This study focuses on developing bundling product strategies in the marketing of objects and tourism attractions. The purpose of this research is to examine the application of the bundling product concept as the development of the competitive strategy of tourist destinations. The research was conducted in Bondowoso district, East Java, Indonesia, which has various potential tourism assets. The method used is a descriptive method to analyze data and information relate to the opportunities and development of tourism in Bondowoso. The results indicated that the form of policy direction bundling strategy of Bondowoso tourism products have the opportunity to optimize the product bundling strategy with promotional packages to provide value of customer. The preference of the variety bundle is expected to be higher in the combined evaluation mode rather than in the separate evaluation mode. The Special Interest Tourism is the suitable type of tourism development. The attributes of the destination are expected to satisfy the needs of tourists also the aspects of performance quality which based on emotional motives. Marketing bundling products through promotion can be done by using e-marketing and viral marketing with several forms of social media.

This study evaluates the Integrated Multi-satellite Retrievals from Global Precipitation Measurement (IMERG) final product’s ability to represent the extreme precipitation against 310 observations from Nepal between 2015 and 2017. Additionally, Method of Object-based Diagnostic Evaluation (MODE) analysis was also performed to analyze IMERG ability to capture actual spatial distribution of the rainfall extremes. Both datasets show the extreme rainfall events are mostly concentrated at southern low land areas of the country. MODE tool further revealed the slight shifting of heavy precipitation location by IMERG product as compared to observation. It is also noted that, as precipitation intensity increases (threshold values of rainfall), the number of extreme events decreases. Moreover, this work provides a systematic quantification of the performance of IMERG gauge calibrated product and its applicability in extreme precipitation over mountainous region.

The information cluster that supports the final decision in a decision task is usually presented as a series of information. According to the serial position effect, the decision result is easily affected by the presentation order of the information. In this study, we seek to investigate how the presentation mode of commodities and the informativeness on a shopping website will influence online shopping decisions. To this end, we constructed two experiments via a virtual online shopping environment. The first experiment suggests that the serial position effect can induce human computer interaction decision-making bias, and user decision-making results in separate evaluation mode are more prone to the recency effect, whereas user decision-making results in joint evaluation mode are more prone to the primacy effect. The second experiment confirms the influence of explicit and implicit details of information on the decision bias of the human computer interaction caused by the serial position effect. The results of the research will be better applied to the design and development of shopping websites or further applied to the interactive design of complex information systems to alleviate user decision-making biases and induce users to make more rational decisions.

We present a novel evaluation mode for Lagrangian Particle Tracking methods in general, applied to the Shake-The-Box method specifically. The aim is to attain high levels of accuracy and a removal of false (‘ghost’) tracks in flow situations, where significant amounts of particles show small relative movement with respect to each other in consecutive time-steps. An iterative approach using variable time separations is employed, which starts by tracking particles at high timeseparations, followed by an iterative reduction of time separation, while feeding the particle tracked within the previous iterations. The process allows for applying tracking parameters fine-tuned to the different flow regimes tracked within each iteration. Experimental validation was performed using a dataset on impinging jet flow, created in collaboration with the School of Mechanical Engineering of Pusan National University. Evaluation of this flow with high velocity range shows distinct advantages in reduction of ghost tracks and in tracking accuracy.

AbstractAccurate forecasts of atmospheric rivers (ARs) provide advance warning of flood and landslide hazards, as well as greatly aid effective water management. It is therefore critical to evaluate the skill of AR forecasts in numerical weather prediction (NWP) models. A new verification framework is proposed leveraging freely available software and metrics previously used for different applications. Specifically, AR detection and statistics are computed for the first time using the Method for Object-based Diagnostic Evaluation (MODE). In addition, the measure of effectiveness (MoE) is introduced as a new metric for understanding AR forecast skill in terms of size and location. The MoE provides a quantitative measure of the position of an entire forecasted AR compared to observation, regardless of whether the AR is making landfall. In addition, the MoE can provide qualitative information about the evolution of a forecast by lead time with implications about the predictability of an AR. We analyze AR forecast verification and skill using 11 years of cold season forecasts from two NWP models, one global and one regional. Four different thresholds of integrated vapor transport (IVT) are used in the verification revealing differences in forecast skill based on the strength of an AR. In addition to MoE, AR forecast skill is also addressed in terms of intensity error, landfall position error, and contingency table metrics.
