PurposeQuantitative objective studies on the problem of celebrity selection are lacking. Furthermore, existing research does not recognize the group decision-making nature and the possibility of customer involvement in celebrity or influencer selection for social media marketing. This study conceptualizes celebrity selection as a multi-attribute group decision-making problem while deriving the final ranking of celebrities/influencers using interactive and flexible criteria based on the value tradeoff approach. The article thus proposes and demonstrates a quantitative objective method of celebrity selection for a brand or campaign in an interactive manner incorporating customer's preferences as well.Design/methodology/approachEach decision-maker's preferences for celebrity selection criteria are objectively captured and converted into an overall group preference using a modified generalized fuzzy evaluation method (MGFEM). The final ranking of celebrities is then derived from an interactive and criteria-based value tradeoff approach using the flexible and interactive tradeoff method.FindingsThe approach gives a different ranking of celebrities for two campaigns based on group members' perceived importance of the selection criteria in different scenarios. This group includes decision-makers (DMs) from the brand, marketing communication agency and brand's customers. Further, each group member has an almost equal say in the decision-making based on fuzzy evaluation and an interactive and flexible value tradeoff approach to celebrity selection for receiving a rank order.Research limitations/implicationsThe approach uses secondary data on celebrities and hypothetical scenarios. Comparison with other methods is difficult, as no other study proposes a multi-criteria group decision-making approach to celebrity selection especially in a social media context.Practical implicationsThis approach can help DMs make more informed, objective and effective decisions on celebrity selection for their brands or campaigns. It recognizes that there are multiple stakeholders, including the end customers, each of whose views is objectively considered in the aspects of group decision-making through a fuzzy evaluation method. Further, this study provides a selection mechanism for a given context of endorsement by objectively and interactively encapsulating stakeholder preferences.Originality/valueThis robust and holistic approach to celebrity selection can help DMs objectively make consensual decisions with partial or complete information. This quantitative approach contributes to the literature on selection mechanisms of influencers, celebrities, social media opinion leaders etc. by providing a methodological aid that encompasses aspects of interactive group decision-making for a given context. Moreover, this method is useful to DMs and stakeholders in understanding and incorporating the effect of nature or context of the brand and the campaign type in the selection of a celebrity or an influencer.

Aim at the characteristic of airplane assembly sequence evaluation, which has too many rules, and the quantity process of qualitative rules is too complicated, this paper presents an evaluation mode based on the fuzzy theory and the multi-index progressive model. According to the evaluation rules space and the coefficient distributed method of rules compared, it divides the rules space into force associated decision-making gather and weak associated decision-making gather by defining the cut value. Then it adopts the maximal subjection fundamental to implement the function of assembly sequence evaluation. An instance about airplane sub-assembly is used to prove this method can solve a practical application availably.

The river ecosystem has the characteristics of the coexistence of clarity and ambiguity. The starting point of eco-friendly reservoir operation is to fully consider the ecological water requirements of the lower reaches of the reservoir, so it also has the characteristics of clarity and vagueness. The fuzzy theory is an excellent tool to realize the quantification of fuzzy concepts. In this paper, the variable set theory (VS) is introduced into the decision-making field of eco-friendly reservoir scheduling scheme optimization. Taking Ertan Hydropower Station as an example, the scheduling scheme optimization is carried out. To verify the effectiveness of the evaluation method, this paper compares and analyzes the evaluation results of the fuzzy set evaluation method and the composite fuzzy matter-element method. The results show that the variable fuzzy set method has the advantages of rigorous theory, a concise model, and simple calculation, and the decision result is reasonable and reliable. This research can provide new ideas for the decision-making research of engineering.

COVID-19 has led people to question numerous aspects of life, including family budgetary arrangements and wealth management. The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown many of us a financial curveball. Managing personal finances is important, particularly during a crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the economic consequences are evident, financially induced stress caused by uncertainty is less visible. Individual wealth increments and firm size measures have brought a commensurate increment in their respective resources. Thus, monitoring these resources and coordinate investment exercises is necessary to preserve resource development. The best method to improve wealth management banks is to consider competitive preferences by designating a set of wealth management bank selections to oversee individuals’ wealth viably. This paper provides a step-by-step assessment guide for wealth management banks using multiple-criteria decision-making to illustrate the appropriateness of the proposed technique. We found that the two primary aspects of wealth management bank evaluations are transaction safety and professional financial knowledge. The proposed approach is relatively straightforward and appropriate for such key decision-making issues.

From printing technology’s perspective, printing quality is determined by the comprehensive effects of all the printing product appearance features. The factors which dominate to comprehensive effects of all the printing product appearance features include definition of image, tone rendering, color rendering, uneven, and gloss, etc. In the print quality evaluation, this factor is affected by many other factors. Therefore, printing quality evaluations are indeterminate. Most of printing quality evaluations belongs to fuzzy theory, which brings a lot of troubles to the printing quality evaluation. The paper mainly research that the synthesis decision-making method in fuzzy mathematics theory is used to tone reproduction of printing quality, and analyze the feasibility of applying Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation Model in printing quality evaluation. The synthesis decision-making method is used to determine the tone indicator system of printing, establish Fuzzy Evaluation Mode, and analyze the influencing factors. Through the evaluation of numerous experts, the weight will be offered for the specified factors. On the basis of weights, printing quality can be evaluated by determining the membership function of all the factors and calculating the score through fuzzy algorithm. The paper studies have shown that the synthesis decision-making method in fuzzy mathematics theory can be used to solve the printer quality evaluation problem and is valid for evaluating the results in actual application.
