Learning Organisation

In an ever-changing business world, the need to gain a competitive advantage has become extremely imperative for enterprises to survive in the age of globalisation. Much emphasis on learning has arisen due to rapid changes in the business environment, including uncertain market conditions, increasing complexity, changing demographics, and global competition. The companies are forced to innovate and develop new techniques for improving the quality and functionality of products, reduce costs, and respond to the highly elegant customers' demands in order to survive in the market. Learning organisations encourage the groups to come together and explore new ideas without being directed by a manager. The main objective of the chapter is to measure the effect of the dimensions of the learning organisation on organisational performance. A positive statistical relationship exists among the learning organisation dimensions and with organisational performance. Organisations must consider the learning organisation dimensions to enhance employees efficiency and organisational performance.

Today, knowledge management is used as part of a business strategy by which an organisation adapts to rapid changes in society and the business world, by which it not only becomes more competitive but also achieves goals and remains successful. Organisations have become aware of the importance of the lifelong learning concept. It should be noted that knowledge management is in close synergy with human resource management in the organisation. To achieve the scientific value of the paper, the authors have conducted empirical research by using a survey questionnaire in which the elements of a learning organisation were investigated, along with the implementation of knowledge on the selected organisational model. The synthesis of the results and conclusions of this research will be used to formulate specific critical recommendations and valuable guidelines indicating possible areas of improving the level of learning organisation and motivation to learn, which indicates potential ways and approaches to knowledge management.


With the current business environment and rapid changes in technology, the amount of data produced is increasing as each day passes. This huge collection of data is what can make or break such institutions, so it is vital for such a sector to efficiently utilize the data generated. Effective tools and analyses are required to make sure that this data is comprehended and organized in such a manner that it can be used for the tasks at hand. The challenge faced here is knowing how to extract and use the data to the benefit of the business world. The objective of understanding the underlying emotion displayed in each opinion that is voiced out is a huge exercise. Through this paper an attempt has been made to understand how the gap between consumers and providers can be bridged by analyzing secondary data through Sentiment Analysis tool. This research proposes a framework CSA (Continuous Sentiment Analysis) to repeatedly analyze the sentiments from customers highlighting the purpose of one such attempt to capture the tone of the message. This method of “Sentiment Analysis”- a fairly new field uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) in order to give meaning to the abundant data available at hand.

Accounting research has a speculative and normative tradition. Starting at the beginning of the 1970s, empirical methodologies gained prominence and the boundaries of accounting disciplines have become uncertain. Quantitative and qualitative methods tend to overwhelm the accounting and business objects; often they are only suitable to deal with past and narrow phenomena. Empirical methodologies need reference theories, coming from other disciplines and particularly economics and sociology. In this context, it is questioned if accounting research does exist anymore and if it is relevant to the business world. Some scholars have begun to wonder whether it would be appropriate to revalue normative approaches in order to conduct a type of research which is useful to the society and allows the preservation of specific accounting knowledge. A necessity emerges to come back to the prominence of business and accounting issues over methodologies and sociological theories. Research should be directed to tackle wide and current phenomena, not just the narrow and past ones. Speculative thinking has to be reassessed and empirical findings should be used to strengthen it as starting premises. Explaining phenomena is not enough; empirical research has to go beyond its findings; the emphasis should be shifted to the drawing of policy recommendations.

Management accountants, in the conventional and contemporary age, have contributed to the development of organisations with regards organisational performance and success which has proven to be latent in Nigeria. The differences in development of organisational performance are dependent of the factors which have influenced both facets of roles of management accountants in Nigeria. This study compares the conventional and contemporary roles of management accountants and their contribution towards enhanced organisational performance and success in Nigeria. Secondary sources were analysed and information was gathered in the bid to produce literature on the issue of concern. The study shows that even with its current situation, management accountants, to varying extents, contribute to organisational performance and success. The study serves as a steer to academicians, potential employees, practicing management accountants and students in ensuring that these roles move with changes in the business environment for the sake of organisational performance and success.

