The application of ubiquitous technologies in the improvement of education strategies is called ubiquitous learning. This strategy amplifies the pedagogical potential of e-learning through a ubiquitous and contextualized perspective. On the other hand, a ubiquitous technological mediation in learning can also increase the isolation of learners and reduce the integration among colleagues. Strategies to encourage the group learning can minimize these possible side effects. In this sense, this article proposes UbiGroup, an agent-based model for ubiquitous recommendation of educational contents for groups of learners. UbiGroup aims to help teachers to search, select and distribute educational materials for groups. The model considers the group profile and the context where learners are. The recommendation for dynamic groups of learners through a consensus profile is the main scientific contribution of this research. The model was evaluated through simulated scenarios. The results were encouraging and show potential for implementing UbiGroup in real learning environments.

The main aim of the AHKME e-learning platform is to provide a system with adaptive and knowledge management abilities for students and teachers. This system is based on the IMS specifications representing information through metadata, granting semantics to all contents in the platform, giving them meaning. In this platform, metadata is used to satisfy requirements like reusability, interoperability and multipurpose. The system provides authoring tools to define learning methods with adaptive characteristics, and tools to create courses allowing users with different roles, promoting several types of collaborative and group learning. It is also endowed with tools to retrieve, import and evaluate learning objects based on metadata, where students can use quality educational contents fitting their characteristics, and teachers have the possibility of using quality educational contents to structure their courses. The learning objects management and evaluation play an important role in order to get the best results in the teaching/learning process.

Increasingly powerful, handheld, networked devices provide an opportunity for educators to explore and implement ubiquitous learning (u-learning) environments through the extension of e-learning environments to include applications and services delivered to mobile devices. U-learning environments should be developed with both an understanding of human learning in general, and the learning of formally structured knowledge through de-structured u-learning environments. This study proposes a learning model for u-learning environments and a system architecture based on this model. The study outlines the features of the Walkabout u-Learning Environment, which has been implemented and trialled in accordance with the proposed model and architecture.

The explosive growth of the Internet and the dramatic advances in the design and development of online technological tools in recent years have revolutionized the way students and teachers view technology in education. With globalization, library educators should address culturally-sensitive instruction design and curriculum, particularly in online learning environments. Hofstede’s cultural dimensions and Bigg’s educational model provide frameworks for addressing cultural impact on library education. Les dimensions culturelles de Hofstede et le modèle éducatif de Bigg offrent un cadre permettant de traiter de l'impact culturel sur l'éducation. Seront présentées différentes techniques pour aborder les questions de langue et d'apprentissage en ligne.

In the system of school education of the Kyrgyz Republic, the problem of developing electronic educational material and introducing it into the educational process of schools is becoming urgent. This goal allows the further implementation of the issue of computerization of school education. This article focuses on the quality of education. To achieve high-quality modern training, the use of electronic materials is required. Electronic materials must be designed in accordance with the rules. Therefore, the content of this article is aimed at revealing the importance of e-learning, at developing electronic materials, at characterizing the requirements for compiling electronic materials and the requirements for using electronic educational materials.
