The Role of Digital Economies in the Development and Growth in Asian Business Models

This chapter discusses the development of information and communication technology across Asian economies. Digital technology is the presentation of information in bits that emphasize digital technology which covers all business, financial, social, and cultural events that are supported by the web and other digital communication technologies. Technology has minimized the cost of storage, and flow of information. In the last 15 years, digital technology has affected human lives and the chapter examines how digital technology changes economic activity. There are three principal segments: e-business, e-business framework, and e-commerce. The digital economy is known as the web economy because of its dependence on the network. Modern technologies, cloud computing, mobile app, and social media influence the business landscape, reshaping the idea of work, boundaries of enterprises, and the obligations of business pioneers. Thus, the digital economy features the opportunity for organizations and people to execute existing tasks on the PC more frequently than before.

Smart city is a brand-new city form, in which information and communication technologies are utilized to sense, analyze, and integrate the key information of city operation core system, so that intelligent responses can be immediately and effectively taken to various demands including people’s livelihood, environmental protection, public safety, city services, and industrial and commercial activities. Digital economy is a mixed economy with the coexistence of multiple business models and diversified value creation models based on the information and communication technologies and in the digital economy, many things are undergoing huge changes, and their corresponding economic rules also need to be adjusted. On the basis of analyzing previous research works, this paper expounded the research status and significance of smart city’s resource scheduling and strategic management, elaborated the development background, current status, and future challenges of digital economy, introduced the methods and principles of city-level spatiotemporal data model and spatial full factor coding, formulated resource scheduling strategies for smart city based on digital economy, explored the dynamic fusion, storage, and update of smart city’s multisource heterogeneous data, conducted the information display and analysis of multilevel smart city, proposed strategic management approaches for smart city based on digital economy, analyzed the integrated implementation model of shared resource scheduling and people-oriented social management, and discussed the economic growth factors and standardization mechanism of smart city under the background of digital economy. The results of this study provide a reference for further research studies on the resource scheduling and strategic management of smart city under the background of digital economy.

The priority vector of development of many countries of the world is digital transformation and creation of a hypercompetitive digital economy. The key trend of modern global economic development in all countries of the world is the rapid spread of information and communication, digital technologies and the development of the digital economy, which causes changes in the business environment, transaction methods and the level of connections between individual entities. The digital economy is an innovative dynamic economy based on the active introduction of innovations and information and communication technologies in all types of economic activities and spheres of society, which increases the efficiency and competitiveness of individual companies, the national economy and living standards. In the third wave of globalization, the digital economy plays an important role in the development of countries, the most important factor of which is information and knowledge, as well as ways to access them. Increasingly, the digital economy is intertwined with the traditional economy, making clear demarcations increasingly difficult. The main products of the digital economy are the same goods and services of the traditional economy provided by computer equipment and digital systems such as the global Internet. However, the rapid development of digitalization is becoming a source not only of new opportunities, but also of serious threats and problems for all segments of the population that need to be taken into account. That is, the digitalization of the economy and all spheres of public life, on the one hand, becomes a challenge and threat to established business models and successful strategies of behavior of enterprises in a market economy, on the other - opens new opportunities for improvement and competitive advantage. Digitalization has significant benefits for economic development. Benefits at the level of the whole society include: economic and social effect of digital technologies for business and society; improving the quality of life; increasing the productivity of all social labor; the emergence of new models and forms of business that can increase profitability and competitiveness; increasing the transparency of economic transactions and ensuring the possibility of their monitoring. Thus, the digital globalization opens the horizon of technological development and accelerates the growth of the use of modern techniques through the innovation of the digital economy in our daily lives. In addition, the modernization of companies in the field of E-marketing and E-commerce has a direct impact on the strategic relationship between internet users, information, technology and business. In this sense, my theoretical study determines methods and mechanisms of promotion through E-commerce and E-marketing during the revolution of the digital economy and the technologies of modern and social communication.

The pandemic has become the reason for structural reforms as well as for discussing many issues by the expert community. In this regard, the Gaidar Forum – 2021 became the very platform where experts in various fields of knowledge could meet. Specialists discussed such issues as sustainable development problems, the innovative focus of development, the introduction of IT technologies, restructuring of national economies, new business models, etc. Most of the questions, one way or another, concern the problem of the evolution of the living environment. These are the questions that were presented by the experts of the “Building together” discussion platform. Analyzing the results of the construction complex, which ensures the implementation of the national project “Housing and the Urban Environment”, made it possible to identify the nature of further measures taken by the Government of the Russian Federation in order to create a competitive living environment. Experts systematized the prospects for business models of investment and construction activities involved in the development of territories, identified new tools for enhancing investment activity, and focused the attention of the authorities on information and communication technologies used in modeling the living environment.

This article presents an analysis of the presence in, and use of, the web by some forms of digital citizenry in a city of southern Italy: Catania. Its primary aim is to analyze how, also in a weak civil society, information and communication technologies (ICTs) create new opportunities for extending public sphere and for learning new modes of participatory local action for sustainable urban development. The local experiences presented in this research indicate that ICTs can facilitate a redistribution of local social powers, offering infrastructures and tools useful for implementing a continuous process of social interaction, exchange of knowledge and the development of practices, influencing policy processes and planning models.

This paper makes a foray into the new innovative business technologies by presenting several important aspects of the Digital Economy, Business models, Entrepreneurship, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), ICT4D, Innovation Technology. The second part of the paper consists of an analysis of new innovative technologies results in business, using Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), thus presenting the conceptual framework GEM, How GEM Defines Entrepreneurship, Measures of Entrepreneurial Activity, Entrepreneurial Aspirations, Entrepreneurial Attitudes. Based on this analysis, empirical results of new innovative business technologies in Romania are configured, highlighting the key indicators for Romania (2015), Entrepreneurial Activity rates in efficiency-driven EU Countries in 2014 (% of population aged between 18-64 years), distribution of entrepreneurs by gender, age, education and household income in Romania 2014 (%), both individually and overall. The paper concludes with key findings and proposals for the following questions to be explored in future research.