In the present competitive business environment, designers and engineers need to come up with creative, innovative and valuable design ideas. In engineering design, the function (F), behavior (B) and structure (S) of a product are discussed using design theory and methodology. On the other hand, the concept of user experience (UX) is becoming important in product design. In this paper, we first discuss the relationship among F, B, S, UX and the value of a product. Then we propose a delta design map as a framework for a systematic method and computational tool for design ideation support. A delta design map does not describe F, B, S and UX for design examples but describes their differences (delta) between design examples. This approach makes the descriptions efficient and gives clear criteria on what needs to be described and what need not be described. By preparing a delta design map, we can systematically and exhaustively analyze the potential similarity among all design examples from the viewpoint of F, B, S and UX and obtain triggers for ideation. The results of a simple trial of the proposed method are presented and discussed in this paper.

Open innovation is an approach that involves not only internal company, but also external parties in developing and integrating new ideas optimally for the benefit of the company. This approach is more applied by companies in innovating to cope with the business world whom very competitive. However, research through this approach is still minimal and the concept has not been fully adopted in Indonesia. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to know how the influence of open innovation approach and the factors supporting the development of innovation on innovation performance in Indonesian companies. The scope of this research is Indonesian companies engaged in all industrial sectors (both manufacturing and service sectors), which conducts innovation activities for the last 3 years, from 2011 to 2013. The research method is quantitative with statistical data analysis descriptive and inferential ie regression analysis. The result of the research shows that the open innovation approach model has a significant influence on the innovation performance of the company, but only two of the three variables approach are inter-organizational collaboration and technology acquisition which has significant influence. For both factors supporting the development of innovation ie the source of information (both internal and external) and internal R D, factors that have a significant influence on innovation performance of the company only internal R D alone.

Rapid-acting interventions for the suicide crisis have the potential to transform treatment. In addition, recent innovations in suicide research methods may similarly expand our understanding of the psychological and neurobiological correlates of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. This review discusses the limitations and challenges associated with current methods of suicide risk assessment and presents new techniques currently being developed to measure rapid changes in suicidal thoughts and behavior. These novel assessment strategies include ecological momentary assessment, digital phenotyping, cognitive and implicit bias metrics, and neuroimaging paradigms and analysis methodologies to identify neural circuits associated with suicide risk. This review is intended to both describe the current state of our ability to assess rapid changes in suicide risk as well as to explore future directions for clinical, neurobiological, and computational markers research in suicide-focused clinical trials.

By accessing the website page of PT. Daya Berkah Sentosa Nusantara buyers do not have to come directly to the place or company, and send offers according to admin needs.The purpose of this study is to make it easier for researchers to solve supply and sales problems based on problems that arise in the company. The method used in this study is the Waterfall Method, with data collection techniques used using observation, interviews and literature study. The desired result of this research is to be able to create a website for the company, to be able to expand marketing reach, buyers can view products through the website.

This qualitative study examines a ministry internship program at a rural regional university in Missouri. The study sought to determine the impact of the internship on both interns in the program and on congregants in churches served by the program. Guided by the lens of self-efficacy as identified originally by Bandura (1977), the researcher conducted interviews, focus groups, and examined archival data to ascertain impact. Completed research helped identify eight areas of impact. The internship allowed for support and transformation of both interns and congregants throughout its duration. Interns were able to gain a realistic understanding of the ministry field. Interns were able to reflect on their practice through differential outcomes. Interns were able to ascertain a potential calling to vocational ministry. Congregants reported an influx of new ideas into their churches. Rural churches were able to stay open. Many interns went on to become young vocational ministers within the United Methodist Church. Both congregants and interns reported the internship allowed them to come closer to God.

Abstract The need for adaptation to rapid changes in the business environment, both on the part of employees and employers, implies dealing with new challenges, acquisition of new knowledge and skills and assumption of new roles and responsibilities. The base for companies is the availability of qualified human resources, which is ensured by the human resource management department mainly through an effective process of employee selection. The paper is oriented at the analysis of the current state of focus of organizations operating in Slovakia on systematicity and complexity of the selection process, the existence of an effective internal labor market and the regularity of development of used selection tools in the context of technological progress and changes in labor market requirements in regions of Slovakia. Results of the survey on (n = 343) enterprises show a positive trend, an increase of more than 10 percent in the orientation towards improvement of the process of employee selection, but on the other side it also confirm an increase in disparities between individual regions of Slovakia, some regions (Eastern Slovakia) progress much slower than the developed ones (Bratislava).
