Since 2001 Wikipedia has grown up to one of the most important sources of knowledge worldwide. The voluntarily and independent nature of the project has made it a very unique case of Information Systems with various elements which could affect the way each article is developed. In this paper by referring to the DeLone& McLean model of Information Systems success and considering the body of research in the field, the measures for evaluating the effectiveness of wiki articles have been identified. Then using a sample of 804 articles in Wikipedia and Structural Equation Model (SEM) method the model has been validated. The findings indicate that in the context of Wikipedia open content, system quality and information quality could be merged together and after this simplification, they can affect use and user satisfaction in open content platforms such as Wikipedia.

The influence of information systems (IS) on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has enjoyed much attention by managers and policy makers. Despite the hype and eagerness to commit extensive levels of investment, very little research has focuses on assessing the benefits of IS for SMEs in developing counties. Existing literature has been skewed towards developed countries and large organizations. Consequently, the purpose of this paper is to develop a model for evaluating the benefits of IS for SMEs in Saudi Arabia as a case of a developing country. In order to achieve this, the study builds on and extends past IS-impact literature. Based on quantitative results of 365 responses from SMEs, the model comprises 44 measures across five dimensions: ‘Individual impact’, ‘Organisational impact’, ‘System quality’, ‘Information quality’ and ‘Vendor quality’. Applying confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model, the validated model contributes to theory development of IS impact within the context of SMEs in developing counties. Additionally, it provides critical insights to policy makers and managers on assessing the benefits of IS for SMEs in developing countries.

Convenience has become an important indicator of e-commerce systems success. Based on the information systems management and marketing literature, this study explores how customer convenience in using functions and services affects e-commerce systems success. It proposes and analyzes a re-specified e-commerce system model based on the updated DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model with a new variable, e-commerce/electronic service convenience. The proposed model re-specifies and validates e-commerce systems success where continuance intention is proposed as a dependent variable and its relationship with independent variables such as information quality, system quality, e-service convenience, perceived usefulness and satisfaction are discussed. Partial least squares structural equation modeling technique is employed to analyze data collected by 210 users of business-to-consumer e-commerce systems in Taiwan. Findings indicate that continuance intention was found to be influenced by both satisfaction and perceived usefulness, which were found to be significant precursors of information quality, system quality, and e-service convenience. These results strongly support our contention that e-service convenience is an important factor affecting e-commerce systems success. They also offer practitioners and managers deeper insights into successful e-commerce systems implementation as well as aid researchers interested in testing related theories.

DeLone and McLean’s (1992) model of information systems success has received much attention among researchers. This study applies an adaptation of the full DeLone and McLean model, for the first time, in the user developer domain. Of the nine hypotheses derived from the model, four were found to be significant and the remainder not significant. There was strong support for the proposed relationships between perceived system quality and user satisfaction, perceived information quality and user satisfaction, user satisfaction and intended use, and user satisfaction and perceived individual impact. This study indicates that user perceptions of information systems success play a significant role in the user developed application domain. There was, however, no relationship between user developers’ perceptions of system quality and independent experts’ evaluations, and user ratings of individual impact were not associated with organizational impact measured as company performance in a business simulation. Further research is required to understand the relationship between user perceptions of information systems success and objective measures of success, and to provide a model of information systems success appropriate to end user development.

Hospital Information Systems assessment is important to ensure the quality of provided healthcare services. This research evaluates the success of the clinical information system used in the General Hospital “Asklepieio Voulas”. A questionnaire was developed based on the DeLone & McLean information systems success model, and used on February 2020, to record the users’ opinions regarding the information system. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested by applying Cronbach’s alpha analysis, descriptive statistics was calculated for all variables of the questionnaire, and new variables was created to investigate the relationships between the model’s factors. Correlation analysis between the factors and linear multiple regression analysis between some of the factors of the DeLone & McLean success model were conducted 218 users responded to the survey, 56.3% of them were medical doctors, 24.1% nurses, and 19.6% other staff of the hospital. Results highlight that the users of the system are satisfied with it. A77.3% of the participants believe that they perform their work more easily when using the system, while 89.3% of the participants believe that the system is useful in their work. According to the results of the model, system quality and information quality seems to be related with the system usage. Information quality plays the most important role in the use of the system while the system quality plays the most important role in user satisfaction. Based on the users’ opinions, the “Asklepieio Voulas” Hospital Information System can be assumed as successful.

