Railway station is a comprehensive transportation hub. Its design and construction is far more complex than common public buildings, so as the construction management. This paper mainly explores the schedule risk management of railway station, including risk factors, risk indentation, risk evaluation and risk management. As many similar projects are under construction, Delphi technique method is most favorable for risk indentation. For risk evaluation, risk matrix method and CIM model are recommended to quantify the schedule risk. In the final part, the paper talks about the management of schedule risk. As schedule risk is abstract and its damage relatively slight, the risk prevention and mitigation are most suitable means.

This article is devoted to the diagnosis of problems arising from risk management obligations under the safety management system implemented in civil organisations of certified air operators (carriers). Focus was on the use of quantitative methods in safety risk analysis. The idea of an approach to determine the probability of accidents and serious incidents based on the intensity of symptoms with lower consequences and risk factors as a function of time or number of performed air operations was proposed, based on Markov discrete processes [6,10-12,16]. The essence of this approach is explained by the mathematical model of Runway Excursion probability during landing operations. The concept of improvement of operators' cooperation in the exchange of information about safety indicators by profiling the organisation was presented. The last proposal concerns the construction of a comprehensive risk assessment indicator using a safety risk matrix.

Purpose Under the pressure of environment degradation and energy consumption rises, solar photovoltaic power generation (SPPG) has been seen as a strategic emerging industry in China. However, the SPPG projects have many uncertain factors in the process of the life cycle. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the investment risk comprehensively. Design/methodology/approach Specifically, this paper firstly identified the risk factors and consequences of SPPG project investment and constructed the investment risk factor evaluation index system. Secondly, the factor analysis method was used to reveal the key investment risk factors and risk consequences. Then, the research hypotheses and conceptual model were proposed, and the empirical analysis was conducted based on the structural equation model (SEM). Findings The results showed that the six key risk factors (political, economic, technological, management, market and natural) have a significant impact on the risks during the whole period. The influence degree of risk factors in the operational period is such that market factor > political factor > economic factor > management factor > natural factor > technical factor. In addition, the risk of constructional period has a significant impact during the risk of operational period. Except for natural factors, all risk factors are correlated among the mutual influence relationship of risk factors. Finally, this paper puts forward management implications based on the above conclusions: effectively identify investment risk factors and comprehensively improve risk management ability; (refine the risk factors of SPPG project investment and develop targeted risk prevention and control strategies; define risk management objectives and make relevant strategic plans. Research limitations/implications Because of the chosen research approach, the research results may lack generalisability. Therefore, researchers are encouraged to test the proposed propositions further. Practical implications It can also help stakeholders propose risk prevention strategies throughout the entire process, to promote the sustainable development of SPPG projects. Originality/value This study focuses on the investment risk of SPPG projects, by building an evaluation index system to identify key risk factors, and then establishes a SEM covering constructional period risks and operational period risks to better explore SPPG project risks, in an effort to reveal the mutual influence relationship and influence path of investment risk factors of the projects.

Risk management is a significant part of the success of a public-private partnership (PPP) project. There are four phrases for the process of risk management: Constructing a risk management environment, identifying risk factors, evaluating risk factors, and allocating risk factors. After identifying risk factors, it is imperative to analyze and evaluate critical risk factors, which can help participants formulate strategies to allocate risk factors, and thus alleviate the possible adverse results. The objectives of analyzing and evaluating risk factors focus on two aspects: The possibilities of risk occurrence and the degrees of risk loss. On behalf of determining the critical risk factors effectively, we take the probability degree and linguistic expressions into consideration to manifest experts’ perspectives. We consider critical risk factors in terms of the probability linguistic terms with weakened hedges from the evidential reasoning approach view. The linguistic terms with weakened hedges are applied to express the degree of risk risk loss, and the possibilities of risk occurrence collect from the probabilities of linguistic terms with weakened hedges. First, the commonality function and plausibility function are applied to correct the possibilities of risk occurrence for linguistic terms with weakened hedges. Next, we build a risk evaluation model from experts’ risk propensity and risk perceptions. Moreover, a case study of the risk analyzing and evaluating process of a PPP project is applied to illustrate the availability and effectiveness of the proposed model. We contrast the introduced model with other approaches. Finally, the advantages of this model intended to improve the linguistic terms with weakened hedges for the probabilistic linguistic terms with weakened hedges and evaluate risk factors considering the evidence reasoning approach.

