Intelligent transport systems (ITSs) play a key role in people's daily activities. ITSs significantly improve mobility offering a variety of services to a vast number of users that increase on a daily basis, as more and new services are introduced. These services are based on advanced information and communication technologies (ICTs) and rely strongly on connectivity and computing resources. However, technical vulnerabilities of the technologies used in ITS, as well as the increase in users' awareness has brought security and privacy concerns to the forefront. This article aims at identifying a set of privacy concepts that provide the bases for designing trustworthy ITS services identifying possible threats and users' privacy concerns. A key contribution of the article is a roadmap that presents in detail how for every ITS function corresponding to privacy concepts can be realized for overcoming specific threats and users' privacy concerns in a smart city context.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) refers to transportation systems which apply emerging hard and soft information systems technologies to enhance the overall performance of transport system, presenting a paradigm shift in transportation. Electronic commerce (e-commerce) with its ability to conduct business transactions through open networks and deliver products and services in a global market in which geographical boundaries and location lose their meaning, is creating a paradigm shift in commerce. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) is the unifying element in ITS and e-commerce. This chapter analyses the significance of ITS as an enabler to effective e-commerce by supporting logistics and improving supply chain management.

In Bangladesh, transport sectors are developing rapidly to meet the increasing demand for transporting passengers and freight inside and outside the country. But there is not such development in railway transport system. The Bangladesh Railway transport system is still using an old technology to monitor and control signalling, scheduling, operations etc. This paper describes various problems in the existing systems and also solutions have been provided considering the existing railway transport systems of Bangladesh. A new system has been developed to control and monitor the total railway transport system from remote locations. While designing the system, various sensors and actuators have been introduced and also Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been applied in the field of railway transport. So a Machatronics aspect of system has been designed to ensure a collision free, safe and efficient operation and management of railway transport system. This system is not only for monitoring and controlling of railway transport but also ensures efficient asset management. As a result face-to-face accidents, cross-road accidents and accidents due to railway line displacements or breakage can be avoided and there will be no loss of assets and valuable human lives.

The insufficient preparation for the information and communication technologies revolution led to few offering online transaction platforms, information security features, and credit facilities. One of the security concerns is a lack of data validation. Data that is not validated or not properly validated is the main issue for serious security vulnerabilities affecting online banking applications. In this chapter, the influences of security issues on world banks will be discussed. A number of data validation methods will be also reviewed to date to provide a systematic summary to banking environment. Based on the advantages and disadvantages of each method, the IT developer will decide which is best suited to develop the systematic online banking application. From this analysis, a global view of the current and future tendencies of data validation will be obtained and therefore provision of possible recommendations for solving the security and privacy issues for the online banking services.

Over the past decade, wireless communication technologies have developed significantly for intelligent applications in road transport. This paper provides an overview of telecommunications-based intelligent transport systems with a focus on ensuring system safety and resilience. In vehicle-to-everything, these problems are extremely acute due to the specifics of the operation of transport networks, which requires the use of special protection mechanisms. In this regard, it was decided to use blockchain as a system platform to support the needs of transport systems for secure information exchange. This paper describes the technological aspects of implementing blockchain technology in vehicle-to-network; the features of such technology are presented, as well as the features of their interaction. The authors considered various network characteristics and identified the parameters that have a primary impact on the operation of the vehicle-to-network (V2N) network when implementing the blockchain. In the paper, an experiment was carried out that showed the numerical characteristics for the allocation of resources on devices involved in organizing V2N communication and conclusions were drawn from the results of the study.

Information-Communication Technologies (ICTs) are currently used in various fields and there are many amazing inventions that are already present and make communication and life easier for us on a daily basis. The use of ICTs is less represented in the social work institutions. Therefore, this paper presents the implementation of ICTs through the chatbot application for the needs of social work created on the Tidio platform and within the webpage of the Public Institution “Center for Social Work Tešanj”. The application facilitates the work of social workers in collecting information from the users and eases the aid received by the users of social care in terms of faster responses to inquiries during emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, but also after. For the purpose of this research, an end-user survey was created and conducted with the aim of collecting user opinions on the acceptance and motivation for the use of chatbots in social work institutions. The results showed good acceptance and usage motivation of social work chatbot.

The history of modern standards development provides support for the argument that the process of standardization has evolved in response to crises and opportunities. In the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector, many new groups have become involved in standards setting. In a period of rapid change, standards development in these areas has focused primarily on the provision of functionality. That is, there are few overarching roadmaps for development and issues such as security and interoperability are of less concern for many of the new standards developers. In addition, new oversight structures have emerged that appear to be more responsive to the particular needs of developers in the ICT arena. It may be important for nation states to consider assisting in roadmap development in the ICT arena to insure security and privacy issues are addressed such that these increasingly essential systems are less vulnerable.

BACKGROUND Use of novel information and communication technologies are frequently discussed as promising tools to prevent and treat overweight and obesity in children and adolescents. OBJECTIVE This survey aims to describe the preferences, motives, and needs of children and adolescents regarding nutrition and digital games. METHODS We conducted a survey in 6 secondary schools in the southern region of Germany using a 43-item questionnaire. Questions referred to preferences, motives, and needs of children and adolescents regarding nutrition and digital games. In addition, knowledge regarding nutrition was assessed with 4 questions. We collected self-reported sociodemographic and anthropometric data. Descriptive statistical analyses were performed using SPSS. RESULTS In total, 293 children and adolescents participated in the study, with ages 12-18 years (137 girls, 46.8%), weight 30.0-120.0 (mean 60.2 [SD 13.2]) kg, and height 1.4-2.0 (mean 1.7 [SD 0.1]) m. A total of 5.5% (16/290) correctly answered the 4 questions regarding nutrition knowledge. Study participants acquired digital nutritional information primarily from the internet (166/291, 57.0%) and television (97/291, 33.3%), while school education (161/291, 55.3%) and parents or other adults (209/291, 71.8%) were the most relevant nondigital information sources. Most participants (242/283, 85.5%) reported that they regularly play digital games. More than half (144/236, 61.0%) stated that they play digital games on a daily basis on their smartphones or tablets, and almost 70% (151/282, 66.5%) reported playing digital games for ≤30 minutes without any interruption. One-half of respondents (144/280, 51.4%) also stated that they were interested in receiving information about nutrition while playing digital games. CONCLUSIONS This survey suggests that nutrition knowledge in children and adolescents might be deficient. Most children and adolescents play digital games and express interest in acquiring nutritional information during digital gameplay. A digital game with a focus on sound nutrition could be a potential educational tool for imparting nutrition knowledge and promoting healthier nutrition behaviors in children and adolescents.
