Purpose: The present research is based on assessing the participants’ perceived quality in two editions of a middle distance popular race, examining the different characteristics these type of events.Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted through a perceived quality questionnaire for popular races breaking it down into the different factors identified in previous studies. The questionnaire was administered to participants in each of the editions by email.Findings: The results of this study indicated a decrease in the valuation of the perceived quality of the second edition, where the personal factor was the most valued in both editions. Women had a better opinion than men in both events and in all dimensions.Originality/value: The perceived quality analysis from the participants’ point of view will help the sports organizers and companies, public or private, engaged in the sporting events management to be more efficient and have better organization.

Breast cancer is one of the major causes of death among women. If a cancer can be detected early, the options of treatment and the chances of total recovery will increase. From a woman's point of view, the procedure practiced (compression of breasts to record an image) to obtain a digital mammogram (DM) is exactly the same that is used to obtain a screen film mammogram (SFM). The quality of DM is undoubtedly better than SFM. However, obtaining DM is costlier and very few institutions can afford DM machines. According to the National Cancer Institute 92% of breast imaging centers in India do not have digital mammography machines and they depend on the conventional SFM. Hence in this context, one should answer "Can SFM be enhanced up to a level of DM?" In this paper, we discuss our experimental analysis in this regard. We applied elementary image enhancement techniques to obtain enhanced SFM. We performed the quality analysis of DM and enhanced SFM using standard metrics like PSNR and RMSE on more than 350 mammograms. We also used mean opinion score (MOS) analysis to evaluate enhanced SFMs. The results showed that the clarity of processed SFM is as good as DM. Furthermore, we analyzed the extent of radiation exposed during SFM and DM. We presented our literally findings and clinical observations.

The paper presents the main methods of technical-economical analysis of the quality of the metallic material production. The technical - economical analysis of the electric steels quality can be processed both for the product (electric steel) and for the company (electric steelworks). Both the analysis methods for products (A) and the ones for companies (B) are presented in comparison. There are mainly presented and analyzed a specific analysis models for steels elaboration in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF). The main elements specific to the two categories of analysis methods, including mathematical models. The quality of the steels elaborated in the EAF is a very important parameter. From this point of view, there is the need of analyzing the electric steels quality in various methods, including by technical-economical ones. The technical - economical analysis of the electric steels quality can be processed both for the product (electric steel) and for the company (electric steelworks). For the technical - economical analysis for the electric steels quality, we can use two methods: methods of the analysis for the products quality (MAPQ); methods of the analysis for the companys (MACQ).

A prática esportiva melhora a qualidade de vida de pessoas com diferentes características, mas ainda não há informações sobre o impacto do esporte na qualidade de vida de pessoas com deficiência visual. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar a percepção da qualidade de vida de atletas cegos de futebol de cinco e de goalball e compará-la com a qualidade de vida percebida de pessoas com deficiência visual fisicamente inativas. Trinta e sete homens com deficiência visual, separados em três grupos: 12 atletas de futebol de cinco (idade: M = 27,3 anos, DP = 10,2), 13 atletas de goalball (idade: M = 30,3 anos, DP = 7,0) e 12 pessoas fisicamente inativas (idade: M = 25,3 anos, DP = 2,3), responderam ao questionário WHOQOL-Bref. Atletas com deficiência visual obtiveram maior pontuação na Qualidade de Vida Global e Saúde Geral e em todos os domínios do WHOQOL-Bref do que pessoas fisicamente inativas. Não houve diferença entre a qualidade de vida percebida dos atletas de futebol e de goalball. Portanto, a despeito do tipo de esporte, sua prática está relacionada a uma melhor qualidade de vida de pessoas com deficiência visual.Palavras-chave: Cego. Futebol de Cegos. Futebol de Cinco. WHOQOL-Bref.AbstractSports practice improves quality of life of people with different characteristics, but there is still no information about the impact of sport on quality of life among people with visual disorder. The aim of this study was to identify the perceived quality of life of blind football and goalball athletes and to compare it to perceived quality of life of physically inactive people with visual disorder. Thirty seven men with visual disorder, separated into three groups: 12 blind football athletes (age: M = 27.3 years, SD = 10.2), 13 goalball athletes (age: M = 30.3 years, SD = 7.0) and 12 physically inactive people (age: M = 25.3 years, SD = 2.3), answered the WHOQOL-Bref questionnaire. Athletes with visual disorder obtained a higher score in the Overall Quality of Live and General Health and in all domains of the WHOQOL-Bref than physically inactive people. There was no difference between the perceived quality of life of football and goalball athletes. Therefore, despite the type of sport, its practice is related to a better quality of life of people with visual disorder.Keywords: Blind. Blind Football. Football Five-a-side. Goalball. The quality of pig iron from the point of view of the customer, that is steel plant, is one of main factors affecting the quality and cost of steel production. Chemical composition and temperature of pig iron is among the parameters taking into consideration. The constancy of these parameters can result in steelmaking process on optimal level. The paper presents quantitative and quantitative analysis of pig iron produced in one of Polish steelworks. Analysis of the basic quality parameters of pig iron: the content of basic elements will be made. In the analysis statistical methods and quality tools will be applied.

