Based on comprehensive analysis on security requirements of information transmission, security primitive is generated by automatic tool in asymmetric key cryptosystem, and improved with addition of compositional factors. And then, formal processes of secure information transmission are constructed with composition method. Formal analysis shows that, secrecy, integrity, availability, controllability, non-repudiation and identifiability during information transmission can be insured by this architecture, as a common framework for development of various application systems in digital campus from the viewpoint of information security.

Despite recent achievements by the South African government in enhancing the provision of access to education, the quality of educational information access with regards to the provision of learning resources to high school learners by the government in one of the country’s most impoverished provinces, was the focus of this study. The study was an attempt to establish the reality of the availability and accessibility of educational information available to students, especially those in Grade 12 preparing for their Matric examination. Ribot and Peluso’s theory of access was utilised for this study, while a survey design was adopted to answer the following research questions on data collected from Grade 12 learners, teachers and librarians: What are the types of educational information available to high school learners in the Fort Beaufort Education District in the Eastern Cape Province? To what extent is the available educational information accessible by high school learners in the Fort Beaufort Education District in the Eastern Cape Province? The results revealed accessibility constraints regarding some categories of educational information resources, including information resources on soft skills as well as information and communication technologies education (mean item scores 3.45 and 3.07 respectively). The engagement of teacher librarians to facilitate robust collection development and support access to educational information is imperative and recommended.

The development of Applied-information Technology and Internet make the access of information resources more convenient and quicker, but the inaccessibility of web citations becomes a prominent problem. Researches about the web citations inaccessibility at home and abroad mostly focused on the phenomenon and principle of the accessibility, however, the solutions to the accessibility problem had not been studied so much, and the relevant application systems were even less. The construction of journal web citation accessibility system platform should emphasize solutions to the “variability” of the location and content of information resources. This platform may include the retrieval modules of current and archive issues so as to realize the maximum retrieval and present of web citations.

One way to accomplish the smart city is by utilizing application that build interaction between society and the government while providing the benefits to all stakeholders. This application systems should be reached easily and relatively cheap for the society, and they can be used anytime, anywhere. This paper describes how to develop applications that implement the Location Based Services (LBS) for Development of Smart City to build the Public Complaints Service Application System (PCSAS). The PCSAS was designed, built and then tested. This PCSAS was built with Web-based Client-Server architecture. On the client side using a web interface or mobile with Android operating system. This application uses a valid e-mail as a condition of enrollment, while accommodating Social Media interface particularly Facebook and Twitter to get into the system. The result of the use of this application system was an interaction between the community and the government in handling public complaints. Location information problems in the field may soon be known precisely by coordinates, so that the handling can be done quickly and with sufficient preparation equipment based on the information of the real conditions in the field in the form of photos and videos that are included in the complaint.

This paper mainly studies application of formal design for security protocols in digital campus. With a comprehensive analysis on security requirements of information transmission in digital campus, an information transmission model is built from the viewpoint of information security. Based on this model, a new security protocol, called DCIT for short, is designed. The formal analysis shows that secrecy, integrity, availability, controllability, non-repudiation and identifiability of information during transmission could be insured by DCIT, which could be used as a direction for development of various application systems in digital campus, from the viewpoint of information security.

With the deepening of information engineering, people face increasing amounts of information resources and also the demand of information is more and more. The digital library is a wealth of information resources. Affording readers a richer layer of personalized service is a new objective for the growth of these digital libraries. The data mining techniques to elicit useful information from a bunch of clutter information, in parliamentary procedure to provide efficient technical support for personalized services of digital libraries. The feasibility of information mining technology in digital libraries is analyzed in this paper. It also discusses the information mining technology in the digital library applications and the feasibility analysis for the data mining applications in digital libraries.
