MixAR, a full-stack system capable of providing visualization of virtual reconstructions seamlessly integrated in the real scene (e.g. upon ruins), with the possibility of being freely explored by visitors, in situ, is presented in this article. In addition to its ability to operate with several tracking approaches to be able to deal with a wide variety of environmental conditions, MixAR system also implements an extended environment feature that provides visitors with an insight on surrounding points-of-interest for visitation during mixed reality experiences (positional rough tracking). A procedural modelling tool mainstreams augmentation models production. Tests carried out with participants to ascertain comfort, satisfaction and presence/immersion based on an in-field MR experience and respective results are also presented. Ease to adapt to the experience, desire to see the system in museums and a raised curiosity and motivation contributed as positive points for evaluation. In what regards to sickness and comfort, the lowest number of complaints seems to be satisfactory. Models' illumination/re-lightning must be addressed in the future to improve the user's engagement with the experiences provided by the MixAR system.

Progress in renewable energy production has directed interest in advanced developments of energy storage systems. The all-vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) is one of the attractive technologies for large scale energy storage due to its design versatility and scalability, longevity, good round-trip efficiencies, stable capacity and safety. Despite these advantages, the deployment of the vanadium battery has been limited due to vanadium and cell material costs, as well as supply issues. Improving stack power density can lower the cost per kW power output and therefore, intensive research and development is currently ongoing to improve cell performance by increasing electrode activity, reducing cell resistance, improving membrane selectivity and ionic conductivity, etc. In order to evaluate the cell performance arising from this intensive R&D, numerous physical, electrochemical and chemical techniques are employed, which are mostly carried out ex situ, particularly on cell characterizations. However, this approach is unable to provide in-depth insights into the changes within the cell during operation. Therefore, in situ diagnostic tools have been developed to acquire information relating to the design, operating parameters and cell materials during VRFB operation. This paper reviews in situ diagnostic tools used to realize an in-depth insight into the VRFBs. A systematic review of the previous research in the field is presented with the advantages and limitations of each technique being discussed, along with the recommendations to guide researchers to identify the most appropriate technique for specific investigations.

Surface treated copper foil and its preparation is very important and widely used. The science research and enterprise competition always focus on the surface treated methods in the copper foil field. This paper summarized the typical surface treated processes of copper foil, and emphasized on research progress and problems of copper foil surface treated processes. The brush plating-dealloying treated process of copper foil was proposed based on the problems. The principle and research status of new process was introduced. At last, the future development of surface treated process and application prospect were forecast.

Research about the enhancement of the airlift pump performance by changing the geometry and operational parameters has drawn considerable attention in recent years. This paper presents a comprehensive review of some published research articles on the enhancement performance of the airlift pump and the future direction of the research. In the introductory section, the description, the application, and the performance of the airlift pump are described. The influencing parameters of the airlift pump performance are classified in the geometry and operational. The geometry parameters are including submergence ratio, pipe diameter, pipe length, design, and position of the injector. The operational parameters are including the testing fluid, diameter and density particles, and the superficial velocity of injected air. All of the involved parameters are detail explained in the experimental study section. The detailed derivation of equations of the airlift pump performance and also the modified equation was shown in the theoretical study section. The numerical study of airlift pump operating on two and three phases was also discussed. In the last section, the future directions of the airlift pump are noted, and some conclusions were summarized. It was found that only limited literature about flow patterns in terms of the dynamic interface of each phase and development bubble jet generator airlift pump. Therefore, experimental data are needed to support this effort. Additional work, both theoretical and experimental, needs to be conducted on the effects of type and position bubble jet generators on the flow characteristic and the airlift pump performance, with the hope that the better performance will be obtained.