Para el buen desarrollo de la gestión de eventos deportivos, la investigación trata de identificar los puntos clave para obtener el máximo rendimiento, coincidiendo una parte de los trabajos en el estudio de la calidad de servicio y la satisfacción del usuario. En la literatura se encuentra poco consenso en el uso de escalas estandarizadas para valorar las percepciones del espectador. El objetivo de este trabajo es definir la utilización de un método de consulta de expertos, como es el Delphi, para la elaboración de una escala de medida de la calidad percibida de los espectadores de eventos deportivos. Para ello se somete un cuestionario a la opinión de un panel de expertos en gestión deportiva y una muestra de espectadores, los cuales determinan que los factores clave para la calidad de los eventos deportivos son los tangibles, la accesibilidad, el personal, los servicios complementarios y las relaciones entre espectadores. A partir de este trabajo, se pudo elaborar una escala de medida de la calidad percibida por los espectadores de eventos deportivos conocida como EVENTQUAL.Abstract: For a good development of the sporting event management, research try to identify key points to obtain the maximum performance coinciding one part of the works in the study about the quality in services and satisfaction of the user. Not too much consensus were found in the research literature when was tried to use standard scales to valuate the perception of the spectators. The aim of this work is to define the utility of an expert’s method of reference, like is the Delphi, for the elaboration of a measure scale of the quality perceived by the sporting event spectators. To that purpose one questionnaire was subjected to the opinion of a panel of experts in sport management and to a sample of spectators, which determine that the key factors to valuate the quality in sporting event are: the tangibles, accessibility, the staff, the complementary services and the relation between spectators. From this work, it was able elaborate a scale to measure the perceived quality of spectators in sporting events known EVENTQUAL.

RESUMEN El propósito de esta investigación es estudiar la relación existente entre la calidad percibida y la calidad esperada desde las percepciones de los estudiantes en cuatro instituciones educativas de Huamanga, Ayacucho. Se realizó un análisis descriptivo correlacional y comparativo de medias con la finalidad de determinar, primero, si existía relación entre las variables. En  segundo lugar, verificar si se producían   diferencias significativas entre las mismas. El análisis correlacional nos permitió identificar procesos o patrones existentes en el mundo de las percepciones con respecto a la relación entre las variables; así como el análisis de diferencia de medias nos proporcionó evidencias de la evaluación general de la calidad del servicio educativo que se brinda en dichas instituciones. El estudio fue realizado a dos niveles: el general, considerando las cuatro instituciones educativas como grupo y el desagregado, por cada institución educativa. La muestra estuvo conformada por 339 estudiantes, correspondientes a cuatro instituciones educativas emblemáticas de la ciudad de Huamanga, Ayacucho. Los instrumentos de medición de las variables calidad percibida y calidad esperada, presentan una fuerte confiabilidad y cada uno de sus ítems muestra una alta consistencia interna. Descriptivamente, los resultados muestran que, para el 54% de los estudiantes encuestados, la calidad percibida es menor o igual que la media y para el 46% la calidad percibida es alta o muy alta. Respecto a la calidad esperada, el 27.2% espera una calidad baja o media, mientras que el 72.8% espera que sea alta o muy alta. En otras palabras, más de la mitad percibe una calidad baja o igual a la media y casi tres cuartas partes esperan una mejor calidad de la que están recibiendo. Por otro lado, en la evaluación de la calidad general del servicio (calidad percibida menos calidad esperada) se encuentra que para el 71% de estudiantes, la calidad es deficiente, ya que no llegan a percibirla como esperan, mientras que para el 29% la calidad es buena o excelente porque obtienen una calidad igual o que excede lo esperado. Desde el punto vista inferencial, se demuestra que existe una correlación moderada, positiva y significativa entre las variables calidad percibida y esperada. Sin embargo, al analizar dividiendo al grupo en valoraciones de la calidad percibida sobre y bajo la media, se encuentra que no existe correlación significativa entre las dos variables en el caso de estudiantes que valoran por debajo de la media. Por otro lado,  existe correlación positiva y significativa en el grupo de los alumnos que valoran por sobre la media. Este dato tiene enormes implicancias para los procesos de mejoramiento de la calidad. La diferencia de medias entre las variables es altamente significativa y con mayor valor hacia lo esperado que a lo percibido. Esto implica que la calidad del servicio educativo es significativamente deficiente.  ABSTRACT The purpose of this investigation was to study the relationship between perceived quality and expected quality of student’s perceptions from four educational institutions of Huamanga, Ayacucho. Correlational descriptive analyses and comparison of means were applied with the aim to determine if there was any relationship or any significant differences between the variables. Correlational analyses allowed identifying the processes or patterns in the world of perceptions about the relationship between variables and analysis of mean difference provided us with evidence of the overall assessment of the quality of education that is offered in these educational institutions. The study was conducted at two levels: the studies of a general nature which considered the four educational institutions and the disaggregated study on each educational institution. The sample consisted of 339 students, corresponding to four emblematic educational institutions of Huamanga, Ayacucho. The perceived quality and expected quality variables measuring instruments have a strong reliability and each of its items shows high internal consistency. Descriptively, the results show that for the 54% of students surveyed,  the perceived quality is less than or equal to the average, and for the 46% perceived quality is high or higher than the  expected quality ,, the perceptions of the  27.2% of students  about quality service received is  from  low to medium, while the 72.8% expected to be high or very high. In other words, more than half students perceived a lower quality or equal to the average and almost three-quarters expect a better quality than the one they are receiving. On the other hand, the evaluation of the overall quality of service (perceived quality minus expected quality) shows that for the 71% of students, the quality is deficient because they don’t get to perceive the quality they expect, while for the 29% the quality is good or excellent because they get an equal quality or exceed expectations.From the inferential point of view, it shows there’s a moderate correlation, positive and significant relationship between perceived and expected quality variables. However, the analysis by dividing the group in perceived quality variable ratings above and below the average shows that there’s no significant correlation between the two variables in the case of students who value below average. Instead, there’s a positive and significant correlation in the group of students who value above average. This fact has enormous implications for the processes of quality improvement. The mean difference among the variables is highly significant and greater value to the expected than the perceived. This implies that the educational service quality is significantly deficient.

