KIET Framework for Cloud Adoption

The expenses in the sustenance of IT investments has become a major ledger item in businesses to the extent that in some cases business priorities had to be changed for sustaining IT systems. Cloud computing, a disruptive technology, is changing the sustenance model with on-demand and metered service approach. However, the adoption of this technology has not been consistent across sectors due to fear on loss of control and changes required in application development and deployment. Authors propose KIET (Knowing, Initiating, Evolving and Transforming) framework based on diffusion theory for adoption of cloud computing in organizations that have strong regulatory framework. Authors implemented the proposed framework on the Indian Banking sector, with majority of the banks being in the public sector. After the implementation of the framework, 49.4% of the banks have adopted cloud computing and another 27.8% of the banks have started the initial steps for adoption.

Cloud Computing is an increasingly important worldwide development in business service provision. The business benefits of Cloud Computing usage include reduced IT overhead costs, greater flexibility of services, reduced TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), on-demand services, and improved productivity. As a result, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly adopting Cloud Computing technology because of these perceived benefits. The most economical deployment model in Cloud Computing is called the Public Cloud, which is especially suitable for SMEs because it provides almost immediate access to hardware resources and reduces their need to purchase an array of advanced hardware and software applications. The changes experienced in Cloud Computing adoption over the past decade are unprecedented and have raised important issues with regard to privacy, security, trust, and reliability. This chapter presents a conceptual model for Cloud Computing adoption by SMEs in Australia.

In the modern era, technologies are being used by everyone.” Cloud” refers to a collaborative expression for boundless advancements and progression. Cloud computing is a disruptive technology for providing on-demand access to data and applications from anywhere at any time in the world. Cloud computing incorporates various available innovations and technologies like virtualization, bandwidth networks, Web 2.0, browser interfaces, and time-sharing. Cloud computing enables us to share the resources like storage, applications, services, and networks without physically obtaining them. The data is stored in the databases on the servers and users/clients need to request access by sending the request to these servers. This paper includes the various details of cloud technology, its characteristics, its models alongside the challenges and problems faced in cloud computing. Here the focus is on the theoretical explanation of the cloud, models of the cloud, and the problems in the security and confrontation faced during the exertion of the cloud technology.

The adoption of cloud computing for engineering and scientific applications is still lagging behind, although many cloud providers today offer powerful computing infrastructure as a service, and enterprises are already making routine use of it. Reasons for this slow adoption are many: complex access to clouds, inflexible software licensing, time-consuming big data transfer, loss of control over their assets, service provider lock-in, to name a few. But recently, with the advent of the UberCloud's novel high-performance software container technology, many of these roadblocks are currently being removed. In this paper the authors describe the current status and landscape of clouds for engineers and scientists, the benefits and challenges, and how UberCloud is providing an online solution platform and container technology which reduce or even remove many of the current roadblock, and thus offer every engineer and scientist additional compute power on demand, in an easily accessible way.

Cloud Computing is a paradigm of distributed computing that delivers on-demand and utility-based services to its customers. It provides a set of shared computing resources such as networking, servers, storage, and applications in the form of services to an organization or an individual. The major benefits of cloud computing include on-demand self-service and cost-effectiveness. For the customer, there is no up-front cost for setting up and running the applications on the cloud. Despite the benefits provided by various cloud services, the outsourcing of data storage and computation raise many new security issues. One of such security issues that have to be addressed before uploading our sensitive data to the cloud is data privacy. With the cloud model, end-users lose control over the physical location of data, because data will be stored and processed elsewhere on the globe and not in the local computer. Hence, we need an algorithm for encrypting the data that can be stored and retrieved from a database managed by the public cloud.

The growth in data traffic within higher institutions has always been accompanied with the adoption of a more scalable IT infrastructure. With the increasing budgetary constraints, cloud computing (a disruptive technology) presents an attractive means to address the scalability challenges while realizing the potential of ubiquitous IT services. The on-demand business proposition of the cloud provides virtualized resources (software, platform, and infrastructure) with far-reaching efficiencies that have lowered the initial and operating IT costs for both small and large organizations. In migrating to the cloud environments, various organizations encounter challenges and experiences which are worthy of considerations by new entrants and established users. In this paper, the authors present the experiences of Sullivan University in transitioning to the complex cloud environment, in which a mixture of pilot and phased conversion steps were deployed in the migration process.

E-learning has become a global phenomenon and it is the central theme of many industries and organizations for the additional method of training which can complement traditional methods of learning. The practices of E-learning and Learning management system (LMS) in the banking sector make the drastic changes in the employee performance and their knowledge regarding job in the modern banking structure. This study provides a comprehensive body of knowledge about LMS and e-learning, in general, within the public and private bank in India. The main objective of this paper to understand and analyze the attitude of employees towards E-learning practices in banking sector in Shivamogga district. The data was analyzed by using exploratory factor analysis, based on the responses received from a random the sample 50 of the bank employees working in the private sector banks.

Pada saat ini banyak sekali informasi yang bisa kita dapatkan di internet, termasuk informasi seputar kehamilan. Namun dengan banyaknya informasi tersebut, tidak semua informasi bisa dipertanggungjawabkan kebenarannya. Perlu adanya pihak lain yang melakukan validasi. Kehamilan merupakan momen istimewa bagi seorang ibu, untuk itu diperlukan informasi yang tepat untuk kehamilan sang ibu. Melihat masalah tersebut, muncullah gagasan ide untuk merancang suatu aplikasi yang dapat menghubungkan antara ibu yang sedang mengandung, dengan pihak dokter  yang spesialis di bidang kandungan. Tidak hanya dokter, para ibu juga bisa saling berbagi kisah kehamilannya dengan para ibu hamil lainnya. Aplikasi ini dirancang untuk menghubungkan para ibu dan dokter sehingga dapat memperoleh informasi yang lebih terpercaya secara langsung. Perancangan aplikasi berbasis cloud, dengan antarmuka yang sederhana sehingga memudahkan ibu dalam menggunakan aplikasi ini. Kata Kunci—Informasi, Kehamilan, Aplikasi