While a considerable amount of research has been conducted on information systems success models, little research has been carried out to address the conceptualization and measurement of e-HRM success within organizations. Whether or not traditional IS success models can be extended to assessing e-HRM success is rarely addressed. This study provides the first empirical test of an adaptation of DeLone and McLean's IS success model in the context of e-HRM. The model consists of six dimensions: information quality, system quality, service quality, use, user satisfaction, and perceived net benefit. Structural equation modelling techniques is applied to data collected by questionnaire from 104 Human Resources (HR) managers and HR employees from a large Jordanian governmental ministry. The hypothesized relationships between the six success variables are significantly supported by the data. The findings provide several important implications for HR research and practice. This paper concludes by discussing the limitations of the study, which should be addressed in future research.

The modern internet era opened a plethora of opportunities for doing business online. Internet banking (IB) is one such innovation that made great strides from its humble beginnings in the mid-1990s. It is important for bank practitioners to know the factors contributing to the success of new technology by customers to enable them to be better placed in the competitive segment. This study proposes an extension to the Delone and Mclean IS success model to evaluate information systems(IS) success in the context of internet banking, with security as a new dimension. Data was collected from 312 respondents. The results found that security is a key factor for IB success. Furthermore, the study found that the dimension system quality has not had any substantial effect on IB user satisfaction; however, security and information quality were found to influence user satisfaction. Based on the findings, some implications for research and practice were prescribed, in addition to directions for future researchers of IS success in the IB context.

PurposeThis study aims to investigate the determinants of successful implementation of cloud computing and, further, examines how cloud computing success influences firm performance.Design/methodology/approachThe authors developed a conceptual framework based on the integration of several strands of literature in business studies and information systems. To test the proposed model, data were collected from 300 Chinese firms which have adopted cloud computing. To analyze the data, partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used. An importance-performance map analysis (IPMA) was also conducted to identify the critical factors that exhibit high importance but low performance.FindingsThe results of the study revealed that end-user satisfaction, information quality, system quality, managerial information technology (IT) capability and technical IT capability significantly affect cloud computing success. Additionally, cloud computing success has a strong and positive impact on firm performance. IPMA further confirms that managers need to concentrate more on system quality, information quality, user satisfaction and technical IT capability.Originality/valueThis paper is one of the few attempts to integrate several theoretical frameworks (i.e. IT capabilities and resource-based view, expectation-confirmation theory, and information system success theory) to develop a comprehensive model for understanding the key determinants of cloud computing success and its impact on firm performance. This study makes a useful contribution to the conventional information systems (IS) literature and IT management practice.

User satisfaction with information system quality has long been a substantial topic in the literature of information system (IS). Based on the key constructs of IS success model (including system quality and information quality) and technology acceptance model (including perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness), this paper builds and validates a theoretical framework to explain user satisfaction with information system quality. A survey study with AMOS-SEM analysis of 363 users of management information systems in 9 hospitals in HCMC, Vietnam showed that 12 of 14 hypotheses were empirically supported. The findings affirmed the direct influence of system quality, information quality and top management support on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and trust, and then on user satisfaction. The results also reinforced the impact of perceived ease of use on perceived usefulness, and the joint influence of perceived usefulness and trust on user satisfaction. The paper is among the first studies, in the healthcare sector, to empirically identify both information system quality and top management support in predicting user acceptance of and satisfaction with information system implementation in organizational settings. The theoretical and managerial implications of the paper were derived.
