UNSTRUCTURED Several studies have reported the positive impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on academic performance and outcomes. Despite some equipment, ICTs in education have many shortcomings at the National Public Health School (NPHS). These shortcomings were specially revealed during the search for responses to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Indeed, to curb the spread of coronavirus disease, some measures were taken, such as the closure of educational institutions. This resulted in a two-and-a-half-month suspension of educational activities. The NPHS, despite its willingness, was unable to use ICTs to continue teaching during the closure period of educational institutions. Based on an analysis of the weaknesses and challenges, this article aims to provide practical solutions to promote ICT use in teaching at the NPHS. It is a critical analysis based on the literature review of the responses to the Covid-19 crisis in the field of education and the use of ICT, the authors experience and comments of the use of ICT in teaching at NPHS. Raby's (2004) ICT integration model and Gueye's (2017) ICT integration factors guided the analysis. The weaknesses and challenges identified relate to the infrastructure and equipment for the use of ICT in pedagogical situations in a face to face and distance learning, the training of actors, the availability of qualified resource persons and adequate and specific financial resources, teachers motivation and the stage of use of ICT. Promoting the use of ICT in teaching at the NPHS, actions must be carried out to strengthen the infrastructure and equipment, human resources, the actors' skills and the teachers' motivation in the pedagogical use of ICT.

Abstract Public health issues and their equality aspects have been on the political agenda in Sweden since the early 1980s. Already in the 1990s, the Government presented the first public health policy bill. This highlighted the conditions for a sustainable development from a public health perspective. Increased equality was set to be the overriding objective in prioritizing public health work and that priority should be given to efforts that would improve the situation of the most disadvantaged. The foundation of today’s public health policy was laid in 2003 when the parliament decided on a new bill in which an overall goal for national public health policy was established: ‘Creating social conditions for good health on equal terms for the entire population’. The bill also established a cross-sectoral target structure for the overall public health work with eleven target areas. It also pointed out that public health policy is cross-sectoral and must be a part in all policy areas. In June 2008, the parliament adopted the bill A Renewed Public Health Policy. Changes made were (among other things) a rewording of the target areas, but many of the starting points were kept. The Swedish Commission for Equity in Health was set up in 2015 and given two main tasks, to produce a proposal that can help to reduce the health inequalities in society and to work for raised awareness of health inequalities in society and among stakeholders. The work of the commission was finished in 2017 and presents an analysis of how the public health policy works in practice, with regard to the intentions of policy framework. A number of problems or areas of development appear which the Commission considers need to be addressed. The presentation will first give a short overview of the Swedish public health policy from 2008 and will then present the commission’s conclusions and proposals for development areas.

The Philippines is one of many developing countries that has begun using the Internet to establish closer communication with entities abroad. Some educational institutions have begun engaging in Internet-based distance education to provide accessible, anytime, anywhere education. These ventures have focused on the tertiary level and post-graduate level of education. The quality of the Internet education that they provide has shown them to be at par with western institutions. However, in the primary and secondary levels of education, the situation is one of a large disparity between the levels of education provided by public and private schools of the nation. Many public educational facilities are located in remote areas where they do not even have electricity, telephone facilities, let alone Internet access. Due to lack of funding, the government has been forced to focus first on providing these schools with the most basic of amenities. Aside from these efforts, the government has also begun to provide ICT facilities to chosen schools that meet the basic requirements for ICT to function. The chapter discusses each of these major points in detail.

The study analyses trends in life expectancy by level of education and by occupational social class in Finland from 1981 to 2000 to assess to what extent these trends have been in accordance with the target of reducing socioeconomic differences in life expectancy set in the Government public health programme. The study is based on the census records for the population aged 35 or over, which have been linked to the death records for the years 1981 to 2000. The results show that, contrary to the public health target, the difference in the life expectancy between persons with tertiary and basic education and that between upper non-manual and manual occupational classes increased during the 1990s. Differences in the trends in mortality from alcohol-related causes of death and from other cancers than lung cancer accounted for most the increase in the socioeconomic gap among men. Different from the 1980s changes in cardiovascular mortality did not contribute to the increase in the socioeconomic gap. Among women the increase in the socioeconomic gap was mainly due to the heterogeneous group of other diseases and cancers other than lung and breast cancer

Abstract: The government has forced the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) into the curriculum of every level of education, from basic education to higher education. Thus, the influence of the demands of society, political maps, social and economic conditions is far more dominant in determining the direction of education in Indonesia than the system of public trust that accumulates in its philosophical view. Important philosophical beliefs as a counterweight and also determine the direction of the pace of education, so that educational institutions do not necessarily only function as producers of labor. On the awareness of the importance of the philosophical dimension in determining the direction of education (Islam), there are still parties (Muslims) who are allergic to even consider sinful, in touch with philosophy with all its rules. This article will answer the question; How is the construction of epistemology of knowledge according to the Qur'an and what are the implications of the epistemology for Islamic education? Kata Kunci: Epistemologi, Pendidikan Islam, dan Al-Qur’an
