In this digital era, people are very keen to share their feedback about any product, services, or current issues on social networks and other platforms. A fine analysis of these feedbacks can give a clear picture of what people think about a particular topic. This work proposed an almost unsupervised Aspect Based Sentiment Analysis approach for textual reviews. Latent Dirichlet Allocation, along with linguistic rules, is used for aspect extraction. Aspects are ranked based on their probability distribution values and then clustered into predefined categories using frequent terms with domain knowledge. SentiWordNet lexicon uses for sentiment scoring and classification. The experiment with two popular datasets shows the superiority of our strategy as compared to existing methods. It shows the 85% average accuracy when tested on manually labeled data.

The purpose of this article is to study one of the methods of social networks analysis – text sentiment analysis. Today, social media has become a big data base that social network analysis is used for various purposes – from setting up targeted advertising for a cosmetics store to preventing riots at the state level. There are various methods for analyzing social networks such as graph method, text sentiment analysis, audio, and video object analysis. Among them, sentiment analysis is widely used for political, social, consumer research, and also for cybersecurity. Since the analysis of the sentiment of the text involves the analysis of the emotional opinions expressed in the text, the first step is to define the term opinion. An opinion can be simple, that is, a positive, negative or neutral emotion towards a particular object or its aspect. Comparison is also an opinion, but devoid of emotional connotation. To work with simple opinions, the first task of text sentiment analysis is to classify the text. There are three levels of classifications: classification at the text level, at the level of a sentence, and at the aspect level of the object. After classifying the text at the desired level, the next task is to extract structured data from unstructured information. The problem can be solved using the five-tuple method. One of the important elements of a tuple is the aspect in which an opinion is usually expressed. Next, aspect-based sentiment analysis is applied, which involves identifying aspects of the desired object and assessing the polarity of mood for each aspect. This task is divided into two sub-tasks such as aspect extraction and aspect classification. Sentiment analysis has limitations such as the definition of sarcasm and difficulty of working with abbreviated words.

Social networks have changed the communication patterns significantly. Information available from different social networking sites can be well utilized for the analysis of users opinion. Hence, the organizations would benefit through the development of a platform, which can analyze public sentiments in the social media about their products and services to provide a value addition in their business process. Over the last few years, deep learning is very popular in the areas of image classification, speech recognition, etc. However, research on the use of deep learning method in sentiment analysis is limited. It has been observed that in some cases the existing machine learning methods for sentiment analysis fail to extract some implicit aspects and might not be very useful. Therefore, we propose a deep learning approach for aspect extraction from text and analysis of users sentiment corresponding to the aspect. A seven layer deep convolutional neural network (CNN) is used to tag each aspect in the opinionated sentences. We have combined deep learning approach with a set of rule-based approach to improve the performance of aspect extraction method as well as sentiment scoring method. We have also tried to improve the existing rule-based approach of aspect extraction by aspect categorization with a predefined set of aspect categories using clustering method and compared our proposed method with some of the state-of-the-art methods. It has been observed that the overall accuracy of our proposed method is 0.87 while that of the other state-of-the-art methods like modified rule-based method and CNN are 0.75 and 0.80 respectively. The overall accuracy of our proposed method shows an increment of 7–12% from that of the state-of-the-art methods.

Recently, Sentiment Analysis is used for expression detection of products or services. Sentiment Analysis is one category type with a level of aspect focused on extracting product aspects. One of the common methods used for aspect extraction is Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) using random topic identification, but this method has not been able to find an acceptable topic with some aspects having been found. Undeterminable topics are referred to as the hidden topics. This study purpose is to evaluate and compare the suitability of identifying hidden topics between human and computer evaluation. The study is also focused on aspect extraction using a variety of LDA innovations. The data used in this study used case studies on e-Commerce. Data were processed using feature selection and grouped using LDA development. Then the data results are processed using Latent Topic Identification based on subjective and objective evaluations. The identification of hidden topic results was evaluated using several semantic and lexicon tests. The evaluation results indicate the comparison of two hidden topic identification assessment values is quite relevant with the average difference in value reaching 6%. As a result, computer calculations assist humans in determining topics if each topic has a low coherence value.

Fast growth of technology and the tremendous growth of population has made millions of people to be active participants on social networking forums. The experiences shared by the participants on different websites is highly useful not only to customers to make decisions but also helps companies to maintain sustainability in businesses. Sentiment analysis is an automated process to analyze the public opinion behind certain topics. Identifying targets of user’s opinion from text is referred to as aspect extraction task, which is the most crucial and important part of Sentiment Analysis. The proposed system is a rule-based approach to extract aspect terms from reviews. A sequence of patterns is created based on the dependency relations between target and its nearby words. The system of rules works on a benchmark of dataset for Hindi shared by Akhtar et al., 2016. The evaluated results show that the proposed approach has significant improvement in extracting aspects over the baseline approach reported on the same dataset.

Reviews are a crucial source of opinions that may influence the decision in many areas. So there is a need for an algorithm that is efficient in understanding the aspects that the reviewers have focused on in their reviews and comments on social networks or other web applications. This paper submits a proposed approach for aspect-based sentiment analysis that consists of two steps; the firststep is by a proposedp_chunker algorithm for aspect extraction using Latent Dirchilet Analysis and noun phrase chunking, the second step is sentiment analysis using a proposed hybrid algorithm that depending on both lexicon and supervised sentiment analysis to specify the sentiment for extracted aspects. The proposed paradigm is tested using standard datasets from kaggle for both aspect extraction and sentiment analysis, the result show efficacy in the proposed method.

In this digital era, people can become more interconnected as information spreads easily and quickly through online social media. The rapid growth of the social network services (SNS) increases the need for better methodologies for comprehending the semantics among the SNS users. This need motivated the proposal of a novel framework for understanding information diffusion process and the semantics of user comments, called SentiFlow. In this paper, we present a probabilistic approach to discover an information diffusion process based on an extended hidden Markov model (HMM) by analyzing the users and comments from posts on social media. A probabilistic dissemination of information among user communities is reflected after discovering topics and sentiments from the user comments. Specifically, the proposed method makes the groups of users based on their interaction on social networks using Louvain modularity from SNS logs. User comments are then analyzed to find different sentiments toward a subject such as news in social networks. Moreover, the proposed method is based on the latent Dirichlet allocation for topic discovery and the naïve Bayes classifier for sentiment analysis. Finally, an example using Facebook data demonstrates the practical value of SentiFlow in real world applications.
