This chapter aims to identify different factors of job satisfaction responsible for different types of commitment (i.e. affective, continuance, and normative commitment among the employees of IT organizations). The primary data was collected from 401 respondents of IT organizations using validated scales on organizational commitment and job satisfaction. The exploratory factor analysis was conducted to identify different factors of job satisfaction and scale reliability of organizational commitment scale. The reliability and validity of all the constructs were further done through confirmatory factor analysis. Then related hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling through AMOS 21.0. Three factors of job satisfaction were extracted, namely growth opportunities and management practices, working condition, and fair treatment. Growth opportunities and management practices are the prominent reasons for affective commitment, whereas fair treatment ensures continuance and normative commitment among the employees of IT organizations with the given sample.

Job satisfaction, leadership, meeting effectiveness, and organizational commitment have become the subjects of numerous research papers, due mainly to their vital roles in the development of organizations. We based our research on previous studies related to leadership, meeting effectiveness, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment and an empirical study. The authors emphasize the influence of leadership on meeting effectiveness and the impact of the mediating role of job satisfaction on the relationship between meeting effectiveness and organizational commitment, increasing more employees’ commitment to their organizations. Our research aims to show whether leadership has a positive effect on meeting effectiveness, how meeting effectiveness affects organizational commitment, and to what extent job satisfaction impacts this relationship. We used data collected in our analysis and created a questionnaire that was distributed to 249 respondents working at 34 Vietnamese organizations from a variety of sectors such as tax, banking, health service, airlines, education, and business. Using non-probability sampling with the calculation of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling, the authors found that leadership significantly affects meeting effectiveness, and meeting effectiveness positively influences organizational commitment with the mediation of job satisfaction.

Despite the rich literature on the antecedents of career success, the success criterion has generally been measured in a rather deficient manner. This study aims to operationalize and measure career success of rural to urban migrant laborers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam by developing an integrated index. The Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) with a combination of both reflective and formative constructs is applied. Employing the primary data of 419 migrant laborers in a survey conducted in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2015, the hierarchical model confirms the statistically significant contribution of objective and subjective components to the career success index. Compared to objective career success, subjective career success has a stronger effect on the index. Five dimensions of career success are distinguished including: 1) job satisfaction, 2) career satisfaction, 3) life satisfaction, 4) other-referent criteria and 5) promotion. The first four and the final one are categorized as subjective career success and objective career success respectively. Among the four dimensions of subjective success, job satisfaction, career satisfaction and life satisfaction share lesser weights than success using otherreferent criteria in the model. This finding implies that other-referent criteria play an important role when people evaluate their career success. The index shall provide a general picture of the career success of rural to urban migrant laborers in Ho Chi Minh City and give an empirical result for further micro-research on career success determination.

This study discussed employee turnover as one of the crucial problems faced by every organization. This study sought to analyze the determinants of turnover intention, such as job insecurity, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. The objects of this study were newcomer lecturers of private Islamic universities in East Java Province, Indonesia. To analyze the relationship among independent variables and dependent variable; this study employed a correlation path model. To build the structural formulation of the correlation path model, this study used the variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) as a Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis. The study found that job insecurity influenced job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Moreover, job satisfaction and organizational commitment had positive impacts on the turnover intention. In contrast, job insecurity did not have a direct significant impact on the turnover intention, but it had indirect effect that influences job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

Empowerment has never been something handed from one person to another or passed from employer to employee but it is a complex process, which needs a vivid vision and clear understanding for managers and employees. It is a technique and tool for the retention of employees. This quantitative study is done to examine the affect of organisational empowerment on turnover intensions by way of mediation of job satisfaction and affective commitment.Direct and indirect affects of variables are examined while conducting the study among employees of Hattar industries located in Punjab, Pakistan.Cross sectional design is addopted and primary data is collected through standardised questionnaires on five point likert scale. A total of 220 employees working at middle level management of Hattar industries, were chosen randomly. Correlation is applied in order to findout the strength of relationship between variables. The data was analysed on the basis of SEM (structural equation modeling) technique by using AMOS. Findings depicted the positive relationship between organizational empowerment with the variables job satisfaction and affective commitment. The result also indicates that there is a significant mediating influence of job satisfaction and affective commitment in the relationship between organizational empowerment and turnover intensions. Practical/managerial implications of this study revealed that organizations should foster to give empowerment to their workers if they want to retain them so that, they will be satisfied enough, will remain committed to work and will have lower intensions to leave the job that will better contribute in boosting up the overall performance of the organization.
