E-commerce refers to business and customers buying and selling products online. There are significant improvements in the areas of initiating sale of products, placing orders, making payments, and transfer of funds. This has led to a much better global economy and better living standards for all. While buying products online, it is essential to know the payment method that ensures authentication and also many other security issues. There are many payments modes available in market today. This chapter presents different protocols and its security issues that relate to a specific payment mode.

This chapter presents the emerging security issues in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) for e-business along with some of the solutions provided by the research community. The VANET will facilitate new applications for e-business that will revolutionize the driving experience, providing everything from instant, localized traffic updates to warning signals when the vehicle ahead abruptly brakes. In the emerging global economy, e-business has increasingly become a necessary component of business strategy and a strong catalyst for economic development. In near future, vehicles may be equipped with short-range radios capable of communicating with other vehicles and highway infrastructure using a VANET. However, providing security in VANETs for e-business raises privacy concerns that must be considered. The deployment of VANETs for e-business is rapidly approaching, and their success and safety will depend on viable security solutions acceptable to consumers, manufacturers and governments.

The global economy is expanding moderately but the outlook has weakened further since October, and risks have increased. The global economy has been impaired from growth that has been too slow for too long, and at this rate a sustained recovery—with the expected higher living standards, lower unemployment and declining debt levels—may not be delivered. However, some recent improvement in data releases, somewhat firmer oil prices, reduced pressures on outflows from China, and actions by major central banks have all contributed to improving sentiment. Building on these recent positive developments, the global economy can get back on a stronger and safer track, but the current policy response will need to go further. Countries must reinforce their commitment to durable global growth and employ a more potent policy mix. A three-pronged approach with monetary, fiscal, and structural actions can work as a virtuous trinity, lifting actual and potential growth, averting recession risks, and enhancing financial stability. The IMF will support this commitment by helping countries identify space, craft appropriate policies, and build capacity to deliver on these policies; providing a strong financial backstop for policy implementation; and assisting members with new challenges.

Corporate mergers and acquisitions represent one of the most dynamic fields in the world of the business finance. These remarkably complex transactions success may vary depending on the economic and institutional environments in which the transactions are performed. This paper investigates the information content of the bid premium determined in the M&A transactions and focuses on the identification of significant differences in its amount depending on: (1) the observed timeframe (width of the event window observed relative to the moment of the transaction announcement); (2) current equity market trends (3) institutional environments and the degree of the economic development of the countries in which the transaction participants operate; and (4) selected payment method and motive for entering the transaction in regard to space and time dimensions of bid premium. Examining the sample of 783 merger and acquisition transactions at the global economy level, the research explores the importance and range of time and space determinants of bid premiums in M&A transactions. Our results confirm that bid premium carries significant information and that is highly dependent on the observed timeframe, i.e. we find evidence of information “leakage” prior to transaction announcement and sluggish adaptation to expected value creation due to market characteristics, level of economic development of countries in which M&As are operated and specific transaction characteristics such as payment method and motive for participating in such transaction. The paper shows that the results can often differ depending on whether the analysis includes dominant trends in the most important capital markets.

The latest technology is turning into a vital element in financial business. This paper presents a proposed system called Wi-Fi Security Card (WCS) based on the very common and growing problem of electronic transaction fraud in the countries of India. To solve such problems, we have proposed a novel secure payment method known as Wi-Fi Security Card (WCS). In this paper, we also compared the WCS system to another existing system called Dropped Card Detection (DCD) and Microcontroller and Sensors (MAS). The main advancement of our system over the existing system is that WCS can also prevent fraudulent transactions. Nowadays, security issues in e-payments are usually more demanding than current security issues on the internet. Our findings may enable e-transaction providers to extend their secure payment systems by increasing their protection as necessary for appropriate financial services.

Acrylonitrile is a key precursor in the production of a wide range of products in the chemical industries. The major products of acrylonitrile include acrylonitrile butadiene styrene resin, acrylic fibers, and adiponitrile. The demand for the roduction of acrylonitrile is affected by the global economy but because of the development of living standards; the demand for producing acrylonitrile and its derivations are significantly increasing. So in 2016, China alone produced 32% of the world’s acrylonitrile, and its production is expected to have a 55% increase in 2021. Acrylonitrile and its derivations have wide applications in different industries like car manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, and textile. Considering the importance of the acrylonitrile precursor in the current world, in this study, we discuss and investigate its production processes, the obtained copolymers, and polyacrylonitrile production and its application in the carbon fibers and compare it with other carbon fiber precursors such as mesophase pitch and cellulose. We also focus on its marketing in the world.

China is one of the most influential non-regional actors in the Mediterranean. As of 2021, it is ranked among the top three trading partners of almost all Mediterranean states. Chinese foreign policy in the Mediterranean reflects the growing importance of geoeconomics and, in particular, economic instruments of foreign policy in Chinas foreign policy strategy. The intersection of the routes of the Maritime Silk Road of the 21st Century and the Silk Road Economic Belt in the Mediterranean basin indicates the regions high potential for the development of new logistics routes, economic corridors and supply chains. Despite significant impact of the coronavirus restrictions on the global economy and the deepest economic crisis seen in recent years, China has not reduced its global activity. Actually, it is the pandemic that can become an incentive for the development of new formats of cooperation within the Belt and Road in the Mediterranean. Chinas traditional foreign policy paradigm presupposes emphasis exclusively on economic interaction and non-involvement in political issues. De facto Chinas economic relations with the countries of the region are increasingly complicated by military and political issues. The article categorizes the main political and security issues that arise between China and partner countries in the Mediterranean region. While the discourse of human rights and sustainable development prevails in relations with Europe, the issues of ensuring security and managing regional instability come to the fore when dealing with the states of North Africa and the Middle East. Given Chinas growing economic needs, it is likely that in the medium term there will be a doctrinal formalization of Chinas role in the political process in the Mediterranean region.

Research background: China’s share in the global economy has experienced a swift growth since opening up and reforming the country’s foreign policy in 1978. USA sanction on China has so far concentrated on a heap of issues including China’s enormous exchange shortfall with the U.S., currency control, constrained market access, licensed innovation robbery and security issues identified with Huawei. Also, USA sanction on China has so far lead to a decrease in exports and outflow of FDI, reduce in the inflow trade and investment, and apparently hinders the Chinese GPD growth and diminished its currency exchange rate. Purpose of the article: The aim is to predict the future development of the GDP of the China and the USA and to estimate their further development through the prism of mutual trade sanctions and COVID-19. Methods: The data collection demonstrates the course of a time series of a daily RMB exchange rate development from the beginning of 1992 to June 2020. Furthermore, it represents the time series of a quarterly development of the Chinese GDP for the same time period. Using neural networks, a regression for different variants of the time series delay in connection with the analysis of the USA sanctions is conducted. Findings & Value added: The GDP of both countries has developed over the last two years, as if sanctions had not been imposed. However, the situation is changing with COVID-19. In this case, it is clear that the impact will be more significant. US GDP will stagnate. PRC GDP will fall.
