The Azores are an increasingly attractive tourist destination. The excellence of endogenous resources has allowed it to consolidate its position as nature and adventure destination. Consequently, the regional strategy seeks to base this sector's growth on the principles of sustainable development. The potential granted by the new technologies is combined in an excellent opportunity to pursue this objective and convert the Azores into a smart tourist destination. Thus, according to this vision, a conversion plan was elaborated that can guide the performance of the destination management bodies and other stakeholders. In methodological terms, different techniques were applied, including the identification of good local practices and case studies for benchmarking, a self-diagnosis, interviews with stakeholders, and a SWOT analysis. The plan was concluded with the definition of measures, actions, and pilot projects to be implemented in the region following a structure based on the smart destinations development axes proposed in 2015 by Segittur.

While writing the article we used the following: methods of content analysis – to study scientific approaches to the interpretation of marketing tasks in terms of the concept of «sustainable development»; morphological analysis, generalization and scientific abstraction – to clarify the essence of the definition of «marketing of balanced development» and its conceptual content; economic-statistical and comparative analysis – for research, the dynamics of the food market and the market of organic products in Ukraine, the structure of exports of agricultural products to Ukraine, as well as the impact of the agro-industrial sector on the environment. To visualize the results, we used methods of graphical and tabular representation. The method of SWOT analysis assessed the qualitative characteristics of the state of the market of organic products of Ukraine in the light of opportunities and obstacles to the implementation of the concept of «sustainable development». Abstract-logical method was used to form a complex of marketing of balanced development, conclusions of the article and directions for further research. Results. The article is devoted to the study of the dynamics of the Ukraine food market development as a component of the national economy and food security of the state. It was determined that the areas of agro-food production, food processing and food products trade were showing growth due to increased demand in domestic and foreign markets. However, as a result of technological and resource features, agro-food production has a negative impact on the environment of Ukraine. Trends in the development of organic production as a way to implement the concept of sustainable development in the food sector were studied. The author’s interpretation of the essence of the concept of balanced market development was offered and the complex of tasks of marketing for the enterprises functioning in the food market was defined. Originality / scientific novelty. The article defines the magnitude and extent of the impact of agro-food production on the environment. The essential content of the definition of «marketing of balanced development» in relation to the agro-industrial sector through the prism of the concept of «sustainable development» was clarified. For the first time, a SWOT analysis was used to assess the state of the market of organic products of Ukraine in the light of opportunities and obstacles to the implementation of the concept of «sustainable development», which allowed determining the main directions for improving the marketing set for food market entities. The article deals with a quantifiable approach which leads to the definition of a strategy for promoting sustainable development through the exploitation of mineral resources in Slovakia. It points to a clear identification of a potential strategy by using SWOT analysis, which integrates the interaction of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the exploitation of mineral resources, which forms the basal platform for the functioning of sustainable development of the Slovak Republic. The paper presents the implementation of the principles of Saaty’s matrix in the quantification of the factors weights of individual areas of SWOT analysis with the aim of their objectification. It describes in detail the quantification of predefined weights of the mentioned analysis, which leads to the definition of the strategy of promoting sustainable development of the Slovak Republic through the exploitation of mineral resources. In conclusion, it presents a graphical representation of the SWOT analysis with an emphasis on supporting the mitigation of developmental interregional disparities in Slovakia.

Sustainable development works within the ecosystems of the planet to conserve and replenish renewable clean energy sources. The most widely used definition of sustainable development was written by Norway's Prime Minister in her 1987 Brundtland Report to the United Nations: it must meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The United Nations has adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals, to be achieved by 2030; they include the eradication of poverty and hunger, provision of clean water and sanitation for all, achievement of gender equality, elimination of health disparities, access to quality education, promotion of economic prosperity, use of affordable clean energy sources, and good health and well-being for all. Proper disposal of hazardous waste and effective disaster risk management help to facilitate these goals. This chapter will discuss several new technologies employed in sustainable development.

The aim of this track was to question the divide between the nature of knowledge understood as experiential in indigenous contexts and science as an objective transferable knowledge. However, these can co-exist and inform design practices within transforming social contexts. The track aimed to challenge the hegemony of dominant knowledge systems, and demonstrate co-existence. The track also hoped to make a case for other systems of knowledges and ways of knowing through examples from native communities. The track was particularly interested in, first, how innovators use indigenous and cultural systems and frameworks to manage or promote innovation and second, the role of local knowledge and culture in transforming innovation as well as the form of local practices inspired innovation. The contributions also aspired to challenge through examples, case studies, theoretical frameworks and methodologies the hegemony of dominant knowledge systems, the divides of ‘academic’ vs ‘non-academic’ and ‘traditional’ vs ‘non-traditional’.

Abstract The acquisition of reliable Acoustic Micro Images (AMI) are an essential non-destructive step in the Failure Analysis (FA) of electronic packages. Advanced packaging and new IC materials present challenges to the collection of reliable AMI signals. The AMI is complicated due to new technologies that utilize an increasing number of interfaces in ICs and packages. We present two case studies in which it is necessary to decipher the acoustic echoes from the signals generated by the interface of interest in order to acquire trustworthy information about the IC package.
