In this work, automatic segmentation is done using different original representations of music, corresponding to rhythm, chroma and timbre, and by calculating a shortest path through the selfsimilarity calculated from each time/feature representation. By varying the cost of inserting new segments, shorter segments, corresponding to grouping, or longer, corresponding to form, can be recognized. Each segmentation scale quality is analyzed through the use of the mean silhouette value. This permits automatic segmentation on different time scales and it gives indication on the inherent segment sizes in the music analyzed. Different methods are employed to verify the quality of the inherent segment sizes, by comparing them to the literature (grouping, chunks), by comparing them among themselves, and by measuring the strength of the inherent segment sizes.

Objective: Our objectives were to evaluate the efficiency of transurethral bipolar plasma vaporisation of the prostate (BPVP) using the button electrode and compare it to green laser vaporisation of the prostate (GLVP). Patients and methods: During the period March 2012 to January 2017, 155 patients with benign prostatic obstruction (BPO) were enrolled in our study. Overall, 80 patients underwent BPVP and 75 GLVP. All International Prostate Symptom Scores (IPSS), quality of life (QOL), uroflow Qmax, Qave and post-void residual (PVR) urine samples were evaluated 24 hours preoperatively and at three months postoperatively. Operative time, hospital stay, catheterisation time, and complications were reported. Mean serum haemoglobin, haematocrit and serum sodium changes were reported preoperatively and within 24 hours postoperatively in both groups. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS program version 20 for Windows. Results: Mean age at surgery was 62.8 ± 4 (53–82) years and 63 ± 6.6 (54–86) years for the BPVP and GLVP groups respectively. Mean prostatic volume was 45 ± 10 (36–90) and 43 ± 9 (32–85) in each group, respectively. Patients from both series had similar preoperative characteristics. The mean operative duration was 58 ± 21 (range: 20–70) minutes and 57 ± 13 (range: 24–75) minutes, hospital stay was 12.2 ± 6.4 (12–60) hours vs 7 ± 3.3 (6–48) hours ( p = 0.01), and catheterisation period was 48 ± 1.28 (24–72) hours vs 6 ± 6.2 (6–7) hours ( p = 0.001). Conclusions: Both BPVP and GLVP offer good options for management of BPO with less bleeding, one-day surgery, less catheterisation time with significant improvement of IPSS, QOL score and uroflow postoperatively. However, more studies comparing the cost of both techniques are needed for a solid conclusion. Level of evidence: Not applicable for this multicentre audit.

AbstractObjectives:The purpose of the present study has been to assess the societal cost of major depression and the distribution into different cost components. The impact of adherence and treatment response was also explored.Method:Data were collected from a randomized controlled trial of patients with major depressive disorder who were treated in a naturalistic primary care setting. Resource use and quality of life were followed during the two-year trial. Results:The mean total cost per patient during two years was KSEK 363 (EUR 38 953). Indirect costs were the most important component (87%), whereas the cost of drugs was minor (4.5%). No significant differences in costs or quality of life between treatment arms or between adherent and non-adherent patients were demonstrated. However, treatment responders had 39% lower total costs per patient and experienced a larger increase in quality of life compared to non-responders.Conclusions:Major depression has high costs for society, primarily due to indirect costs. Treatment responders have considerably lower costs per patient and higher quality of life than non-responders. This indicates that measures to increase response rates are also important from an economic perspective.

Thirty consecutive patients with amputation or devascularizing injuries of the thumb or two or more fingers proximal to the PIP joint were reviewed. Replantation or revascularization had been done in 27 patients, in 24 successfully. Three patients had primary amputation. The distribution of calculable costs was dominated by those for sick leave (49%), operation (26%) and ward costs (20%). Out-patient care, physiotherapy and travel together constituted only 6%. The cost of a successful replantation was equal to 1.6 times the mean annual salary of these patients and that of primary amputation about half as much. Mobility, power and performance of a standardized grip test were better for the successfully replanted or revascularized patients. Subjective evaluation of 23 parameters of function, cosmesis and quality of life did not disclose any differences. All patients except three had returned to their original work within 2 years.

