With the coming forth of a batch of energy saving buildings in China, some quality issues of cracking, hollowing, dropping, disrupting of thermal insulation layers follow on the heels of it. This paper analyzes the mechanism and causes of formation on these quality issues and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures for avoiding, treating or taking precaution against these issues. It is a valuable reference to treat the issues on insulation system as well as has directive meanings to install insulation system.

In this paper, thermal insulating bonding mortar has been produced by the spent polystyrene foam particles, cement, sand, tackifier and water etc. It shows that thermal insulation performance and compressive strength of thermal insulating bonding mortar are similar with those of aerated concrete by comparison tests. In this paper, the new wall is made by thermal insulating bonding mortar and aerated concrete blocks, and the results show the thermal insulating performance of this wall can be improved and its cold bridge impact can be eliminated too. Correspondingly, the energy saving effect of buildings can be improved rapidly.

Analysis of Chinese current development status of wall insulation technology, aim at the importance of building energy conservation in cold areas. Point out that developing energy-saving building wall is the key to development of building energy saving. In this paper, put a kind of an advanced self-thermal insulation walls as an example in Changchun area. Adopt Tsinghua university’s building thermal environmental simulation software DeST-c. Modeling analysis of building’s heating air conditioner operation consumption in the whole year under three different kinds of walls. Through the comparison we know that the structure adopting new self-thermal insulation wall has the most remarkable energy saving effect.

The mathematical analysis model of LCC of self-thermal insulation system of external wall that is applicable to Changsha region is established by using degree days and present worth factor. And the LCC of three commonly used self-thermal insulation systems in Changsha is analyzed by using this model. Analysis results have proven that self-thermal insulation system of external wall has very significant comprehensive economic benefits compared with the wall that energy-saving measures are not taken, and it has an important practical significance to promote the development of energy-saving building in Changsha, China.

In order to evaluate the energy-saving effect of the bamboo plywood as building enclosure, by measuring thermal conductivity of compound bamboo building enclosure with different moisture content, performance function between bamboo characteristic and thermal conductivity were deduced with numerical analysis method. First, we measured thermal conductivity with different moisture content. For the accuracy of data, we put a thin plastic film between the heating layer of the tester and the bamboo plywood to reduce water evaporation. Then we got the functional relation of moisture content and thermal conductivity, by using numerical analysis software. Finally, according to the national related standard and the performance of the bamboo plywood within different moisture content, we analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the bamboo plywood as building enclosure. The results showed that the heat preservation and thermal insulation properties of bamboo plywood as construction materials are both stronger than traditional building materials such as reinforced concrete with different moisture content. Meanwhile, so as to ensure the heat preservation and thermal insulation properties and to achieve a good energy saving effect, wed better keep the moisture content of bamboo plywood in a low state.
