The dynamics of infection of anchovy Engraulis encrasicolus Linnaeus, 1758 with nematode parasite Hysterothylacium aduncum Rudolphi, 1802 in the Sea of Azov during the summer seasons of 2015 and 2017-2020 and autumn seasons of 2017-2020 is analyzed. To specify the scheme of infestation, the division of nematodes into living and degenerating ones was used. The degenerating specimens were attributed to three stages of destruction. The infection rate was estimated by using of the common parasitological indices (prevalence of infection, intensity values, abundance of larvae). Statistical analysis of data obtained in the process of the research was conducted using Spearman’s rank correlation.

This talk is devoted to the statistical analysis of the new catalogue of Chemically Peculiar stars compiled from papers, where chemical abundances of those stars were given. The catalogue contains chemical abundances and physical parameters of 428 stars based on high-resolution spectroscopy data. Spearman's rank correlation test was applied for 416 CP (108 HgMn, 188 ApBp and 120 AmFm) stars and the correlation between chemical abundances and different physical parameters (effective temperature, surface gravity and rotational velocity) was checked. From dozens interesting cases we secluded four cases: the Mn peculiarities in HgMn stars, the Ca correlation with respect to effective temperature in AmFm stars, the case of helium and iron in ApBp stars. We applied also Anderson-Darling (AD) test on ApBp stars to check if multiplicity is a determinant parameter for abundance peculiarities.

Introduction Individuals with Down syndrome may have decreased respiratory muscle strength due to hypotonia, a common characteristic in this population. Objective To analyze the effects of a hippotherapy program on respiratory muscle strength in individuals with Down syndrome. Materials and methods The study included 41 subjects, 20 of which were in the hippotherapy practicing group (PG) and 21 of which were in the non-practicing group (NPG). Study subjects were of both sexes, aged 7-13 years, and all diagnosed with Down syndrome. A manovacuometer was used to measure respiratory muscle strength, following the protocol proposed by Black and Hyatt (23). Statistical analysis was performed by means of descriptive distribution. After verifying normality and homoscedasticity of the variables, the Mann-Whitney test was used to determine differences between the means of the two groups (PG and NPG), and the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient test was used to view possible relationships with age and time practicing hippotherapy. Significance was set at p < 0.05. Results and discussion Individuals who practiced hippotherapy showed improvements in both inspiratory and expiratory respiratory muscle strength, although no significant difference was demonstrated. Conclusion This study demonstrates that hippotherapy benefits respiratory muscle strength in individuals with Down syndrome, and that the youngest subjects had the best results.

Stability of estimated breeding values for average daily gain (ADG) between 5 and 10 weeks of age was analysed for 47 242 Pannon White rabbits, reared in 7470 litters and born between 2000 and 2008. The dataset was divided into 5 successive 5-year periods: (1) 2000&ndash;2004, (2) 2001&ndash;2005, (3) 2002&ndash;2006, (4) 2003&ndash;2007, and (5) 2004&ndash;2008. Then, after selecting the appropriate part of the pedigree for these sub-datasets, genetic parameters and breeding values were estimated for ADG using REML and BLUP methods. In the applied models sex, year-month, animal and random litter effects were considered. Estimated heritabilities for all 5 periods from 1 to 5 were moderate and stable (0.28 &plusmn; 0.01, 0.28 &plusmn; 0.02, 0.29 &plusmn; 0.02, 0.27 &plusmn; 0.02, and 0.28 &plusmn; 0.02). Magnitudes of random litter effects were low and stable (0.14 &plusmn; 0.01, 0.15 &plusmn; 0.01, 0.15 &plusmn; 0.01, 0.16 &plusmn; 0.01, and 0.16 &plusmn; 0.01). After breeding value estimation the dataset of period 5 was merged pair-wise with the other periods 4, 3, 2 and 1 using an inner join. Thus only the common records of the datasets representing the periods 5-4, 5-3, 5-2, and 5-1 were included in the merged datasets. In these merged datasets each rabbit had two breeding values for ADG based on two different periods. Spearman's rank correlation coefficients were calculated between the breeding values based on the dataset of period 5 and the other periods. With the successive years the rank correlation coefficients decreased (0.989, 0.979, 0.965 and 0.924). The correlation coefficients between ranks remained moderately high, even when the proportion of the common rabbits in the merged datasets was low. However, a reasonable re-ranking occurred among the top animals. Rank correlations for the top 100 and 1000 animals varied from 0.41 to 0.55 and from 0.37 to 0.54, respectively, which could influence selection efficiency if the rolling base were used for genetic evaluation.

The paper discusses the relationships of drug items communicated by teenaged interviewees to teenaged and adult interviewers. The subjects were teenagers residing in East, Central and West Harlem. A pool of 298 tapes of interviews was gathered from which sixty tapes were randomly selected. Thirty tapes were from the teenaged interviewers and thirty tapes were from the adult interviewers. The types of explanations used by teenagers for drug use included ten categories established by the investigator. The interrelationship among the ten categories were calculated by the statistical analysis, Spearman's rank correlation coefficient to determine the extent of agreement.

ABSTRACT Objective: This study aimed to analyze the contribution of parental behavior in DF development in preschoolchildren and seek its correlation with the level of DF. Materials and Methods: This study was addressed to preschoolchildren (3–6 years) in Bandung area using qualitative method through interviews with children. Data analysis was done using Spearman's rank correlation to find the correlation of parental behavior and level of DF. Results: Results revealed eight acquisition themes based on the parental behavior; two themes related to negative information, three themes related to direct conditioning, and three themes related to vicarious learning. Statistical analysis showed a significant Spearman rank correlation rs0.42% or 17.38% (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Parental behavior contributes to the development of DF in children at preschool ages through negative information, direct conditioning, and vicarious learning, as evidenced by the correlation of these parental behaviors with the level of DF in children.

