), SR 63.13330.2012 (Russia), Eurocode 2, 2004 (European Union), ACI 318-M14 (USA), AIJ Code, 2007 (Japan), CSA 23.3-04 (Canada), DIN 1045-1 (Germany). The coefficient of variation of bearing capacity and accident ratio according to the results of calculations of standard methods are determined. Their comparative analysis is carried out and informative graphic figures are presented.

Aim. To study the effect of different concentrations of ethylene glycol and glycerin in equilibration and vitrifi cation solutions on 1) the viability and further development of frozen-thawed bovine ovarian cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs), cryopreserved by vitrifi cation method, 2) on the effectiveness of inseminating mature oocytes, obtained from them, and 3) on the formation of embryos. Methods. Biotechnological, cryobiological, morphological, cytogenetic, and statistical methods, as well as methods of statistical data processing were used in the research. Results. The results of experimental studies on the effect of different concentrations of ethylene glycol and glycerin in the equilibration solution during cryopreservation of bovine ovarian COCs (n = 502) on their viability and further development after freezing-thawing are presented. We also show the results of the comparative analysis of cryoresistant properties of bovine ovarian COCs (n = 560) using different concentrations of ethylene glycol and glycerin, as cryoprotectants, in the vitrifi cation solution in terms of the viability and maturation of the oocytes, which originated from these COCs, up to metaphase II of meiosis. A comparative analysis of the application of ethylene glycol and glycerol in differ- ent concentrations for the equilibration and vitrifi cation solutions in cryopreserving bovine ovarian COCs (n = 220) demonstrated a relationship between the level of concentration of these cryoprotectants and the number of embryos after in vitro insemination of mature gametes, obtained from these frozen-thawed COCs. Conclusions. It was found that the use of 25 % ethylene glycol and 5 % glycerin in the equilibration solution and 10 % ethylene glycol and 40 % glycerin in the vitrifi cation solution during cryopreservation of bovine ovarian COCs ensures lower toxicity of these solutions and promotes more effi cient (up to 14.3 %) formation and development of embryos after in vitro insemina- tion of mature gametes, obtained from these COCs
