As the world's population ages, those suffering from diseases will increase. Researchers in electronics, computer, networking, and medical fields need to work more seriously to make the broad vision of smart healthcare/e-health system. To achieve the objectives of e-healthcare in smart cities, there is a need to create new system that allows the acquisition of health information smartly, automatically, and transparently in order to take efficient decisions provided by the supporting system. Such systems may be designed technically by embedded together communication, smart signals, internet of things, network of sensors.

Nowadays, communication engineering technology is merging with the Internet of Things (IoT), which consists of numerous connected devices (referred to as things) around the world. Many researchers have shown significant growth of sensor deployments for multiple smart engineering technologies, such as smart-healthcare, smart-industries, smart-cities, and smart-transportation, etc. In such intelligent engineering technologies, sensors continuously generate a bunch of messages in the network. To enhance the value of the data in the messages, we must know the actuality of the data embedded inside the messages. For this purpose, the contextual information of the data creates a vital challenge. Recently, context-aware computing has emerged to be fruitful in dealing with sensor information. In the ubiquitous computing domain, location is commonly considered one of the most essential sources of context. However, whenever users or applications are concerned with objects, and their site or spatial relationships, location models or spatial models are necessary to form a model of the environment. This paper investigates the area of context-aware messaging and addressing services in diverse IoT applications. The paper examines the notion of context and the use of context within the data exchanged by the sensors in an IoT application for messaging and addressing purposes. Based on the importance and need for context of the information, we identify three critical categories of new IoT applications for context-aware messaging and addressing services: emergency applications, applications for guiding and reminding, and social networking applications. For this purpose, a representative range of systems is reviewed according to the application type, the technology being used, their architecture, the context information, and the services they provide. This survey assists the work of defining an approach for context-aware messaging services domain by discovering the area of context-aware messaging.


Internet of Things (IoT) is efficiently plays vital role in development of several sectors by offering many opportunities to grow the economy and improve the life standard through connecting billions of “Things” which provides business opportunities in different sectors and encounter many technical and application challenges. This paper emphasizes the role of Dynamic bandwidth allocation and protocols standards in various IoT sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, industrial, transportation, smart cities etc., and focuses on the challenges in providing uninterrupted bandwidth to all IoT devices with existing infrastructure, which depends on standardized protocols and network devices to establish connection with heterogeneous IoT devices. This paper covers Enhanced Dynamic Bandwidth Techniques, protocol standards and policies in IoT network technologies to Improve QoS in IoT devices.

The paper considers the issues of creating smart cities from the point of view of sustainable development of subjects, the role of the internet of things for a modern understanding of the development of smart communities, when the Internet has become the main means of communication not only for people, but also for subjects. The world experience of creation of normative base by technical Committee ISO/TC268 Sustainable development of communities is analyzed. The role of the internet of things (STK 1/ WG 10) is noted as an important part of the identified problem and for a understanding of the development of smart communities, when the internet has become the main means of communication not only for people but also for subjects. Particular attention is paid to the state of affairs in the standardization of requirements for «subjects of sustainable development» in theRussian Federation. Proposals have been developed for work in the establishment of common rules, regulations for such an urgent and multifunctional object of standardization, as the subject of sustainable development or a smart city.


As electricity consumption is very high so using IOT ,reduction of electricity consumption is tried company nowadays but the use of it in extreme levels results as a damage to environment and personal financial conditions.Involving fields of application and Internet of things sensors are made. In this paper an architecture is introduced, that helps the smart cities to save resources for future. Consumption of electricity in a way is destroying the environment so this paper helps in saving the cost of electricity as well as saving the environment using wireless connections. Finally a new system is proposed keeping in mind the old one and its challenges. This system overcomes all the challenges and difficulties faced by the old one. To implement the framework electrical appliances such as lights, fans, ac etc are incorporated within the proposed system of reduction of electricity consumption