It is essential in building construction management to prevent risk from the viewpoint of both environment and safety. This study suggests the significance of building construction management which places emphasis on risk prevention for the sake of environment and safety, with the introduction of Japanese efficient operation methods to simultaneously conduct environmental management, safety management and risk management, in addition to practical measures for heatstroke which is a serious summer issue of building construction management.

Versatile and high effciency, the urban complex is an intergrated building combining with more than three functions of urban life such as hotel, housing, working, park, commerce, meeting center. As for risk identification, it is the foundation of risk management, and the reference of risk assessment, prevention, monitoring and management. This paper used risk management theory to identify the risk factors of the urban complex, and then established a system of risk factors, hoping to pave the way for the risk evaluation of the urban complex’s development.

In auditing, risk management involves identifying client facts or issues that may affect engagement risk, and planning evidence-gathering strategies accordingly. The purpose of this paper is to examine whether auditors' identification of risk factors and planning of audit tests is affected by decision aid orientation, i.e., a “negative” focus wherein client risk and its consequences are emphasized, or a “positive” focus where such factors are not emphasized. Specifically, we expect that auditors will identify more risk factors using a negatively oriented risk identification decision aid, but only when engagement risk is relatively high. We address this issue in the context of auditors' knowledge of actual clients, manipulating decision aid orientation as negative or positive in a matched-pair design. Results show that auditors using the negative decision aid orientation identify more risk factors than do those using a positive orientation, for their higher-risk clients. We also find that decisions to apply substantive tests are more directly linked to specific risk factors identified than to direct risk assessments. Further, our results show that auditors with repeat engagement experience with the client identify more risk factors. The findings of this study imply that audit firms may improve their risk management strategies through simple changes in the design of decision aids used to support audit planning.

Physical risk assessments allow us to understand work-related critical issues, thus representing a useful tool in risk management strategies. In particular, our study focuses on the identification of already known and emerging physical risks related to necropsy and morgue activities, as well as crime scene investigations. The aim of our study is, therefore, to identify objective elements in order to quantify exposure to such risk factors among healthcare professionals and working personnel. For the research of potentially at-risk activities, data from the Morgue of Policlinico Umberto I Hospital in Rome were used. The scientific literature has been reviewed in order to assess the risks associated with morgue activity. Measurements were performed on previously scheduled days, in collaboration with the activities of different research units. The identified areas of risk were: microclimate; exposure to noise and vibrations; postural and biomechanical aspects of necropsy activities. The obtained results make it possible to detect interindividual variability in exposure to many of the aforementioned risk factors. In particular, the assessment of microclimate did not show significant results. On the contrary, exposure to vibrations and biomechanical aspects of load handling have shown potential risk profiles. For this reason, both profiles have been identified as possible action targets for risk management strategies.

Coronary heart disease is a common, highly lethal, disease which frequently attacks without warning and too often presents with sudden death as the first symptom. Chances of an American male developing CHD before age 60 are one in five.Most angina, infarctions and sudden deaths represent medical failures which should have been forecasted and prevented. About 30% of first MI's will shortly develop angina and experience a per annum death rate, half of which will be sudden deaths. Reinfarctions will occur at 6% per year and half the recurrences will be fatal.No major innovations are needed to identify coronary candidates or to establish their risk from the joint effect of known risk factors. However, all have much to learn about motivating changes in behavior required to control the major risk factors such as cigarette smoking, faulty diet, overweight, sedentary living, abnormal lipids, hypertension and impaired glucose tolerance.Low density lipoprotein cholesterol promotes atherogenesis whereas HDL-cholesterol is protective, and the net effect is judged by their ratio. Hypertension, systolic or diastolic, labile or fixed, at any age in either sex is a powerful contributor to CHD. The impact of diabetes is greater for women, diminishes with age and varies depending on coexisting risk factors.Optimal risk evaluation requires quantitative combination of risk factors so as to include persons with multiple marginal risk factor abnormalities who are at high risk.

Systematization of risks in the field of housing-and-communal services and recommendations on the neutralization of problem zones were offered. The objective is the diagnostics of the situation in the sphere of housing-and-communal services and the identification of risk zones. The author concludes that the information on risk factors is necessary for the creation of the system of risk prevention, and assumes further development of the measures for the effective management in this sector.
