Implementation of the Small Group Discussion Method in the Learning Process with the Results of Nurse Competency Test in Akademi Keperawatan Sehat Binjai 2019

Most of the students of the PG PAUD PGRI JEMBER Study Program, still do not have the ability to make greeting sentences, congratulations, thanks, and apologies. This study aims to explain the process of increasing the ability to use Indonesian in making sentences greeting and increasing the ability to use Indonesian in making sentences. This study was designed as an action research with two cycles. Data analysis used descriptive analysis with both qualitative and quantitative approaches (percentages). The research findings show that the learning process by using small group discussion methods and image media has run quite effectively. Likewise, the ability of students to make sentences also increases, both individually and classically. The conclusion of the research shows that the method of small group discussion and image media can be applied by students to be able to improve students' abilities in making greeting sentences, congratulations, thanks, and apologies

The objective of this research is to answer the question on how small group discussion strategy could improve the students speaking skill. The research was conducted at the seventh grade students of SMPN 3 Ciawi in academic year 2019/2020. This paper used descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through observation during teaching learning process. To add important data and resource, the researchers also did library research and internet research. The theory that support this research is based on the theory of Giri in (Rahmat 2017). This research consists of plans, how to develop and improve students speaking skills ability using small group discussion strategy. It also contains the preparation, teaching-learning process and the evaluation. The result of this research indicated that: (1)small group discussion strategy could build confidence of students’ in speaking; (2) engage students in work group discussion communicatively; (3) the students have the opportunities to improve their speaking skills. Keywords: small group discussion, teaching, speakingPenelitian ini bertujuan adalah untuk menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana strategi diskusi kelompok kecil dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Ciawi tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Makalah ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi selama proses belajar mengajar. Untuk menambah data dan sumber penting, peneliti juga melakukan studi pustaka dan penelusuran internet. Teori yang mendukung penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori Giri dalam (Rahmat 2017). Penelitian ini terdiri atas perencanaan, bagaimana mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan strategi diskusi kelompok kecil. Selain itu juga berisi persiapan, proses belajar-mengajar dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) strategi diskusi kelompok kecil dapat membangun kepercayaan diri siswa dalam berbicara; (2) melibatkan siswa dalam diskusi kelompok kerja secara komunikatif; (3) siswa memiliki kesempatan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mereka.Kata kunci: strategi diskusi kelompok kecil, mengajar, berbicara

The purpose of this research was to know the learning process and automotive base education in measuring tool lesson achievement students of class 10 TKR D SMK N 1 Sedayu with small group discussion/Buzz group. This research is Classroom Action Research by using Kemmis model with two cycle of learning process. The subjects in this research were students of class 10 TKR D which is 24 students. The data collecting technique in this research was using observation and tests. The result of this research showed an increase in the learning process and achievement of students in the learning process. This is indicated by an increase in percentage of students learning process on the first cycle is 79% and on the second cycle increased to 79%. The percentage of the KKM students increased, first cycle at 66,66% increased to 91,66% in the second cycle.

In this research, the researcher applied Small Group Discussion to overcome the problems that were faced by the students. This research was conducted in order to improve students’ reading ability in descriptive text through Small Group Discussion at the seventh grades of MA Al-Hisi Ringinsari Sumbermanjing Wetan 2016-2017. In conducting this research, the researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the method of research. The researcher conducted this research in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meetings. The researcher used Small Group Discussion to create comfortable atmosphere during teaching and learning process of reading, and more importantly to improve the students’ reading ability especially on reading descriptive text. The subject of this research was the students of seventh grade at MA Al-Hisi Ringinsari Sumbermanjing Wetan 2016-2017 on academic year especially VII IPA class. The instruments to collect the data were interview, observation checklist, and reading test. The result of the research showed that by using Small Group Discussion in teaching reading descriptive text. The researcher could improve the student’s reading ability especially descriptive text. Their responses showed that they were interested to learn reading subject because they felt easier to read using Small Group Discussion.
