In the background of the rapid development of market economy, a large number of carbon dioxide emissions, leads to the obvious imbalance of carbon in nature. In recent years, the global temperature is getting warmer, the sea level is rising year by year, and the grain production is also significantly reduced, which will bring a great threat to the normal survival and development of human beings. In order to protect the environment on which human beings live, low carbon economy is put forward. Under the environment of low carbon economy, private enterprises are not only facing new development opportunities. At the same time, private enterprises are also facing new development challenges. If they want to develop further, they must actively deal with them. The author analyzes the opportunities and challenges faced by private enterprises under the environment of low carbon economy, and puts forward specific countermeasures, hoping to be helpful to the long-term development of private enterprises.

In recent years, the world has been committed to the development of environmental industries and sustainable resources, and continues to implement the strategic idea of the scientific concept of development to prevent environmental pollution and resource waste. However, the nation seems to be accustomed to the use of disposable items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and slippers in hotels. With the rapid development of the hotel industry, a large number of disposable items have been used in the hotel industry for a long time, which has brought great pressure to the environment and does not meet the requirements of the concept of low-carbon economy and green development. Through the investigation and analysis of the use of disposable products in hotels, this paper explores the solution and feasibility of banning disposable products in hotels, aiming to contribute to the low carbon economy and low carbon consumption.

As one of the important renewable energy for relieving of the human energy crisis, the exploitation and utilization of wind energy, and the encouragement of wind power industry help to realize the development of low-carbon economy in China. In the past few years, the wind power industry has achieved rapid development which faces a lot of opportunities as well as many challenges in china. Using SWOT analysis method, this paper indicates the advantages and disadvantages, and analyzes the opportunities and challenges. This study not only helps to understand the status of the industry, but also provides valuable information to promote the future development of the wind power industry in China.

As the rapid development of Chinese economy, the total energy consumption and pollutant emission increased increasingly, which lead to a terrible situation in energy safety and environmental pollution. In the meantime, the greenhouse gas (GHG) and pollutants (such as SO2, NOx and NH3-N) generated by energy consumption increased, and the above pollutions had brought a substantial negative impact on global climate change and low-carbon economy (LCE) development. This paper analyzed the situation of energy consumption in China, and revealed the significance of total energy consumption. Energy consumption control based on LCE theory was the effective protection measure of national resources and energy security, and could promote the economic development and adjustment of industrial structure, which was investigated from three aspects expressed as three allocation models in the article. The results indicated that, energy consumption control can promote development of LCE by protecting eco-environment and sustaining security of energy and resources, and supporting steady development of our society by minimizing the utilization of energy, and the above aspects would be the key points in control of total energy consumption and pollutant emission during the 12th Five-Year Planning in China.

Like many developing countries, Thailand is currently coping with a host of environmental challenges and a need to reduce carbon emissions. To tackle this challenge, Thailand has produced policies designed to enhance environmental conservation. However, without the development of its labour force with suitable and up to date job skills this challenge becomes difficult to achieve. This paper presents a rationale for the emergence of green occupations as a means of transitioning Thailand’s tourism sector into a low carbon economy. A mechanism for achieving this goal is by training and retraining the workforce with a set of well-defined green knowledge and skill sets. These can be developed through the development and implementation of ‘green competencies’. This paper presents a methodology of how to transition a standard job into a green job in the tourism sector by developing green sustainable competencies

With the rapid development of China's economy, a series of social problems such as energy crisis and global warming gradually have become prominent. In the consumption structure of our country, coal has the leading status. Therefore, achieving low-carbonation development of the coal enterprises is important for the whole society to realize sustainable development. On the basis of elaboration on low- carbon economy meanings and basic elements, this article analyzes the development models, like cleaner production, comprehensive utilization of resources, diversified development, industrial clusters, and low-carbon coal cities and hopes all of this would be useful for reference to China's coal enterprises.

Hydrogen is considered to be an ideal energy carrier to achieve low-carbon economy and sustainable energy supply. Production of hydrogen by catalytic reforming of organic compounds is one of the most important commercial processes. With the rapid development of photocatalysis in recent years, the applications of photocatalysis have been extended to the area of reforming hydrogen evolution. This research area has attracted extensive attention and exhibited potential for wide application in practice. Photocatalytic reforming for hydrogen evolution is a sustainable process to convert the solar energy stored in hydrogen into chemical energy. This review comprehensively summarized the reported works in relevant areas, categorized by the reforming precursor (organic compound) such as methanol, ethanol and biomass. Mechanisms and characteristics for each category were deeply discussed. In addition, recommendations for future work were suggested.