European anchovy Engraulis encrasicolus L. is one of the most abundant fish species in the Sea of Azov – Black Sea basin. Historically it is the main commercial fish in all Black Sea countries. In modern conditions, the share of anchovy catches totals 80–85 %. In recent years (since 2001) the average annual catch was 250 tones. E. encrasicolus is a polytypic species. In the Black Sea and in the Sea of Azov there are two intraspecific forms – Black Sea anchovy (E. encrasicolus ponticus Alex.) and Sea of Azov anchovy (E. encrasicolus maeoticus Pusanov), and their taxonomic status is still unclear. An actual task is the assessment of the current population structure of E. encrasicolus and its possible changes under the influence of climatic and anthropogenic factors in order to develop the necessary measures to prevent negative impacts and to preserve the resource potential of the species. This work focuses on the study of European anchovy modern population structure in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the geological and paleoclimatic conditions of its formation and assessment of possible changes taking into account real natural and anthropogenic risk factors. The work is based on the research results of intraspecific morphobiological, biochemical, genetic and ecological variability of E. encrasicolus, as well as spatial and reproductive relationships between Sea of Azov anchovy and Black Sea anchovy. Investigations concerned with the study of intraspecific heterogeneity problem of E. encrasicolus in the Black Sea and in the Sea of Azov were reviewed. Data obtained by domestic and foreign authors for a 100-year period (1913–2014) were analyzed; the list of publications includes more than 40 titles. Our own research results were also used in the work. The information about reproductive area boundaries of Sea of Azov anchovy and Black Sea anchovy was systematized and summarized. Their reproductive areas were found to be distributed over the entire water area of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov and overlapped over the whole space. The absence of spatially separate reproductive areas and the presence of simultaneous spawning exclude belonging of Black Sea anchovy and Sea of Azov anchovy to different subspecies (geographical races). Population level of the differences between Black Sea anchovy and Sea of Azov anchovy was confirmed by the results of genetic and biochemical studies: the coefficients of genetic similarity and genetic distance between them were 0.9983–0.9985 and 0.0015–0.0017, respectively. Geological history of population structure formation of Engraulis encrasicolus was presented. Modern Sea of Azov anchovy and Black Sea anchovy in the past were spatially separated and came into contact again only after appearance of a number of differences between them in the course of evolution. Their isolation occurred in the newly formed Sarmatian Sea isolated from the Tethyan Ocean in the Miocene (23.0–5.3 million years ago). As a result, two geographically isolated and independent anchovy groups (western and eastern) appeared. Further development of these groups occurred at different rates. Faster rates of evolution of the western group led to the formation of more progressive Black Sea anchovy and Mediterranean anchovy, lower rates of evolution of the eastern group led to the formation of more primitive Sea of Azov anchovy. Only in the modern era, after the last glacial period had ended and the connection of the Black Sea with the Mediterranean Sea had been reconstituted (7–5 thousand years ago) Sea of Azov anchovy and Black Sea anchovy contacted, the process was followed by their subsequent hybridization, i. e. by the appearance of the zone of secondary intergradation. There is a real threat of Sea of Azov anchovy genofund destruction and its “genetic absorption” by Black Sea anchovy in conditions of introgressive hybridization in recent decades associated with salinity increase of the Sea of Azov caused by human economic activity. Nevertheless, the genetic uniqueness of Sea of Azov anchovy persists to the present, first of all, due to ecological isolation mechanisms – seasonal isolation (timing) and biotope isolation (site selection) during the reproductive period. А certain pattern of redistribution in the spawning population composition of Sea of Azov anchovy and Black Sea anchovy females was identified: the share of Sea of Azov anchovy females decreased while the share of Black Sea anchovy females increased. Thus, Sea of Azov anchovy and Black Sea anchovy populations are the “temperature” races adapted to different reproductive temperature conditions: Sea of Azov anchovy – to lower temperature conditions, Black Sea anchovy – to higher ones. In addition to seasonal isolation, the biotopic isolation of Black Sea anchovy and Sea of Azov anchovy was found. Black Sea anchovy prefers to spawn in open areas of the Black Sea with water salinity above 16 ‰: its share is here 55–60 %, whereas in the coastal waters its share does not exceed 5–40 %. Sea of Azov anchovy, on the contrary, in spawning period prevails in the coastal freshened waters with salinity below 15 ‰, with its share here reaching 60–90 %.

The previous studies about association of vitamin D and neurodevelopmental status in the first 1000 days of life showed inconsistent results. This study aimed to investigate correlation between vitamin D deficiency and neurodevelopmental in 2 years old infants. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Sukabumi and Waled, West Java involving 2 years old infants born from the mothers participated in previous cohort. Total 109 infants met the criteria. Vitamin D was measured and neurodevelopmental status was assessed using ASQ-3 in each subject. Statistical analysis using Spearman’s Rank correlation and multiple regression model. 50.4% infants had vitamin D deficiency (<50 nmol/L). Neurodevelopmental status showed appropriate for age. No significant association between vitamin D level and neurodevelopmental in 2 years old infants. However, there was an association between some developmental domains and vitamin D level at birth. No correlation between vitamin D and neurodevelopmental in 2 years old infants.