A Smart Cities focuses on the way we live. Smart governments are also acknowledged as augmentations of electronic governments based on the Internet of Things (IoT). There are many existing challenges in the environment such as, research in gadgets, framework and programming etc. Particularly, the Smart Cities are facing difficulties with IoT frameworks, systems administration, independent registration, wearable sensors, gadgets and systematization of aggregates including human beings as well as programming specialists. This paper incorporates role of Smart Cities in various domains such as smart infrastructure, smart building, smart security and so on. Moreover, the work depicts the IoT technologies for Smart Cities and the primary components along with the features of Smart Cities. This paper is based on technologies for Smart Cities which will benefit citizens by facilitating a platform for integrating all the resources and prompt communication of information. Furthermore, merits, demerits and main challenges of Smart Cities are discussed.

Because the Internet of Things (IoT) can provide a global service network through various smart devices, the IoT has been widely used in smart transportation, smart cities, smart healthcare, and factory automation through the Internet connection. With the large-scale establishment and 5G (fifth generation) wireless networks, the cellular Internet of Things (CIoT) will continue to be developed and applied to a wide range of applications. In order to provide a reliable application of CIoT, a safe and reliable network topology MECIoT is proposed in this study. To improve the reliability and fault-tolerant capability of the network proposed, the problem of reaching agreement should be revisited. Therefore, the applications in the system can still be performed correctly even if some processing units (PUs) in the system have failed. In this study, a new protocol is proposed to allow all normal PUs in MECIoT to reach an agreement with the minimum amount of data exchanges required and the maximum number of failed PUs allowed in MECIoT. In the end, the optimality of the protocol has been proven by mathematical method.

This paper presents and discusses the role of the Internet of Things (IoT) and crowdsourcing in constructing smart cities. The literature review shows an important and increasing concern of the scientific community for these three issues and their association as support for urban development. Based on an extensive literature review, the paper first presents the smart city concept, emphasizing smart city architecture and the role of data in smart city solutions. The second part presents the Internet of Things, focusing on IoT technology, the use of IoT in smart city applications, and security. Finally, the paper presents crowdsourcing with particular attention to mobile crowdsourcing and its role in smart cities. The paper shows that IoT and crowdsourcing have a crucial role in two fundamental layers of smart city applications, namely, the data collection and services layers. Since these two layers ensure the connection between the physical and digital worlds, they constitute the central pillars of smart city projects. The literature review also shows that the smart city development still requires stronger cooperation between the smart city technology-centered research, mainly based on the IoT, and the smart city citizens-centered research, mainly based on crowdsourcing. This cooperation could beneficiate in recent developments in the field of crowdsensing that combines IoT and crowdsourcing.

Fog computing extends the cloud computing paradigm to the edge of the network, thus enabling a new breed of applications and services. Defining characteristics of the Fog are 1) low latency and location awareness, 2) widespread geographical distribution, 3) mobility, 4) very large number of nodes, 5) predominant role of wireless access, 6) strong presence of streaming and real time applications, and 7) heterogeneity. In this chapter, the authors argue that the above characteristics make the Fog the appropriate platform for a number of critical internet of things (IoT) services and applications, namely connected vehicle, smart grid, smart cities, and in general, wireless sensors and actuators networks (WSANs).

The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) has brought about a myriad of applications to life which range from smart homes, smart energy, smart buildings, smart cities to almost smart everything. This has been made possible by fully exploiting the services of cloud infrastructure, communication technologies, improved sensing devices and advancements in embedded devices which helps in incorporating intelligence even on tiniest of chips. Blockchain is a decentralised distributed approach that can facilitate management, control and also provide security. The application of blockchain is not restricted to cryptocurrency and security. It is perceived that Blockchain in Convergence with Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Computing and Mobile Edge Computing can provide numerous prospects for framing solutions for IoT. Any application or system which deploys a IoT network can make use of Blockchain to achieve simplicity, transparency, security and cost efficiency. This paper tries to identify some key areas in which Blockchain can be used to exploit the IoT infrastructure and overcome the challenges faced. Few possible application domains in which blockchain can revolutionize the outcomes have been highlighted. A real-time case study in which Blockchain has been used to provide valuable benefits is discussed.