The goal of this study is to assess the blasting quality of an opencast mine based on fragmentation analysis. Fragmentation of an opencast mine is one of the critical results of the blasting which is treated as the first quality demand in most types of blasting which affects all the downstream processes of mine to mill production like loading, hauling, crushing, and milling efficiency and also the cost involved in thesse processes. In this study, the fragmentation analysis of a chromite mine of Boula-Nuasahi Complex belt was conducted using WipFrag fragmentation analysis programming. Eight snap shots of blasted muck pile of the stated mine were investigated utilizing WipFrag photograph evaluation software. Both single and blended picture examination were done and the blended picture investigation was utilized to assess the top-quality fragmentation of blasting. The mean fragmentation of the impacted shake muckpile was anticipated from the investigation. Finding: Blasted muck pile contained the most proportion of fragments in the dimension vary 10mm to 100mm with a share of 47.37 and coefficient of curvature less than 1indicating blasted muckpile distribution is not very well graded. This study revealed the poor blasting quality of said mine which can be improved by observing and working on weak parts of blasting operation.

Semen was collected from four rams, using artificial vagina and viability%, motility% and plasma membrane integrity% were measured. Fresh ejaculates (n = 32) were separated by modified swim-up separation using modified human tubal fluid medium. Four fractions of supernatant were collected at 15-minute intervals. The mean volume, mass activity, concentration, motility%, viability%, normal morphology and membrane integrity% (HOST +ve) of fresh semen were 1.0 ± 0.14, 4.1 ± 0.1 × 109 spermatozoa/ml, 85.0 ± 1.3, 89.4 ± 1.0, 85.5 ± 0.7, 84.7 ± 0.5 respectively. There was no significant (P>0.05) difference in fresh semen quality parameters between rams. The motility%, viability% and HOST +ve % of first, second, third and fourth fractions were 53.4 ± 0.5, 68.2 ± 0.3, 74.8 ± 0.3 and 65.5 ± 0.4; 55.5 ± 0.4, 66.2 ± 0.4, 74.5 ± 0.3 and 73.6 ± 0.3 and 66.7 ± 0.5, 66.8 ± 0.5, 65.2 ± 0.4 and 74.7 ± 0.5 respectively. The motility%, viability% and membrane integrity% of separated semen samples differed significantly (P<0.05) between four fractions. The mean motility% and viability% were significantly higher (P<0.05) in third fraction (74.8 ± 0.3%), whereas the mean HOST +ve% was significantly higher (P<0.05) in fourth fraction (74.7 ± 0.5). All quality parameters of separated spermatozoa were significantly (P<0.05) lower than that of fresh semen. The pregnancy rates were higher with fresh semen (71%) in comparison to that of separated sample (57%).Bangl. vet. 2016. Vol. 33, No. 2, 62-70

This part describes the agent-based and computational model for Agent_Zero and demonstrates its capacity for generative minimalism. It first explains the replicability of the model before offering an interpretation of the model by imagining a guerilla war like Vietnam, Afghanistan, or Iraq, where events transpire on a 2-D population of contiguous yellow patches. Each patch is occupied by a single stationary indigenous agent, which has two possible states: inactive and active. The discussion then turns to Agent_Zero's affective component and an elementary type of bounded rationality, as well as its social component, with particular emphasis on disposition, action, and pseudocode. Computational parables are then presented, including a parable relating to the slaughter of innocents through dispositional contagion. This part also shows how the model can capture three spatially explicit examples in which affect and probability change on different time scales.

Modelling study of the equilibrium profiles formed on sandy coasts of different bed slopes and grain sizes under the various wave conditions was realized by using the CROSS-P and Xbeach morphodynamic models. A special criterion taking into account a total volume of bed deformations per one hour was suggested to determine the conditions of profile stabilization. For both models the time scales of equilibrium profile formation were found to be the same. However, the deformation magnitudes differed significantly. Bed deformations were computed on the whole profile length over the 200-hours duration of wave impact. It was concluded that both models predict a trend of the bed slope toward a stable value. CROSS-P model shows the widening of accumulative terrace during the profile evolution. The mean slope of the equilibrium profile was found to depend on the initial bed slope.
