This research started our research methodology with pilot study because this type of the study is exploratory in nature and helps researchers to explore related indicators for the research constructs and improve adequacy of the research questionnaire for the empirical study. Perceptions extracted from the electrical organizations are valuable in validating the questionnaire according to the context of the Wenzhou electrical industry. They are DG, HG, JEA, ZG, ZE and QE, which are recommended by the WSMEA according to its reputation and achievements in the globalization, inter-organizational collaboration and e-business adoption. The face-to-face interviews with organizations' managers were conducted with the period of March 2010 to January 2011. The discussion will focus on three perspectives: challenges from the innovation inside the organizational capacities for collaboration, the drivers and barriers to trust in the industry, as well as from e-business diffusion.

This chapter discusses the results of a pilot study that explored the use of contests in translation pedagogy, proposing methods for designing classroom and extracurricular contests. Three translation contests (two in-class and one extracurricular) were conducted for undergraduate students at United Arab Emirates University. Student questionnaires were used to examine the potential role of contests in translator education and, in particular, the positive and negative effects of competition on students' motivation. The use of group work was also examined as a method of minimizing the potential negative effects of competition, as described in the literature. The study indicates that contests can be useful in stimulating student motivation, especially on the basic levels of education. On the other hand, it is suggested that, while group work is seen as effective and desirable by most students, there are caveats to be considered when planning and implementing this type of activity.

This chapter aims to analyze the “Chinese way” of citizenship education as a meeting place between the historical lessons of Confucianism, Marxist-Leninist socialist ideology, and newer concepts of global citizenship. Furthermore, this project seeks to understand how the model of education for “global” citizenship fits within the established system of ideological and moral education. To this end, research was carried out at three different levels. Firstly, a review of the most recent and “global” literature on education for citizenship was conducted. Secondly, public government documents were studied and compared, in particular, those from the Ministry of Education and the Association for Higher Education, which is supervised by the Chinese communist party and its General Secretary, President Xi Jinping. Thirdly, surveys were conducted to gauge the degree of involvement of students in their own citizenship education at high school and university level. Finally, a field study was conducted at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangdong province (Zhuhai campus).