Virtual communities are an increasingly popular way to conduct business over the Internet. However, from the service provider’s point of view they pose special challenges. In particular, unless the provider itself engages in content or service provision, the service relies entirely on its members for provision of services. The members should thus be seen as resources for service provision. This type of networked service production system implies challenges in terms of service quality management and, subsequently, value creation for community members. This paper explores these issues by revisiting service marketing and service operations literature on service quality. Analysis of the literature indicates that firms facilitating virtual communities need to ensure the quality of their service by not only ensuring technical quality but also by nurturing the social aspects of the community that have an impact on the willingness of community members to provide service to each other.

Parameters-factors as conditions and reasons defining one or another quality of state and process of labor behavior are demonstrated in this article. The said factors are: choice made by a person, labor situations, compensation for labor, person’s interests and needs, person’s psychological state, comparison as stimulating power of worker’s activity, worker ’s labor potential. To study the factors defining success of labor activity is necessary for deeper understanding of behavior reasons and directions of administrative influence in order to increase worker’s effectiveness. By synthesis of labor behavior different characteristics from the point of view related to work efficiency increase, it is possible to have a more precise orientation for detection of cause-and-effect relations which are very important in management.

PurposeThis paper aims to examine the extent to which sustainability information unfavorably impacts consumers’ behavior in the case of luxury. In particular, it explores the effect of social and environmental attributes on the perceived quality.Design/methodology/approachA between-subject experimental design involving 973 French and Saudi consumers has been conducted.FindingsThe results indicate that sustainability information negatively impacts the perceived quality of luxury products. However, this result varies regarding the consumers’ country of origin. While no significant effect was observed in the case of French respondents, Saudi consumers lower the evaluation of quality when social information is provided. In addition, the negative effect of sustainability information is moderated by the consumers’ degree of liking of luxury and by the brand corporate social responsibility image.Research limitations/implicationsThis research fills a gap occurred in the previous literature. In effect, limited studies examined perceptions of the association between luxury and sustainability. In addition, it enriches the limited literature on sustainable consumption in the context of developing countries. However, further studies should focus on specific dimensions of quality and examine different sustainable practices and luxury goods.Practical implicationsFrom a practical point of view, this study suggests new applications with respect to the link between luxury and sustainability.Originality/valueNo study to date, as per the authors’ knowledge, has investigated empirically the impact of sustainability information on the perceived quality of luxury products. Contrary to the literature indicating a positive effect of sustainable attributes on consumers’ behavior, this study confirms the incompatibility between luxury and sustainability.

BB-Pascapanen website is an official website of Balai Besar Pascapanen Bogor whose mission is to be able to integrate information as a research institute producing technology and innovation of agricultural post-harvest that supports the realization of food sovereignty and farmers' welfare. Based on the regulation and to accommodate those missions the website has been developed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the quality of the BB-Pascapanen website through a 2QCV3Q model. This model was chosen because it has a multi-party approach involving three actors in the development of a website, website owner, web developer and user which will make an analysis of website quality management implemented more detail. The results of the analysis show from institution and web developer point of view that the feasibility dimension needs performance improvement. While the other dimensions from user point of view that need to be improved are the dimension of identity (attributes of website uniqueness, Impressum distinctness), content (attribute of information detail and accuracy), services (attribute of correspondence feature), locations (attribute of availability of Link, URL easy to remember, easy searching in website, addresses written in website exists in google map, hotline), and usability (attribute of layout structure, orientation navigation and response, download time).
