This article discusses about the goods that we all use and buy every day and its two social features. The article reveals the hidden secrets of this economic category, which we all know, and simple, straightforward and understandable. Two different properties of a commodity: the content of value and utility, the cause of which is the dual characterization of labor in the commodity: a clear and abstract description, the constant evolution and complementarity of the value and utility of the commodity, important theoretical, methodological and practical significance is explained.

In this paper, a computational approach suitable to compute the instantaneous mobility of manipulators in any kind of configuration (either singular or nonsingular) using a general purpose software is presented. Although the procedure is applicable to any formulation of the velocity equation, in this paper authors have used a point-based jacobian formulation of the manipulator. The end-effector’s instantaneous mobility is analyzed, first discriminating among its rotational, translational and passive freedoms, and then computing its principal screws. Then, either its instantaneous screw systems or certain instantaneous pitch surfaces can be depicted. The approach is illustrated with its application to the 3-URU DYMO parallel manipulator.

Link residual closeness is reported as a new graph vulnerability measure, a graph-based approach to network vulnerability analysis, and more sensitive than some other existing vulnerability measures. Residual closeness is of great theoretical and practical significance to network design and optimization. In this paper, how some of the graph types perform when they suffer a link failure is discussed. Vulnerability of graphs to the failure of individual links is computed via link residual closeness which provides a much fuller characterization of the network.

The study is devoted to defining the basic principles of formation of the style direction "unisex" as a design practice of fashion design; the formulation of generalized image-design characteristics of this style direction for the development of costume collections as a relevant fashion product for mass consumption. Methodology of research is based on a comprehensive approach to identifying image-design and artistic-compositional properties of costume collection development, in particular methods of socio-cultural analysis, historical and logical development, system-structural, comparative, compositional and stylistic analysis. At separate stages methods of morphological analysis and synthesis, sociological interrogation are applied. The origin of the "unisex" style direction, its features, the obligatory compositional elements in fashion design, the evolution of form, the main elements of products in the style of "unisex" are studied. The stylistic direction of "unisex" is characterized from the standpoint of assimilation of interactive development of men's and women's costume of the twentieth century. The systematization of figurative-design and constructive-compositional features of the main substrates of the style direction "unisex" in the modern market of fashionable clothes of general purpose is carried out. It is identified and characterized the artistic and compositional features of the collection of modern women's clothing in the stylistics of "unisex", taking into account modern materials. The general features of the collection models are systematized and the elements characteristic of the "unisex" style direction, which are the basis for designing the author's collection of women's clothing are structured. The author's collection of women's clothing, corresponding to the tendencies of the "unisex" style direction, has been designed. The scientific novelty of the study is to determine the image-design properties of the style direction "unisex" as a design practice in modern fashion design for mass consumption. The degree of aesthetics of the ideological content and gender aspects of the image-project of "unisex" phenomenon in the modern cultural and artistic space is determined. The main elements of the suit, which interactively interact with the design of men's and women's clothing as a fashion product, have been identified. The practical significance of the study of the main design characteristics of the application of the style direction of "unisex" in clothing design is determined by commercial potential, which allows fashion designers in the mass market segment and clothing brands to reduce production costs and further promotion: a single design, collection for men and women from the same materials, general advertising, etc.

French Musical is “younger” than the Broadway, popular; however, there is yet no serious scientific approach towards its examination. The subject of this research is nationalization of the French Musical in historical and genre contexts. The goal is to disclose role of French Musical as a relatively young genre on the theoretical level. The article employs the interdisciplinary approach, which involves the scientific theories and concepts from other fields; historical-culturological approach, which reveals the factors contributing to assimilation of French culture with the traditions of other cultures; systemic approach aimed at examination of professional performance in French Musical as a result of development of the genre in late XX – early XXI centuries. The scientific novelty consists in introduction of the previously missing biographical materials and new information on the establishment and development of the genre of French Musical and its national specificity. The theoretical significance lies in characterization of the concepts of “French Musical”, “popular culture”, “interpretation of classical music”, “musical performance” in the context of art history knowledge, as well as methodology of science. The practical significance lies in broader understanding of the role of establishment and proliferation of French Musical, comparison of the use of chanson and jazz in the Musicals of France and the United States. The main result consists the statement that French Musical contains the key to understanding the French people, their thought pattern, and tastes. This genre allows them to express and defend their values and uniqueness.

This paper presents a general-purpose formulation of a large class of discrete-time planning problems, with hybrid state and control-spaces, as factored transition systems. Factoring allows state transitions to be described as the intersection of several constraints each affecting a subset of the state and control variables. Robotic manipulation problems with many movable objects involve constraints that only affect several variables at a time and therefore exhibit large amounts of factoring. We develop a theoretical framework for solving factored transition systems with sampling-based algorithms. The framework characterizes conditions on the submanifold in which solutions lie, leading to a characterization of robust feasibility that incorporates dimensionality-reducing constraints. It then connects those conditions to corresponding conditional samplers that can be composed to produce values on this submanifold. We present two domain-independent, probabilistically complete planning algorithms that take, as input, a set of conditional samplers. We demonstrate the empirical efficiency of these algorithms on a set of challenging task and motion planning problems involving picking, placing, and pushing.

This chapter outlines the main conceptual and substantive contributions of this book, and provides an overview of the three parts composing it. A characterization of the concept of human rights is offered. The eight components of the dignitarian approach to human rights developed in the rest of the book are outlined. They comprise: (C1) an account of human dignity; (C2) the ideal of solidaristic empowerment; (C3) a distinction between abstract and specific human rights and a division of three dimensions of a conception of human rights; (C4) an account of feasibility; (C5) general and dignitarian schemas for justifying rights; (C6) a contractualist framework of reasoning for justifying rights; (C7) the method of deliberative reflective equilibrium; and (C8) the idea of a deliberative interpretive proposal. Finally, the practical significance of the idea of putting humanity first—which follows naturally from the dignitarian approach—is identified.

In this study, poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL)/multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites with different contents of MWCNTs were successfully prepared by solution compounding, a method which could make them good competitors for commodity materials such as general purpose plastics, while allowing them to keep their complete biodegradability. For the homogeneous dispersion of the MWCNTs in the polymer matrix, oxygen-containing groups were introduced on their surface. The mechanical properties of the PCL/MWCNT composites were effectively increased due to the incorporation of the MWCNTs. The composites were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, in order to obtain information on the dispersion of the MWCNTs in the polymeric matrix. In the case of the composites containing 2.0 wt% of MWCNTs in their matrix, the strength and modulus of the composites were increased by 18.4% and 178.4%, respectively. In addition, the dispersion of the MWCNTs in the PCL matrix resulted in a substantial decrease in the electrical resistivity of the composites as the MWCNT loading was increased from 0 to 2.0 wt%.

This study aimed to provide insight into antimicrobial susceptibility and homology of Elizabethkingia meningoseptica in a hospital environment. Samples from environmental surfaces and the hands of medical staff were screened for E. meningoseptica and antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed; Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) was employed to subtype E. meningoseptica strains; The resistant genes were detected by PCR. In total, six isolates of E. meningoseptica were collected from 280 samples. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed that all of the six strains displayed multiresistance, showing resistance to more than three different classes of antibiotics. The strains were separated into five different PFGE patterns. The sulII gene was detected in four of the strains. Our data show that multiresistant E. meningoseptica strains exist in the hospital environment and susceptibility testing revealed that vancomycin was the most effective antibiotic. These results have practical significance for treatment of E. meningoseptica infection.
