Decades of research into learning have demonstrated that learners are diverse, changing, and adaptable. In this regard, the practice as educators must become flexible and adaptive to meet the wide variation of learning needs. A general consensus exists among educators, businesses, and other stakeholders that there is a significant gap between the knowledge and skills needed for success in life and the current state of education in schools throughout the world (The Conference Board et al., 2006). The internet, social networking, and distance education have created learners with a different set of characteristics, incoming skills, needs, desires, and goals. To meet the learning challenges of the 21st century, instructors must serve as catalysts of change by encouraging classrooms of open dialogue and developing the ability to effectively and efficiently use online communications. Through the process of learning from one another through problem-based activities, students and instructors improve the student-instructor relationship, encounter challenges, and solve them collaboratively.

Traffic on Web sites for young children (ages 3-12) has increased exponentially in recent years. Advocates proclaim that they are safe introductions to the Internet and online social networking and teach essential 21st-century skills. Critics note developmental concerns. In this article, we provide basic information about Web sites for young children, discuss developmental issues, and make recommendations for school counselors to be proactive and aware of the advantages and dangers inherent in these sites.

Internet is being used by people all over the world. It has become a part of their day-to-day activity. The smartness brought by internet and its related devices have made life of people easy. Sharing knowledge, researching, and reaching out to people are now within the reach of fingertips. This study aims to find the internet usage pattern of youth in Sikkim, India. Fourteen internet activities have been identified and through a survey. The usage of these activities was analysed for the youth population in Sikkim, India. It has been found that, more or less, all the activities are used by the youth population of Sikkim. The most popular activity is use of emails and social networking sites while blogging and video calling is not too popular. In addition, it has been found that 67% of the users use internet for more than 3 hours per day. Hence, there also is a serious risk of “internet addiction.”

Drouot-Documentation, the library of the oldest auction house in the world, began the 21st century by putting its furniture and furnishings database onto the Internet. This has given access not only to the 12,000 objects Drouot sells and photographs for its sales catalogues each year, but also to selected data in this specialised subject field from provincial sales in France and from others overseas, notably American and English ones. And there are plans eventually to convert the remaining manual indexes, which cover many other hard-to-find topics like the art of glass, ceramics and goldsmiths’ work.

We live in a world of great opportunities, but also of boundless demands. It is generally agreed that the 21st century would be a century of culture. Globalization of culture is an important element of social globalization. This process should be understood as a formation of various relationships and dependencies between societies and their cultures. Globalization of culture entails a change in values and norms, a disturbance of social memory, and shallow culture. Presently culture has become a consumer culture, and it is created by the world of media and the Internet. The article is an important voice in a wider discussion on the impact of cultural globalism on human security. The author is convinced that cultural globalism to the greatest extent affects human personality and social hazards. An important part of it is the description of personal security, in which human subjectivity, freedom and responsibility of cultural threats play a significant role.

The Internet is one result of the sophistication and advancement of science and man-made technology. Various conveniences offered, one of which is social media. But unfortunately, this sophistication has an impact on the quality of education. The worst impact in the world of education that may result from social networking sites is beginning to decrease interest in student learning. The subject of considerations are social media in the experience of children aged 8. The methodology selected was the method of focus groups. Focus participants were recruited from forty thirdgrade students from two selected primary schools. The results of the research presented in the text indicate a great interest on the part of the youngest generation in social networking sites. At the same time, they signal that children, despite the systematic use of these portals, are aware of the dangers resulting from applying these tools. Keeping watch of the education of their children, parents very often do not permit their offspring to use online resources unconsciously. Students recognize the risk of making inappropriate acquaintances, the consequences of self-presentation on the Internet, while being curious about the world of young citizens who will join active recipients of social networking sites in the near future.

The last decade witnessed an explosion of social networks such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc, which added a new social dimension to the web. While such networks have made people, communities and groups with shared interests stay more “connected”. Internet addiction and surfing so many social network sites on internet is an addiction and moreover this particular also started being recognized as psychological disorders all over the world. While several 90′s studies focused on Internet addiction, the next decade saw the growth of a new addiction related to all manner of social networking sites, especially the current king of the jungle: Facebook. This study investigated the existence of Internet addiction among youth and how users are becoming addicted to the Internet in much that same way that others became addicted to drugs or alcohol which resulted in academic and what are the advantages and disadvantages of social networking sites.
